Have $1000 to built a good gaming desktop?

Q. Any recomendation where to buy. Fry's has some parts but it ends out to be expensive and too many rebate stuff. There are a few on ebay but is missing like sound card and other stuff. U guys know some site where I can buy the whole gaming pc or parts. I'm trying to only use $1000.

Answer
My suggestion is if you are going to spend $1000. You spend it wisely and you build your own. Itâs how you build a true gaming computer. www.newegg.com can set you completely up with that. $1000 will get you a good computer, and generally I see sites rip people off for there "gaming" computers which really are just decent computers in pretty cases. Either way for lots of speed no matter where you go look for these key things

Probably AMD 64bit duel core, or you could get away for a single to save money and spend it more in other areas... Either way AMD typically the gamers CPU Plus cheaper

Memory At least 1gig or more of DUEL Channel DDR 400 or DDR2. I suggest Kingston PNY Corsair Crucial Geil. Also look for a CAS latency that hopefully is lower then 2.5.. No higher then 3

as for the motherboard. Go for a VIA or AMD or NFORCE (NVIDIAâs chipset) and the board should be a one of these Gigabyte, Asus, Epox, MSI. These tend to be the better boards.

Hard drive wise, space is up to you, however get SATA2 3.0Gbs and I suggest you get 2 of the same size ones, and if you can get them in a RAID 0 this will double your hard drive speed just about, by making the computer see them as one, so then when it reads and writes it actually does it to both hard drives at once instead of just one.. Makes it a ton faster.' Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi are good hard drives. 7200rpms or faster

Video card ATI or NVIDIA.. Personally I am an ATI guy, but either way, go for PCIexpress 16x and something in the 150-250range or so price wise.

Then think about a possible higher end psu 450-500watts

Now if you have not had much experience with building computers a lot of this may be a little over whelming, however wherever you go to buy it or whatever, remember most of these key things, and you are guaranteed to get yourself a nice gaming rig.

Good Luck

can someone help me build a gaming desktop pc for under $1000?

Eric Opper

I know most of the parts of a computer but i dont trust myself when it comes to picking out all the parts i need to build my own gaming pc. I am on a 1000 dollar budget but want a great gaming pc that can also help speed up my architecture programs im running.

I want intel i7 quad core processor(hopefully 3.0 but can go with 2.8),
atleast 1 GB nvidia or AMD video memory,
8 or 12 GB RAM
and a great cooling system so my system never overheats or anything.
a cover that allows massive cooling

these are just specs that i'd like to have but if my expectations are too high or not high enough then i trust your judgement! i dont know anything about motherboards or cooling systems or covers. please email me at eao2012@gmail.com if you have questions! thanks!
hmm ok well what would it cost then for the type of computer i want? i am not limited to 1000 but dont want 1500 or up

Answer
$1000 is too high budget!!
Best priced gaming machine.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz for $189
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727
This is the best gaming processor and the highest AMD processor. It
beats the lowest Core i7 processor in gaming performance and other
benchmarks. The lowest Core i7 processor is the Core i7 920 2.66GHz
which costs $288. So this processor is $100 lesser than Core i7 920,
but beats it in gaming benchmarks and Compression and Decompession
speeds, etc.. The Core i7 is better in movie encoding and stuff.
And the stock clock speed of the Phenom II X4 is 3.4GHz whereas the
Core i7 is 2.66GHz. The AMD Phenom II X4 965 is a black edition
processor so it has unlocked CPU Multiplier, so it overclocks like
heaven. The AMD can reach 4.2GHz speeds easily due to this, and still
remain stable and the temperature under 60C which is normal. The Core
i7 920 cannot overclock that much. It can go to 3.4GHz but you have to
increase the voltage to the processor and use water cooling blocks to
make it stable. This is dangerous to the processor. Just see the
customer review of the Phenom II X4 processor in that newegg page.
But the Core i7 processors which cost above $400, dont have any match
now. But soon AMD is bringing in mass market 6 core processor which
would be cheaper than those Core i7 4 core processors.

