How to build a gaming pc?

Tyler

I am considering getting a pc mainly for gaming (I would still use it for other things of course), but I do not want to spend over 600 dollars. For that budget, shoud I just get the ps4 or xbox one? If not, then where do I start?

Answer
PC gaming is different to console gaming.
There are more games for consoles than PC, but PC gaming is a bit quicker and more flexible/dexterous. Can also be more technical depending on the game.

CPU:
Motherboard:

Is it possible to get a good gaming computer for under 600 dollars?

the_music_

I'm looking to get a new comp and I want one thats got a good graphics card and processor

Answer
any pc will be ok as long as you have a good grafix card, if you spend aroungd £125 you will get a good card, then just look for a decent pc, you may get a good deal from you local retailer, ask for pci express tho, its the newest thing in grafix cards., my pc is p4 3.2 with 512mb ddr geforce 7300gl pci express, with 2 gb ram. its fast enough for any game, it cost me £300 to build myself

what is the best gaming laptop under 600 dollars?

Q. I want to know this because I don't have a lot of money for my computer so i'm trying to find a good deal. Please don't put alienware as the answer because there way to expensive.

Answer
You'll be better off building your own gaming pc. You can build a pretty decent one with $600. This is just from my experience.

decent pc tower under 600 dollars?

the amster

ok im not big on computers but im gettin there im lookin for a tower that can play games like team fortress 2 left for dead 2 all that good stuff but nothing fancy under 600 $$$ like i said thanks for the help
im sorry i 4got but here are the things i need to play the games Supported OS: Windows® 7 / Vista / Vista64 / XP
Processor: Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz
Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with Shader model 3.0. NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better
Hard Drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Recommended: Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Answer
I can only recommend a built tower with the parts. I will not now, nor ever, recommend a brand-in-a-box for gaming. Here's the list:

CPU - AMD Phenom II X3 710 2.6GHz Triple-Core: $110
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103648
Motherboard - ECS Black Series A780GM-A: $60 ($40 after $20 mail-in rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135075&cm_re=%22a780gm-a%22-_-13-135-075-_-Product
RAM - 4GB PQI Turbo DDR2 667: $86
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141240
Hard Drive - 320GB WD SATA: $48
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136098
Video Card - GeForce 9500 GT: $55 ($35 after $20 mail-in-rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162019&cm_re=9500_gt-_-14-162-019-_-Product
Optical Drive - LG 22X DVD-RW: $27
Case/PSU - Logisys Black/Silver Case w/480W Power Supply: $30
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811148045
OS - Windows 7 Professional OEM: $140 (Pro has an XP mode which might prove useful with some games.)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116758&cm_re=windows_7_pro_oem-_-32-116-758-_-Product

Total: $556 (-$40 in mail-in rebates to ECS and Galaxy)

This exceeds your specs to make the games run well as opposed to just running. :-)

It seems that a previous poster forgot to include Windows 7. That's not good. I also don't know about that PCUSA company. That price looks too good to be true and I've been around PCs for over 20 years and I've never heard of them. I read their company statement and whoever wrote that sure doesn't have English as their first language.

gaming laptops under 600 dollars?

Mr M4

I want a budget gaming laptop. got 600 and i need a laptop that could run games like battlefield 3 and Crysis on High.
i7 would be great haha

Thanks

Answer
The first answer is pretty accurate ^^. Secondly desktops are much better and cheaper for gaming. Thinking about the numbers in my head 1k+ sounds about right for what I put into my computer. I got a decent deal with Newegg they always have great prices so I'm sure without all the discounts I could've reached beyond 1.3k or maybe beyond. Anyway not to sh*t on your parade the best gaming comps I know of come from Origin PC. I've heard good things about Alienware as well.

Best gaming computer under 600 dollars?

Joe

It needs to be able to run minecraft over 125 fps, have fast internet, good memory, play other games great too, it doesn't matter whether it is a laptop or a desktop just as long as it meets my requirements.

Answer
If you want a killer gaming pc then increase your budget a bit, around $1000 will buy you a nice gaming pc which can run almost any game available at decent fps.

Following is config i would suggest(I own this config pc and i know it runs everything so good)

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core ($209.99)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660, GDDR 5, 2 GB, PCI 3 ($200)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($66.98)
BenQ VA LED GW2255 21.5-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor ($130.77)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

And if you want to stick with 600$ budget then compromise on few things.
Intel Core i3-2120 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 GHz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 ($122.37)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, GDDR 5, 1 GB, PCI 3 ($109.99$)
Corsair Vengeance 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($ 38)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
BenQ GL2055 20-Inch LED-lit Monitor ($89.99)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

Note: All prices are from Amazon, so it is possible you might get some parts for lower price from your local retailer.

Okay so I am a thirteen year old kid who has saved up six hundred dollars to buy a gaming computer... The only question I have is, what computer should I get that runs at least 60-70 fps in skyrim and battlefield 3 for under 600 dollars? Any ideas?

Answer
I'd get this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229285

It'll do what you want.

Those people who are saying you're out of your mind are idiots. Battlefield 3 can be run easily on a $600 pc if the graphics are all turned down to low.

Building a pc would probably let you run the game on medium settings, or save you a hundred. I built my PC for $1100 to run it on ultra, and I'm 16. Just watch tutorial videos, like the How to Build a Computer series on Newegg's youtube channel.

I had a great lap top before, until I tried putting Sims on it... I really want to find a new one that can handle games that use a lot of memory... I am also interested in putting things like iTunes and Adobe on it, PLEASE HELP!

Answer
Well. Any laptop with the right space will play Sims.

Now, You will have to put iTunes and Adobe on it yourself. Sometimes they come with Adobe on it as mine did.

I have looked on some websites and here's what I have...

First of all, Here is an option that Dell provide, it's Personalize your laptop.... http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/Personalizeed/design_studio/en/us/design_studio?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
