whats the best gaming PC under 1000$?

Zero

Desktop of course,

Answer
I'm assuming you don't want to build a computer yourself. If you do, you can get something very good under $1000. But these two I found are pretty decent. They come with GTX460s (which are very good gaming cards. They come pretty close to my 6850) and high end processors (trust me, you don't need an i7 CPUs for gaming unless you want a computer over $1700. Go for the good graphics cards, and skip the fancy overpriced i7s).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229199

Knowing that I just built a PC myself, these are VERY good prices for a Deskop PC with thier specs.

Otherwise, look for a PC with an i3/i5 or a Phenom II with 3Ghz or greater and 2 cores at the very least. For a graphics card, look for a 5770 or greater/GTS 450 or greater

Find me the best gaming pc for under 1000 or under.?

mrhellfire

I don't care where you find it at. As long as it has a minimal shipping cost, like not half the damn price of the computer just to ship it. The only thing I want is Windows 7 home premium, not windows 8. The reason i don't dare look myself is I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I want to be able to play WOW, Skyrim, SaintsRow, open world type stuff.
THIS IS WHAT I'VE FOUND, AND I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT'S EVEN ANYWHERE NEAR GOOD.

Answer
That one is overpriced and mediocre in in performance.
$899 delivered.

The 970A-G45 motherboard is listed as Crossfire but not SLI compatible according to MSI. That makes the crossfire at reduced performance vs an SLI one. Similar but inferior to 970A-G46.
Crappy power supply

Builds up for $732 with a better motherboard
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2krMK

Will browse around at options if you don't want to build your own.
Part of the $732 is Windows 7 Pro, and they provide a license but do not show the disks.
The build of parts is superior in a couple of ways.

ADD:
Digital Storm is a good quality builder out of California and has a price set semi-custom:
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/vanquish.asp
The $800 plus shipping comes out slightly cheaper and boosts graphics to GTX 650 TI Boost. The Haswell Core i3 is gaming comparable to an FX-4350. The power supply is of better quality even if lower in wattage. There is no bluray and Windows 7 is Home premium. They do not include wireless ($9 card) but adds an interior lighting strip of equal value.
GTX 650 is a bit below an HD 7770.
This approximates the gaming difference from ebay to the equivalent Digital Storm:
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/782?vs=777
Digital Storm Vanquish Level 2
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ksmS
Buildup cost only $645
Raised to the $1059 model
$918.35 to build it (plus $10 light stick)
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ksvo

The iBuypower special can be adjusted down slightly and is a better value than Digital Storm, but not as high a quality build.
Newegg's offers:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258065
$860 Delivered. Tax in CA, NJ, TN
Intel Core i5 4570(3.20GHz)
8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity
Windows 8.1 64-Bit
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
MSI H81M-E33 Motherboard
LEPA N500 PSU
Enermax computer case.
Basic Keyboard+Mouse included
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227505
$957
Intel Core i7 4770(3.40GHz)
8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity
Windows 8.1 64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
Generic 500W PSU
Custom H81 motherboard
NZXT Source 210 Window computer case, no front USB 3.0

Both are similar in gaming ability.
iBuypower build up to match the $957 would be $1111, but gives a few extras and a better motherboard.
The $860 system is the best deal. It does not have the CPU overclocking of the $1100 (after delivery) but is performance similar.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ktpt
Build up cost is about $800 plus keyboard and mouse. It is an excellent value system.
the $860 at Newegg is double the frame rate of the ebay system:

What Does A Normal Pc Gamer Suppose To Have For YouTube Videos?

Fallen

Give Me A List

Answer
Hi Fallen,

Here's Some products that a PC Gamer *Suppose* To Have.

1st. A Decent recording software. This records your GamePlay, A must while making YouTube videos about gaming.
Examples : Fraps, Hypercam , Camtasia Record

2nd. Editing software. You will need these tools to make a professional YouTube profile picture, background and intros. You could also edit your videos to make them more " Professional " and worth watching.
Examples :
- Photo Editing & Backgrounds : Adobe Photoshop Cs Series ( Cs5, cs6 ,... )
-Video Editing : Sony Vegas Series ( 10-11-12 ) , Adobe After Effects,...
Note : Always get the latest of these products ( If possible )

3rd. A Good Gaming Laptop/Desktop. Obviously, you will need one. But you don't actually need one. Here's what I mean : If you can afford a better PC, Of course , you will experience less Lag while recording, editing , gaming. This also makes your Pc run faster.
However, If you don't have the ways of getting a Gaming specificated PC, Your everyday PC will rumble to make your programs work. Keep in mind that if your PC can't run epic games like Battlefield, Consider lowering Graphics. Just a tip.

4th. Accessories. You can get accessories like : Headphones, Gaming mice , Speakers , Microphones, Etc.. To make your videos more enriched with quality. But you don't actually need those. Except for the Microphone, Which is essential while making crisp clear commentaries.

Hope this helped,

Kind Regards,

Avex

What is a good gaming PC?

Zack

I'm looking to get a gaming PC because the new Xbox sucks and I'm not a PS fan. So I'm looking for a good PC. I've never had one so I don't know much about them. What is a good but cheap PC. I'm willing to pay $1000 if I have too but would like to avoid that. Any help is great. Thank you!