Motherboard:
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G Motherboard for $85
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131398
This is AM3 socket motherboard for AMD processors and supports DDR3
RAMs upto 8GB.

If you go for the Core i7 processors then the similar motherboard
range starts from $189. Huge Saving!
And the main advantage of getting the AMD processor and motherboard is
due to its socket AM3 which is future proof. The Intels change their
socket with every new processor series so that they can sell more
motherboards with each upgrade. Like Core i7 has LGA 1366 whereas
Core2Duo has LGA 775. So in the future if any new processor comes and
you want to upgrade to it, then you have to throw this costly
motherboard and buy a new one for that processor.
But all future AMD processors are going to remain AM3 socket, so this
motherboard will work even if you upgrade to any new processor from
AMD(6 core, 8 core, 10 core whatever).
AMD and Intel are both launching their 6 core processors, the Intel
Core i9 and the AMD Hexacore. But the Core i9 socket will be different
from Core i7. Whereas the AMD processor will still be AM3.
So you tension of future upgrading is minimized.

RAM:
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 RAMs for $79
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227346

This motherboard for AMD has 4 RAM slots. These are 2Gb x 2 RAMs
and will take two slots. Presently no application or game in the world
requires more than 3GB. So 4Gb is more than enough. Adding more RAM is
wastage as it wont be used. When you will really require more RAM i.e
after 3 - 4 years then add in another 4GB.
Single 4GB RAMs are costing hell.

Graphics Card:
HIS H577FM1GD Radeon HD 5770 DirectX 11 support for $162
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161317
Future Proof Next-Gen gaming!!

What about NVIDIA you ask ? In case you didn't notice, at the green
side NVIDIA right now is on a DirectX 11 bashing marketing program.
Their program goes like this: DX11 games won't arrive until 2010 so
why purchase a DX11 card ? Well, next year when a lot of games will
start supporting DX11, you can rest assured that your card is
compatible and that you are not stuck with an outdated DX10.0 class
product. For your future game path, DX11 is an upgrade train you do
not want to miss out on. Why is NVIDIA doing this ? Well, they just do
not have their DX11 class products ready and selling on the market.

Power Supply:
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W for $40
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341016

Computer Case:
COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP for $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196
Excellent cooling!

Monitor:
Samsung 24" for $209
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001338

Keyboard and mice: $30

gaming desktop for 800$?

Asmira

Hi! I was wondering if it was possible to find a good, complete (with mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitor, etc.) pc for gaming at 800$ can. Crysis doesn't have to work though but other games yes. Suggestion of building it myself can't be considered. ^^
Any suggestions? Thank you!

Answer
Ech. Though I'm reluctant to suggest ANY computer under $800 for gaming, you will absolutely be able to find a good deal using the little-known Dell Outlet store here: http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/xpsdt?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh

As of this moment there's a perfectly acceptable gaming system for $750 here: http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/topics/global.aspx/arb/online/en/InventorySearch?c=us&cs=22&l=en&lob=DIM&MODEL_DESC=XPS%20210&s=dfh

The best games you have ever played?

Darcy

What are your absolute favourite games on any console and any genre?
Mine would be:
-Fallout 3 / New Vegas
-Mass Effect series
-Gears of War series
-Battlefield 3
-Red Dead Redemption
-Assassins Creed series
-Borderlands
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have probably forgotten some :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But what are your favourite games of all time?

Answer
I can not pick just 1 game really as a personal best of all time as there have been many in the last 3 decades that I loved. So, my personal list tends to fluctuate from day to day.

At the moment my top ten are:

1) Baldur's Gate 2 (PC - 2000)
2) Dragon Age: Origins (PC/XB360/PS3 - 2009)
3) Star Control 2 (PC/3DO - 1992)
4) Diablo 2 (PC - 2000)
5) Mass Effect 2 (PC/XB360/PS3 - 2010)
6) Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (PC/XB360/PS3 - 2011)
7) Dungeon Keeper 1 (PC - 1997)
8) Starcraft 1 (PC - 1998)
9) UFO: Enemy Unknown (PC - 1995)
10) Master of Orion 2 (PC - 1996)

Like I said, this is MY list of MY favorites. Just because it isn't on this list doesn't mean I don't like it, I just preferred these. The order is more or less correct, but it does tend to fluctuate. Baldur's Gate 2 is almost always my number one game. I just utterly loved it and still do.