Answer
The gaming Pc is the one you build for yourself. You'll save hundreds of dollars building it yourself. They're real easy to build also. Go to youtube and find a video how to build one and a video quoting "gaming pc for $1000 2013". To show what parts to buy. Already built gaming pc are pretty much a rip off.

whats a powerful gaming desktop 2012?

John

i want to get my nephew a powerful desktop computer which means a strong powersupply that won't burn out, fast graphics card and newest most powerful graphics engine, good amount of ram that supports hundreds of 3d units on screen without lag, at least a 4ghz processor speed, i would say a 1tb harddrive or maybe larger, how much do you think i could get one with top notch technology for? im guessing it could even cost a few thousand but i want an answer from an experienced gamer, and also i need to know what good compatible motherboard will fit with the excellent graphics card

Answer
You can get a top-flight gaming system for about $1700-$2000. While spending $2500-$3000 would yield an even higher-end rig, your performance would only be moderately better. Expense rises much faster than performance does above $2000.

Did you say "at least 4Ghz"? There are no processors with a clock speed of 4Ghz unless you overclock them to that point. But Ghz isn't a direct measure of performance anyway. The 3.7Ghz Phenom II X4 980 and 3.6Ghz FX-4100 are much slower in games than a 3.3Ghz Core i5 2500K. And for gaming, the Core i5 2500K or 2550K are better choice than a Core i7 2600K, because there's almost no difference in gaming performance but the Core i5 costs $100 less, which is money you can spend on a higher-end graphics card instead.

If you've got money to spare, then get a Core i7 2700K but there are rapidly diminishing returns beyond the Core i5 2500K level. Since gaming performance is determined 70% by your graphics card, it's counterproductive to spend an extra $200 for a CPU that's only 5-10% faster rather than a graphics card that's 50-75% faster.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the-sandy-bridge-review-intel-core-i7-2600k-i5-2500k-core-i3-2100-tested/20

8GB of RAM is plenty for any gaming build (no games require more than 4GB anyway). Spending more money for 16GB doesn't improve gaming performance at all, it just raises the price.

While Nvidia's new cards are expected to start shipping within the next few months, AMD's new generation cards are already available. I'd recommend building a system with a Core i5 2500K and Radeon HD 7970 (the newest high-end GPU, although not more powerful than the older GTX 590 and Radeon HD 6990). Anything of the GTX 580 level or higher is considered top notch, it just a matter of your budget.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5476/amd-radeon-7950-review/12

When you're into that really expensive category of hardware, dual cards like a pair of 7950s are better than a single GTX 590 or Radeon 6990 anyway.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-590-dual-gf110-radeon-hd-6990,2898-19.html

I recommend a Sandy Bridge system (Core i5 2550K or Core i7 2700K) along with a Z68 motherboard, the X79 platform is just overpriced.

Don't waste time with AMD's FX-8120 or 8150 processors. Those have weaker gaming performance than any of Intel's current Core i5 or i7 processors. Even the Core i3 2120 beats all of AMD's processors in most games.

Pre-made Gaming Desktop 2012?

Makoto

Because I don't want to go through building my own Desktop (although I really should, because everyone says it's cheaper and not at all hard to do), I want to consider buying an actual pre-made gaming desktop to replace my crappy gaming laptop that was gifted to me years ago. I'm looking for something relatively cheap, although any good suggestions will do. As for how "good" of a GPU I'm looking for, I just want something that'll let me play TERA at maximum graphics while recording/streaming, no fps problems. That's mostly the extent of what I'll be using this new desktop for.

If premade Gaming desktops are too expensive and totally not a good option, I'd also accept good suggestions for complete and detailed tutorials on how to build a desktop and suggested parts.

Answer
Not sure what TERA is. I'm a hardware guy and relate games to tables.
This is probably what you want:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227408
The FX-8120 is not a great gaming CPU:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
But, I would think the recording and post production editing would benefit from the FX-8120.
The graphics card is a nice HD 6850 and a price that does not break the bank.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php
Estimate by looking at both of above two.
You can look for youtube videos called build a pc
To get the parts:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/iUUQ
An econo-build that maximizes graphics and upgradability.
As you can see, the number of parts is quite limited and basically you put them in the case in the right places with some bolts and screws and wings in tool-less cases and cable the parts together and load windows and update like any PC.
Ask opinions about the part set. If young teenagers can build a PC, it's not rocket science.
It's mostly about optimizing money and deciding about future upgradability.
They run out of the best ones fast:

I'm getting this with a 20" monitor for $800, if you know of a better pc with a monitor for $800 or less please post
Here's the link

Looks like a pretty good deal. Only thing you will need to upgrade in the future will be the video card and the power supply (400w is stock).

The GT 220 video card won't overwhelm you but it will do fine to start out with.

Wait a few months and the price of the GTS 260's should drop immensely.

Help with gaming pc!?

Juan camil

Hello.
I have a simple question, I want to buy a new gaming computer and I have around 1000 dollars for the pc, but I don't know if I should order a custom computer in webpages like Cyberpowerpc, Ibuypower and others or buy my own pc components on amazon and build it, but I have no experience doing that and I don't know if it is worth to buy the components and build it my self.

Answer
Well, building a computer is a lot easier than you'd think if you take a little time to learn the basics. It is definitely worth it to build it yourself.
Why?
- You'll learn about the parts of a computer and how to build one.
- You'll be able to spend your money on better hardware than you get with a pre built.
- Generally, even pre built computers advertised for gaming have low-mid end graphics cards that do not max newer modern games. So they will run but not always the smoothest or with the best visuals.

So here's what you should look into watching to get a good idea of everything first:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw (The Basics of parts)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls (How to build)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWsYKW-dRXU (A different, shorter how to build video)

NeweggTV has great videos! However, there are tons of other good videos on YouTube that can teach you everything you need to know. And there are lots of places online like Computer forum boards where people can answer any questions you may have.

This all may seem overwhelming but it is definitely worth it in the end, believe me.

Now here is a gaming build that I listed for your budget:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bOc5

A few points:

- If you already have Windows 7 64-bit use that extra $100 to upgrade to a 7970 graphics card.

-You don't have to buy from these vendors, it's just a list but I do suggest shopping where it's cheapest. For example: Amazon usually has Hard Drives and DVD Drives cheaper than Newegg, etc.

-For a DVD drive you don't have to get exactly what I listed just get what is cheapest from where you're buying ($17-18 Lite-On, Sony, Asus, it's all good)

Video Card brand typically doesn't matter either, what matters is the numbers, ex) 7850. Just see which is the cheapest and still has good reviews.

I know this is long dude, but I hope this helps

If I order a PC Game via Amazon...?

Daryl JP

If I order a PC Game via Amazon.co.uk and nobody is there to pick it up, will they post it through my door or leave me a note to pick it up?

Answer
One PC game they will post straight through the door. It only needs to be signed for when you order multiple items that would not fit through the door.

Can I play the Alan Wake game with this video card installed on my pc?

dave j

Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS. I have seen the video card minimum requirements on several websites and they are all different. The other requirements needed that have been mentioned are pretty much all the same and my system has everything else required.

Answer
No. That video card is too weak to run Alan Wake at playable framerates. And no on the second response. You can't 'brake' a computer by running a game on a weak video card. the game will either:
1. crash on start-up
2. will run at unplayable framerates and/or video glitches.

Since a GeForce 8400 GS supports Pixel Shader 3.0 and Dx 10 graphics, it could run the game (provided it doesn't crash for other reasons unknown to us - bad drivers, DirectX or an old operating system (eg WinXP SP2 under which the game can't run) etc. I have a video card roughly twice as powerful as yours and can run Alan Wake on medium with reasonably good framerates. So you get the idea. Download a demo and see for yourself what happens

Video Card for Crysis PC Game?

hesreal2me

Ok so I am looking to upgrade my PC but I want to be smart about it. Right now I have a:
160 HD
Intel 3.2 processor HT Technology
Radeon 9200 SE (Horrible)

I'm not sure if my processor needs to go.
My Hard Drive is fine.
My Video card sucks!

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 730b with (1280 x 1024)
With that resolution I am not sure what I video card I will need to run Crysis on high settings on. I also want to be able to use it for Directx 10.

I was thinking about the Geforce 8800gtx but I don't know that I will need that much since I can only play on (1280 x 1024) Max. Then I thought maybe the Geforce 8600gt but I hear that it would not be good enough but maybe for my resolution it will?

So all and all, do I need a AmD dual core processor? If so which one should I get that can do the job and not cost so much?
And as far as a video card goes, does anyone have an idea of what I should get considering my resolution?

Thanks to all!
I want the game to look the way I have been viewing it on trailers and from what I heard is that Directx 10 was created for this game and using the older Directx 9 would not look near as good. Isn't this true?

Answer
you can get a better graphics card, but if you want a card that will be good enough to handle crysis at high settings, you will need to replace your processor as well. This is because your processor will be holding back the potential of the card.

For your resolution, a 8800 gts 320mb card will be perfect. They took a 8800GTX, disabled a few pipelines and cut off some of the RAM to bring the price down. ( GTX = $550 GTS = $300) whats great about this card is you dont really need much video memory if your running your monitor at low resolutions.

As for your processor, amb dual cores are alright but intels core duos are the best processors out right now for gaming. A amd dual core running at 2.4 can be beat out by a intel core duo e6400 running at 2.13.

By the way, the offical crysis system specs are not out yet so we can only guess what we will need to play this game, but i consider the 8800 GTS the minimum when it comes to running crysis at high settings on directx10.

The next step down in cards would probably be the geforce 8600 which i doubt it can run crysis at anything higher then medium settings because of its crappy 128-bit memory bus that holds it back.

But if all this sounds a little to expensive to you, it pretty much looks like crysis is going to look good on dx9 anyway so go for a x1950 xt or gefore 7900 if you want.

good luck

How much did Xbox And PlayStation make in 2013 over PC gaming?

Nia

I want to know if consoles or PC made more money. If possible I'd like to know specifically how much each of them made. Just a general number, don't have to get into specifics about selling games or the consoles itself. Everyone has their own opinion but I want to know which one is making more money a year.