Any good games with my pc requriments?

Can this PC run new games, and on what settings?

Answer
Its good, capable of running almost all games on high settings. However you're a bit low in the graphics card department.

When you reach the GeForce GTX 650 Ti/Radeon HD 7790 and higher level of graphics cards, then you'll want to invest in a 2GB model, because some games such as (most notably Skyrim) require more than 1GB of video RAM to run smoothly on ultra settings at 1920x1080 resolution.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6359/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-review/6

If your monitor resolution is 1680x1050 or lower then 1GB cards are fine. However, you're wasting money by purchasing a card of the 7850 level and settling for a 1GB model. If you upgrade to a 1080p monitor in the future, you won't be able to play higher-end games on ultra because of the lack of VRAM.

Also, the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost is slightly better than the Radeon HD 7850, and usually costs a little less.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_GTX_650_Ti_Boost/9.html
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2013/03/26/nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-2gb-review/4

I recommend getting a 2GB Radeon HD 7850 or GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost, whichever you can find at a better price. If you can afford to spend $30 more, move up to a Radeon HD 7870 or GeForce GTX 660.

Drop the CPU down to a Core i5 3350 or 3330 if necessary, the impact of a stronger GPU more than offsets the slightly weaker CPU. Any 2nd or 3rd generation Core i5 is plenty for gaming.

Also make sure you have a good quality power supply (I don't see a PSU listed in your specs)

How to build a gaming pc?

Tyler

I am considering getting a pc mainly for gaming (I would still use it for other things of course), but I do not want to spend over 600 dollars. For that budget, shoud I just get the ps4 or xbox one? If not, then where do I start?

Answer
PC gaming is different to console gaming.
There are more games for consoles than PC, but PC gaming is a bit quicker and more flexible/dexterous. Can also be more technical depending on the game.

Best computer for gaming and drawing? Under $1000?

HONK!

I might get a new computer for Christmas cuz the one I have is old and getting chewed by viruses but I'm wondering which on is the best. I'm looking for a computer under $500 or less. I go on the internet a lot and play a lot of games. I play the Sims (1 and 2 all expansion packs), Zoo Tycoon (1 and maybe 2), Roller Coaster Tycoon (2 and 3, all expansion packs) BioShock (1 and 2) maybe a couple of games more and RuneScape. I download additional items from the internet, too. I don't play new games like WoW or Diablo.
I don't want to use a computer COMPLETELY for gaming. I want to use it for other stuff like Microsoft Word for school. I like to draw too...

I maybe asking too much, but I wonder which computer will be perfect for all this? Thank u so much for answering!

P.S. it doesn't have to come with a monitor, mouse, speakers, keyboard, etc.

*under $1000 or less

Answer
BUILD ONE!
For $1,000 or maybe up to $1,200 you can make yourself a very good, almost top edge gaming PC:

BEST GAMING DESKTOP PC BUILD FOR THE MONEY (under $1,000.00USD for the tower only)
Monitor, keyboard and mouse can add from $175 to over $500, depending on size and model you want.
All prices are in $USD and in the USA, current as of December 2012 and they might be slightly different one way or the other by now.
Also, some shipping charges may apply to some of the items.
Add your state sales tax if you reside in NJ, CA or TN - that's where Newegg has warehouses.
Look for similar parts on Amazon, Tiger Direct, etc if you want to avoid paying Uncle Sam.