Answer
Theres currently no hard data on how many PC games were sold exactly in 2013. However, it is known that PC game sales are down by 15% from last year whereas many console sales are up, with the Wii U hitting +233% from its 2012 game sales.

You just cant expect PC to ever really sell like console because of the higher spec demand of games, illusion that high end PCs cost a 2nd mortgage, and pirates taking their fair share from the pot. Theres money to be made if you publish a great PC game like Sims or Battlefield maybe, but as far as I can see, consoles will always reign supreme.

(I'm a PC and Console gamer so I'm just speaking the truth)

can anyone make nude mod for pc games?

theking

i need a nude mod for pc games except gta san and sims..or if u know where i can get it for free plss tell me.also can anyone programe mods.if yes how?
except elder scrolls

Answer
http://dl.qj.net/Oblivion-Nude-Mod-Mods-PC-Gaming-MMORPG-Elder-Scrolls-IV:-Oblivion/pg/12/fid/6011/catid/339

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has reversed gears and given The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a new rating.

The game has gone from a Teen 13+ rating to a Mature 17+ due to âmore detailed depictions of blood and gore than were considered in the original rating, as well as the presence of a locked-out art file or âskinâ that, if accessed through a third party modification to the PC version of the game, allows the user to play with topless versions of female characters.â

The new rating, no doubt, isnât good news for Bethesda, but isnât terribly surprising. In a time when Americaâs puritanical views are wide out in the open, the ESRB finds itself scrambling to prove the industry can police itself. Singled out by legislators trying to make it illegal for stores to sell M titles to minors, the gaming industry is finding itself under the gun. No doubt mods and other hidden surprises in some titles are making it difficult to show the industry can pull off the policing job.

Parents across the country depend on ESRB ratings every day to make sensible choices about the games they bring home for their families," said ESRB president Patricia Vance. "Rating changes are extraordinarily rare, but if ever one does occur, ESRB recognizes that parents must be made aware of the change as quickly as possible so they are certain to have the most current and accurate information."
ESRB Media Release

Personally, Iâm an adamant opponent of restrictions on entertainment. The rights of censorship belong in the hands of viewers and players, and in the case of minors, their parents, not the government.

However, industry-created ratings systems, although quite flawed, do give parents a guideline to work from. In this case, the ESRB seems to have had no choice but do exactly what it did.

The official word from the ESRB is that the title will retain its current content descriptors, but the PC version of the game will pick up a âNudityâ tag until the gameâs been re-mastered to remove the topless skin. This skin is not accessible on the Xbox 360 version.

A patch will soon be made available for the PC version of the game that will disable access to the file with the topless skin. .

Help building a gaming pc budget $700?

Bryan

Is there that big of a difference between the i3 and i5? I don't know which one to get. I would prefer the i5 but it is more expensive, and I heard the i3 is still good. I just want to know will the i3 be able to play future games good still. I have a $700 budget and I want the i5 3570k with the Radeon 6950 but they are expensive. What other choices could I go with that would be good?

Answer
$700 is not enough, even for a good budget gaming PC. Make that $800 and you're in business...

YES, there is a big difference between an i3 and an i5, first of all, i3 are dual core processors while i5 are quad core.
For gaming, you get good enough results with an i3-2130 or even an i3-2100 processor. And YES, it will play most modern games very good, even future games.

All prices are in $USD and in the USA, as of end of April 2012, they might be slightly different one way or the other by now.

The Intel Core i5-3570K is $239.99 and the i5-2500K is $219.99. That will add another $100 or more to your total price, but will also get you far better performance and future proofing.
Radeon HD 6950 is $200 or over, so it will add another $60 or more to the price. it is a much better card than the GTX460 Fermi.
For best possible with the parts above you will spend a total of around $950.

Best Gaming pc build 2012?

Michael

Best possible gaming pc for 500-700 $$$ For crysis and battlefield 3 while recording with fraps

Answer
You'll need a strict minimum of $800 for a gaming rig and that's without an operating system, monitor or other peripherals....

If you aim for games like BF3 or Crysis 1 & 2, I'm afraid you're a bit too low on budget. Both games require at least an HD6970 or GTX560ti core 448 or GTX570, which would already see half of your cash disappear...

Answer
Building your own?

You can post this and shift a few parts but it should be close to what you are looking for.
i5-3570K is a top processor for gaming, and GTX 660 ti is a top graphics card.
Can see what is missing and look for better values than I picked.

Answer
if you build a big powerful computer and use it lots for gamimng, then expect big electricity bills. 600watts is a lot of power, equivalent to 10 conventional light bulbs.
So build something to play the game you want

try this
A see through case full of lights is lousy in a bedroom.
Biggest and best is big on electricity, like having ALL the lights on in your house, expect big electricity bills.
Biggest and best is a lot of heat = lots of fan noise - like sitting in a factory, consider water cool.
Two screens lot of fun, consider a video card that will drive two screens.

If you dont need Vista dont get it, it will be obsolete when windows 7 gets going. Vista is the cause of all the fans and power use. Some graphics cards require vista to run, be aware.

play with this on your existing computer and compare the specs on the new computer
Can this computer run that game?
=========================
Run this program and click the red "We Recommend" where appropriate.
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

Note Halo2 is demanding on the operating system, see what it recommends
Crysis Warhead is demanding on the video card, see what it recommends.
Far Cry and FEAR is demanding on the processor.
WOW is a general all rounder, not as demanding as above.

When you see the Pass result at the top, look carefully as it shows the minimum to the best performance for that game., even though it pass, it may not be enough for maximum settings., so check the resultant Green chart ruler line at the top.

Click the Red fail tab as well.
Note: Sims 3 is listed under T.

After you get an idea of specs, look in the Dell website

Good PC games for Joystick?

Q. What are some good pc games that I could play with my joystick? I have a Logitech joystick but I have not much games to use it for.

Titles you don't have to mention: Microsoft flight sims, flight gear

Thanks for answers
With some flight sims the problem has been my computer which isn't tough enough to run those games smoothly.

Answer
Well most joysticks are used for flying. I have a simple joystick and I use it with Microsoft Flight Simulator. Also, there are plenty of flight games combat and non combat you can use it with. Also games like battlefield, and much more. You can use it for almost any game but would make it quite difficult to play. Now on a side note I like racing games my self as well. Although, I hate using a keyboard or a joystick to play them. So I usually get them on my PS3. When There is one I want for my computer I got a wireless controller that is like the PS3 from logitech. Another great form and use of entertainment,

Good PC games for Joystick? (:?

Q. Can you give some list of pc games for joystick? (:
some sports(except nhl, nba, fifa), fighting or adventure games?

Answer
Do you really mean a Joystick or a Gamepad?
Well, nowadays they don't make many games for Joysticks, but u could consider flying aircrafts games like flight stimulator, or Tom Clanxy's HAWX, or car racing games like the NFS series
but if that's a gamepad, then that's would be a diffrent storyB-)
u have GTA and alike games (Saint Rows,..)
DMC series or Dynasty Warriors, Darksiders,... if u enjoy combos:D
Fighting like Street Fighter?

Building a Gaming PC?

Joseph

What would you recommend?
Looking towards a mid range gaming pc that can at least run Battlefield Bad Company 2 on max graphics at around 40-60 fps
Price range would be around 600-750$ for everything.
:)

Answer
if you are going to make a pc for gaming you are going to need a fast processor. and its going to have to be dual or more if you want it to run smoothly. secondly you are going to need a lot of rams, but that is very easy and cheap to upgrade or install. thirdly you are going to need a graphic card to run games at an awsome display and speed. ussually the least would be 1gb graphic or more to run some of the modern game real well. but after all that is placed you are now going to need a stronger power supply to run all this upgrades, or you will atleast need to set your bios to handle this.

there also other ways such as overclocking your system thru the bios
but it dosent work on all of them

oh and for the proccesor it is going to have to be atleast 2.0ghz dual core

Look I want to get something that for 2 years will run all games on mid-high settings i don't know much about computers i don't know how to build so unless you can tell me how to build it then just recommend the best computer u know for around 700.

Answer
That depends, do you have any parts with you currently? I have something around a $700 tower build on my profile page which you can check out. However, if you'll also need a monitor, OS, peripherals, then you're looking at around a $400-$500 tower build and the rest goes towards these things..................!!

Best Gaming PC for £700?

Q. I just was wondering what is the best spec'd gaming pc I'd get for £700. Suggestions thoughts?

Answer
$1125=700 British pounds, so go to Cyberpower and choose a pc to configurate [click on 'configurator'] click on one that is $800 to $900 and add a good video card in the 150 to 200 dollar range. Make sure the os is Windows7. Then find one similar to it in the UK. I'm in the USA so I don't know many British websites. Pricewatch UK is one.

500 Dollar Gaming pc?

Carlos

I am looking to buy a gaming desktop for 500 dollars or so, I am not sure what to look for as I have been a console player pretty much all my gaming career, all I know is that i want it to play bf3, skyrim, diablo 3 the old republic, on as high a setting as possible. I will be using this desktop on my 43" plasma, so it would need an hdmi output.

Could anyone direct me to a pc such as this? I have searched to no avail, mostly because I am not sure what I do and don't need. All i now are the basic things, such as I wont need an optical drive, a 500gb hdd will work just fine, and i would like a quad core, an I5 or amd's equivalent would be fine by me.
No optical drive because I have plenty laying about.

Answer
Your budget is low for high graphics game. You can have a gaming pc with this budget but it will get old pretty soon.
I have built a PC specifications for you.

Cabinet- Cooler Master Elite 371 RC-371-KKN1 ATX Mid-Tower Case ($ 40)
Power Supply- DiabloTek PHD450 450-Watt ($ 30)
Motherboard- MSI H61M-P23 B3 Intel H61 Motherboard ($ 60)
Processor- Intel Core i3-2100 ($ 125)
Graphics Card- EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti ($ 122)
RAM- Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz ($ 22)
Hard Disk- Western Digital Caviar Blue Hard Drive 500GB ($ 75)
Optical Drive- Sony Optiarc 24x DVDRW Drive ($ 18)
Keyboard/Mouse- Logitech MK120 Keyboard and Mouse Combo ($ 17)

I hope you like it. That is the best you can get in $ 500 budget.