FACT: INTEL IS A MUCH BETTER PROCESSOR FOR GAMING THAN ANY AMD.

is a gaming pc worth the money?

help me

i want to build a gameing pc but is 5 to 8 years will it still play games or will i need to upgrade parts. and if i need to upgrade parts would the only thing be the video card because if i need to upgrade the processor i dont want to get a gaming pc would gust buy a new xbox when they come out with a new one. because i dont buy xbox or ps3 because they make a new one like every 3 to 4 years and i wanted a gameing pc because i would not half to buy new parts it would gut work so would i need a new video card every 3 years are could my video card i get now work for 6 to 8 years but the new games just have not as good graphics?

Answer
You will always need to upgrade, that's just life for us gamers.

The real advantage is that you can upgrade parts at different intervals with a PC instead of having to buy a whole new console when newer games come out.

The PC may cost more at first but it can also do a helluva lot more than a console can.

pc gaming build for under 1000 including a screen?

the rock

rite now i'm eyeing for a phenom II with sapphire hd 4870 2gb (total of both) x2 graphics card, but i am not requiring it except it has to have to be a processor and a graphics card that suits my needs stated in paragraph 3

i am also thinking about getting a HP Refurbished 2159m 21.5"5ms 1000:1 300 cd/m² 1920 x 1080 Resolution monitor that costs 149.99 at costco

i am really wanting bang for my buck so please try get under 1000
all i want is to play gta 4 at at least 30-40 fps (getting 12-20 now) and for it to play some of the future games like modern warfare 2 at decent fps, too...

plz respond and 10 points for whoever answers best and reasonably
btw, i don't want anything to be used with prices from new egg. plz use infotechnow.com for your prices because it is local and i know that the parts will not be broken during shipping because i can just drive there
wtf did i just say i said infotechnow u lazy poop sniff. read the whole thing... this is for the guy who answered second...

btw ibuypower sucks cuz i had a laptop with them that lasted only 1 month.
cyberpower sucks too

Answer
I've done it! Here is is, raking in at $900.92 here is your ass-kicking machine!

Specs-

Lian-Li Case with a window
AMD 3 CrossfireX ready Mo-Bo
AMD Phenom II Quad Core 2.6 GHz (Great Overclocker)
Asus HD 4870 ATi Graphics Card
2 GB/4 GB DDR 3 Memory 1066 Clock
640 GB Sata Hard Drive
700 Watt Power Supply
22x DvD Burner / CD-RW/ etc...

Add all of these to your cart (if you feel like getting more performance get another stick of the same ram I suggested)

Another note- if for some reason games aren't playing as fast as you want them to (months down the road) later (which won't happen) you can always drop in another video card (a duplicate of the one that's in there now) run crossfire and that will give you about 1.5x the video rendering performance of the current build (which won't really be necessary.)

Also for some reason that website only sells IDE dvd/cd burners so you will most likely need a IDE --> SATA converter : http://www.infotechnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=5524

What is the best gaming desktop I can get for around 900-1000$?

Kody Shain

And NO making my own is not an option, i can be from anywhere, alienware, cyberpower, ibuypower, what ever, i want the best bang for my buck.
it can be from anywhere***
it can be from anywhere***

Answer
If you want the best bang for your buck you need a custom built computer. Alienware will cost you at least 2 times more for the same specs.
I understand you may not know how to design a build or put it together, that's where I come in. I can build you a great gaming desktop for $1000 (You'll pay upwards of $1500 from a retail manufacturer for the same specs). I will figure out your needs, design a build with a quote you can compare to Alienware, Cyberpower, etc... and then if you like it I will order the parts, build it for you and ship it to you. I'll set up a paypal link so you'll be under their buyer protection. Or if you live in southern California I can just bring it to you myself.
Just for a quick reference I guarantee you I can get you a solid build with an i5 2500k and a GTX 560ti for less than $1000. This combo will handle pretty much every game out there, and pretty much every upcoming game in full detail at 1080p resolution.
If you're interested email me at ocsciencetutor@gmail.com, let me know what games you want to play or plan on playing. There's a good chance a $600-$700 machine will be just fine for you.

What is the best gaming desktop i can build under $1000?

Help building my own gaming/video editing PC?