Note: Monitor is excluded in this. A nice monitor will cost you around $ 100. So I was not able to fit monitor in the budget.

Laptop or Desktop help for Gaming?

A.

I'm about to upgrade with a new computer as the laptop i use atm is a couple of years old and won't play the higher end games such as Starcraft2, Crysis and so on.
I've been looking at a 2010 iMac 21.5" or a 2010 Macbook 13".
Ofc the iMac is more powerful, Much more powerful so the best for playing high end games but i'm not used to a desktop computer i've spent my entire 'gaming life' on a laptop.
To see if i could use a desktop comfortably i got a cheap keyboard and mouse and hooked it up too my laptop and played it like it was a monitor and it was sooooo hard i felt like i needed another set of hands (If that makes sense) constantly moving from mouse to keyboard instead of having a close together trackpad with all the keys reachable with just one hand.
Is there any gamer out there that uses a desktop and can help me. Is it just something i'll get used to ? If there are any tips that will help me ? Maybe being left handed contributes to the difficulty ? Perhaps there's a 'Best place' to have the keyboard and mouse.
Or should i just stick to a laptop a stop moaning about better performance desktops ^_^

Answer
If you want to game, stay away from Macs. Yeah, desktops are not designed to be used with just one hand. Usually you have one hand on the keyboard and another on the mouse. Keep the mouse and keyboard side by side. You'll actually find that a desktop will be easier to use once you get used to it. A mouse will prove to be easier to use and more accurate than a trackpad. Whenever I use my laptop, I always hook up a mouse.

Gaming pc diy kit help?

MR TROLL M

I really want a gaming pc, and after a few months i finally have enough to buy a kit to build a pc. But i have a few questions. This is the link to the kit i want to buy

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1243056

Now i was wondering, does this kit have everything i need to actually use the pc when it is built, or do i need to buy additonal stuff to get it up and running? Also, does the kit come with instructions to build the pc? (This is my first time building a pc)

P.S: keep in mind i'm a 14 year old who isn't old enough to get a job so my income comes from mowing lawns, washing cars, babysitting etc. so if i do need to buy additional things try to keep it within a reasonable price.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
heey nice seeing people your age building pc's! On you-tube are lots of tutorials to build a pc, building a pc is for almost all systems the same. The kit will rune some games in very low graphics because you do not have a graphics card in it, you will be able to use your pc but not running graphic intensive or even medium games, go on the site and buy a GPU (graphics card) I recommend a AMD card, AMD is the brand and the models are named Radeon. you don't have to spend a lot on the graphics card but the more you spend on it the better the games will look and be playable. hope I have helped you a bit!

Answer
Everything sounds good, however for gaming I would recommend the following:

MoBo and CPU: AMD CPU and a AMD MoBo with SLI capability from MSI, Gigabyte, or ASUS.
Graphics Card: 8800GT SC'd, KO, or SSC versions (cheaper and run better than the GTS, who knows why.)

Everything else looks fine with the parts I've recommended and your parts. AMD processors are much better at gaming than Intel, and you can get a good Dual-core AMD 2.1Ghz CPU for about $70 bucks on Newegg.com.

Best laptop for gaming for 700 pounds.?

looking at a dell xps 15 with a i7 processor and nvidia 435m. just wondering if i could get anything better for the money. will be using mostly for gaming.

Answer
Laptops are not that good for gaming. The graphics is usually anboard and you can
t upgrade that card if it won't play the latest games well, because there isn't a removable graphics card in them. It is integrated and is on the motherboard. Want better graphics, have to buy a better laptop.
Get a PC for gaming. More freedom to change / upgrade components

Is This A Good Gaming PC *WILL THIS RUN 2013 GAMES*?

Answer
It's not bad, but it depends on what kind of games you are looking to play, some of the higher end 2013 games may be harder, but with a little better video card it could probably make the cut. The dual core processor is on the lower end, but not too bad. You may be running on lower graphics, but it will likely do what you want it to. Will it play Crysis? No, probably not efficiently, but with those specs it should easily be able to play most indie games and many AAA titles.

Intel Dual-Core i3-3220 processor. 3.30GHz, 3MB L3 Cache
-8GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 16GB).
-The iBUYPOWER Intel Dual CoreProcessor Desktop With i3-3220 Processor, WA928B gives you the power to handle most power-hungry applications and tons of multimedia work
-2TB SATA hard drive. Store 1,300,000 photos, 571,000 songs or 1,053 hours of HD video and more on the black iBUYPOWER Gamer Power Desktop WA928B with 8GB memory and 2TB hard drive.
24x Double Layer DVD±R/RW Drive. Watch movies, and read and write CDs and DVDs in multiple formats
-10/100 Fast Ethernet. Connect to a broadband modem or wired broadband router with wired Ethernet
NVIDIA GeForce GT630 Graphics. With 2GB dedicated graphics memory

The NVIDIA GeForce GT630 Graphics card should be able to play most high end graphics games without a problem at all, but you may not be playing on the highest graphics settings due to the lower end processor.