Quick Shot

Hi everyone! I am currently wanting to build my first gaming and video editing PC. I really enjoy editing/rendering videos in Sony Vegas 10.0 but it's very hard running off 2gb of ram on my very out-dated computer as of now. I also cannot even play most recent games.

So here's where I need your help. I've been shopping around on Tigerdirect.com and not sure which computer parts I should get and what's compatable with certain things. It's a bit daunting at first reading all of these items on the list. Couldmyou be of any assistance and link me to some (if not all) of the parts I need to make an awesome gaming/video editing computer?

1000 bucks is as high as I can go by the way!

Thanks!
Forgot to mention that I would also like to build it because I think that's something I would be interested in learning and it sounds fun!

Answer
Honestly, buying a prebuilt PC is just as cheap/good as making one yourself these days.

It used to be true that it was cheaper for you to buy each component yourself and make one... Nowadays, buying the video card, power supplies, fans, motherboard, processor, etc. all seperately, is just as costly.

Look for sales at your local bestbuy. I got a BEAST quad-core, 8gig ram, 1gig video card PC for only $600 canadian!

Best Affordable Gaming Pc in 2012 (WoW)?

rawrsterz

Hello everyone! I would like to know your opinions on the best (but cheapest) - at least under $800-900 gaming pc (moniter excluded) you'd recommend in order to achieve playing at maxed out settings in WoW. I've only ever played the game on a cheap laptop that really couldn't handle anything other than the worst of the worst so... I'm really new when it comes to gaming pcs. My birthday is coming up soon and I want to get a new pc that's reasonably priced but still packs a punch!! So... Any help from any of you pc savvy folks or hardcore gamers is greatly appreciated ^-^

Answer
For around $800 you can get this:

- i5 2400 processor
- P67 or Z68 motherboard
- 8GB of 1600MHz RAM
- ATI HD6870
- 650 watt power supply
- 1TB hard drive
- Well ventilated midi case
- Standard keyboard & mouse

Suggest some PC games for me please?

Pazma

I got a new laptop and I haven't played games in years so I'm looking to get back into it. Games I've liked in the past are Colin McRae Rally, Sega Rally, Medal of Honor games, Final Fantasy VII, Street Fighter's, Grand Theft Auto's, Broken Sword's, Sonic's, Victory Boxing, Fifa's, Football Manager's (although I have the latest 2012 one, first game I bought in years and I love it) WWE Wrestling games (I like the games not the TV show) Recently I played Red Dead Redemption on a friends 360 and I loved it too, definitely one of the best games ever in my opinion.

My machine is running: Windows 7 64bit Home Premium, Pentium P6200 @2.13Ghz, 4Gb RAM, Intel(R) HD Graphics Video Card:
Video RAM: 1.7 GB
3D: Yes
Hardware T&L: Yes
Pixel Shader version: 4.0
Vertex Shader version: 4.0

That's all I can think of right now, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Answer
Lib is right. Red dead redemption is probably out of the question. Try games that are five years old or older.

Fallout 3
call of duty modern warfare
F.E.A.R
Tropico
Sim City 4

Plenty of older games that still boast impressive graphics. Just don't max your system or you'll overheat it.

Best gaming laptop under $1,000?

Bob

I want a gaming PC. I currently use an Xbox but I have decided I should get a new gaming laptop, because I wanted a new laptop anyways.
So, I've been researching a lot. I've found 3 choices:

- Toshiba Satellite P50-ABT2G22 Laptop
Intel core i7-4700MQ
4GB DDR3
500 GB Hard drive
2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 740M with Optimus
15.6 inch screen
PRICE: $729
Link: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=2000098991

- Qosmio X70-ABT2G22 Laptop
Intel core i7-4700MQ
4GB DDR3
750 GB Hard drive
3GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 770M with Optimus
17.3 inch screen
PRICE: $930
Link: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=2000098978

-Buying or building a dedicated desktop gaming PC
Budget: $400

My question: What should I choose? Should I buy one of the laptops? Should I make a desktop (if so, what specs?)? Do you have a better laptop recommendation for me?