PSP or decent gaming PC?

looi_qi_we

Which one is better?

I personally don't like the graphic in PSP, but good gaming PC seems to be quite expensive (or the other way round)? Any comment?

Answer
Yes a gaming PC is a LOT better then a PSP and in games as far as I am concerned, but it can cost around $1000 dollars for a gaming PC with dedicated graphics and the like.

My opinion is a specific high quality gaming PC beats PSP hands down... unless your factoring price...

Is PC Gaming worth the 1000 dollars?

Notyap11

MEH. I really want a gaming pc and they look so much better than consoles with mods and stuff. My Xbox 360 recently broke so I was gonna by a new one but then I discovered pc gaming and I already have a build picked out and and games like bf3 and skyrim pre ordered for pc! But now I'm considering not getting the pc because it's going to set me back 1000 dollars which is a lot of money for me. I play video games every day (RPG's, Shooters, and some Strategy games) so please tell me in detail. Why is pc gaming so much better than consoles and is it really worth the 1000 bucks?.

Answer
PC Gaming is soooooo much better than consoles. First off, you don't have annoying immature brats shouting into their headset at all times online. Second is Steam. Steam has the best deals you will find on games ANYWHERE. You can find games on steam, and I mean full modern games for deals as low as around 5 bucks. So paying the money is really worth it for the pc itself because it pays itself off really. Third, Gaming on PC Looks A LOT. Better then on consoles. Modern games on Consoles usually run at medium settings by pc specs. If you're playing on PC you can get the full graphics that you can't get on consoles since consoles are 6 year old tech. As for what you said about PC Gaming being 1000 bucks, you can find gaming Pc's for a lot less on newegg.com. Do not buy alienware, they are overpriced and not worth the money at all. PC gaming is really going to benefit you with it's prices for it's game though like I already said. And hey, if you are going to get a Gaming pc, then add me on Steam, @ zach7zach. See you online.

FX8350 / HD7770 is okay, you can play all games with that build but of course only on mid-high settings.....

best if you pair that up with a monitor that only has a native resolution of 1440 x 900 so that you could have better gaming performance out of it.

Good medium to low quality PC games?

Gus Peters

I have a PC that's pretty crapy. I know it can play starwars battlefront 2, if you don't know that then like battle field 2 anyways i was wondering if anyone knows good low to medium quality games for the pc.

Answer
Skipping the derp suggestion for you to upgrade, I assume you have an old video card that doesn't support DirectX 10 graphics and Shader Model 3.0 If that's true, then you can forget about Fallout 3, Bioshock, Modern Warfare or any such game. But there are a lot of games that look good and only use PS 2.0 or below. It's too bad you didn't list your pc specs, but try these:

FPS shooter/action: Quake 3/4, Half Life 1/2, Half Life Opposing Force (expansion), Unreal Tournament (aka UT99), Unreal Tournament 2003/2004, No One Lives Forever 2, Serious Sam First Encounter / Second Encounter, Max Payne 1/2, Postal 2 Fudge Pack, GTA 3/Vice City/San Andreas, Cstrike 1.6, Call of Duty 1/2, Call of Duty 1 United Offensive (expansion), Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Delta Force Black Hawk Down, Farcry 1, Vietcong, Armed Assault 1, Blood 2, In Cold Blood, Aliens vs Predator 2, Mobile Forces, Contract Jack, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Stalker Shadows of Chernobyl, Doom 3, Painkiller Black Edition, Quake Wars Enemy Territory, Freespace 1/2

Adventure: PoP Sands of Time / Warrior Within / Two Thrones, Enclave, Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy

Horror: Silent Hill 2/3/4, Resident Evil 4, Clive Barker's Undying, Condemned Criminal Origins, Doom 3, Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth, The Suffering, Alone in the Dark 4 The new nightmare, Penumbra Black Plague,

Stealth - Thief Gold, Thief 2, Splinter Cell 1/2/3, Hitman 1/2/3/Blood Money, Deus Ex 2, Thief 3 Deadly Shadows,

RPG: Gothic 1/2/3, Nox, Diablo 1/2, VTM Bloodlines, Elder Scrolls - Morrowind / Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights 1/2, Dungeon Siege 2, Dungeon Keeper 2, Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale 1/2, Beyond Divinity, Arcanum

Racing: Flatout 1/2, NFS underground 2, NFS Most Wanted/Carbon, Crashday, Euro Truck Simulator 1

RTS and RTT strategy: Warcraft 3 reign of chaos, Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, Age of Mythology, age of empires 2/3, c&c Generals, Blitzkrieg 1, Rome Total War, Medieval Total War, Stronghold, Earth 2150, Praetorians, Rise of Nations 1, Empire Earth 1/2

look them up on youtube to see which one you like. Buy many of them at www.gog.com for very little money

2013 <400$ Budget Gaming PC?

Q. I am building my first gaming PC and need help finding the right parts. I can only spent $400, maybe a bit more. These are the specs I need:

Video Card: At least 1GB memory.
Optical: Already have.
Hard Drive: HDD around 500GB, but would rather trade speed for size
OS: Plan to use Linux, so this is free
RAM: 4-8GB
Motherboard: Want at least one USB 3.0 in the back. I don't know much about PCI and PCIe, but need slot for graphics card, wifi card (if motherboard doesn't have already), and plan to buy internal capture card for recording Xbox games in the future.
WiFi card: If motherboard doesn't have
CPU: Best for money
Case: Doesn't have to be pretty, just functional
Fans: if you recommend extra fans?
Power Supply: Safe and efficient. Not too expensive

I need this to play primarily Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Left4Dead2 and other games that may require more power.

Answer
Here is a good build for moderate gaming.

Hi. I've been recenlty building some pc's (online) and found one i really like for about $900 ($1000 with shipping/tax) I was wondering if this was a good gaming pc, or if not, what shohuld i upgrade! Heres a pic of the specs! Theres a lot...
http://gyazo.com/cda3f54385ddf1d60f756ddcff44fd65

Answer
Its sure is a good gaming rig, the processor is top notch and the amount and type of RAM is good so you won't face any lag or processing issues ever. Gaming mouse and keyboards are a personal preference but the one with this bundle is quite good and above average.
PSU is enough to power up all the components though i recommend that you go for a 500W or 600W PSU for keeping you future proof and also coz its the life line of all your expensive components so keep it the best you can.
The only thing that problematic here is the graphic card as it a 4GB DDR3 which is only suited for multi-monitor setups and will not give you a very good performance while gaming as a DDR3 memory is slow and can never process all that 4GB of memory in tight and fast situations like gaming and would prove to be a bottle neck for all the other high quality components in your rig so i highly recommend that you go for either of these they are in the same price range as the one that you are planning to buy:
Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7750 1 GB GDDR5
Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 1GB DDR5
If you can extend your budget then do go for:
PowerColor AMD/ATI HD 7750 1 GB GDDR5 or
Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5

Other than this you have a very good machine change the GPU and i'll rate it 8/10

You can see this article if you like for any further guidance:

Building a Gaming PC?

Adam Matti

So im wanting to build me a gaming PC do to the fact that my laptop is only a 1.0 GHz processor and 4 GB of ram. What im wandering is if any one knows of a cheap but yet good company i can get parts for. I have an old Dell desk top running Windows 98 that i plan on salvaging to use for the tower and any thing else i may be able to salvage from it. The old thing crashed and no longer works therefor i wanna salvage as much as possible. The only games i will be running is Farming Simulator 2013 and maby GTA V ,and The Sims 3. So its nothing major that i will putting on it. I'm not wanting to spend to much cause i have a vehicle to buy in April. but any help be great! Thanks in advanced. P.S. I already have a keyboard/ mouse ,and monitor all i need is the computer hardware stuff.

Answer
GTA 5 isn't out for the PC yet but has been 99% confirmed.

To start out with, I hope you have at least 650 or so $$ spread out.

I can't really help you out here because I usually do higher end stuff with Intel and Nvidia, but..

You need a

AMD processor
AMD Videocard
Corsair 500W PSU
Best mobo that fits your cpu's socket type. (ATX mobo)
ATX Compatible mid tower case from NZXT
Optical drive
Windows 7 home premium
8 / 4 GB DDR3 1600 RAM
500Gb HDD

You can't really salvage much since your computer is so outdated. The tower wouldn't even support the motherboard yet the videocard.

Go to PCPARTPICKER.com and after you ask a few more questions on here about what hardware to get, go to that website and input all that stuff. Leave about 50$ difference of the price there and your max budget to compensate for your taxes and shipping.

Don't listen to the guy above.

I want around 4gb - 6gb ram.. Decent CPU for gaming

Answer
Hi

You will get very good gaming PC within that budget.

Here, this article will surely help you.

http://www.knowledgeportal.in/2010/12/best-pc-within-your-budget/

You can refer to specs of "VERY GOOD GAMING PC WITHIN 35000:-"

The currency given their is in "Indian Rupee".

1 Pound = 70 Rupee.

So 35000 Rs = ~ £500.

For graphic card, you should opt for GTX 460 (1GB).

where can i find a good gaming pc base unit for under £500?

ALBa 185

Hi i just play things like war rock/ css / WOW thing is i'm running it on a 5 year old dell and i'm at a huge disadvantage. can it not be dell aswell i'm fed of them because there adverts dont match the specs in the actual site. thank you. PS remember just a base unit from UK

Answer
Dells aren't as great as everyone seems to think they are. The best thing to do and the cheapest (at least here in the US) is to build one yourself. You can build an awesome gaming rig for around 1200USD or 607.593 (that's pounds right?) This would include everything, the mobo, core2 processor, video card, sound card, ram, a WD Raptor HD. THen if you don't know how to put it all together you could find someone to and it would still be cheaper than buying a new one.

I am considering getting a pc mainly for gaming (I would still use it for other things of course), but I do not want to spend over 600 dollars. For that budget, shoud I just get the ps4 or xbox one? If not, then where do I start?

Answer
PC gaming is different to console gaming.
There are more games for consoles than PC, but PC gaming is a bit quicker and more flexible/dexterous. Can also be more technical depending on the game.