Also, how long should those laptops last me before they are outdated? Specifically the Qosmio, which I am leaning towards.

AND, if I get one of the laptops, should I upgrade to 6GB DDR3 for $50 extra?

Answer
Definitely build your own. It's fun, relatively easy, and you learn a lot about computers in the process. Not only that, but it's cheaper to get good parts that would be very expensive if they were pre-made.

Building a gaming computer?

Taylor

I would like to build a nice gaming computer.I want it to have nice components.Prefferably brands like intel and Nvidia not and. I would also like to have windows 8 on it. What are good components for this?(I need specific components not just suggestions.)I also want it to be relatively quite and fast. I have never built a PC before so if you have any good tips please tell me them. Also are ther any good websites to help me with building a computer?I want to buy all my components from newegg. Thanks for any answers! Oh and also price is not an issue as long as it doesn't go above $3,000

Answer
Wow, $3000? You can build a ridiculous machine under that price...

ASRock Extreme 4 Z77 Motherboard: $125
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148697

Intel i7-3770k: $330
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501
with Hyper 212 EVO: $35
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

Samsung 840 PRO Series 128GB SSD: $140
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147192
with Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB HDD: $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147192

Corsair HX 80 PLUD GOLD 750W PSU: $120
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010

G-Skill 16GB DDR3-1600Mhz RAM: $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231568

LG-Blu-Ray Combo Drive: $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136252

CM Storm Enforcer: $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119240

Windows 8: $100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416550

At this point you are up to $1140 and you still need a graphics card, the most important part of your build. The best is the GTX 690, but it is $1000. Still within your budget, so by all means get it, but these offer better performance/price value:

GTX 680: $470
GTX 660 ti: $280

If you get the GTX 690, upgrade the PSU to a higher wattage than 750. You won't need more than 800 or 850 unless you get multiple video cards.

(It capped my answer at 10 links, but you can find these on Newegg easily. Check reviews for different brands, prices quoted are EVGA.

good gaming pc rig around 2000?

Ryan

i wanna run a few game on max (bf3 crysis 2 skyrim) any good rigs around taht price that can last me a few good years before upgrading again

Answer
If want to go with pre-built options, iBUYPOWER is a really good route to go. Here's an example of a really nice rig from Newegg.com at just under $2000:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227393

If you are thinking of custom-building a computer, either by yourself or having it done, I'll list the brands of components that I went with:
Motherboard: Asus (Maximus and Rampage are good models)
GPU: Nvidia
Solid-state drive, memory, and power supply: Corsair (Trust me, the one thing you do not want to skimp on is a power supply, and Corsair simply makes the best)
Case: Cooler-Master (I have the Cosmos 1000 full-tower and love it)
CPU: Intel (I have a Core 2 Quad Q-6600 overclocked and it has served me well, but will upgrade to i7 soon.)
CPU cooler: Zalman (Whatever brand CPU cooler you end up going with, make sure it has a copper heatsink)
Hard drive: Western Digital (VelociRaptor especially) and Seagate both have great products.

If you want a good site to either buy a pre-assembled machine or purchase components for a scratch build, Newegg.com is by far the most economical option, plus it has a vast range of products.

Answer
Okay, I just want you to know, Alienware is good but their too overpriced....The same with Falcon North West and Voodoo PC.

Want my advice? I'd rather build one myself, it's more fun and a great experience, plus it's MUCH cheaper for you to buy the parts and put them together.

If you want to buy one prebuilt then I suggest you go to http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

Gaming PC Build Please!?

Hey guys, I'm looking to build a gaming desktop that'll be able to play Arma 2, Day Z, and maybe even Arma 3. My budget is 400 dollars. I can of course upgrade later but for now that's what it is and my goal is to play Day Z on High settings. I have an older gaming desktop with some old internals that I can scrap the Hard drive, fans, and case. If you can, links on newegg.com would be nice to look at and maybe even a few options for me to decide on what parts I want. Thanks guys!

I'm looking for a decent gaming laptop or desktop under 600?

Jonathon

I was just looking at Walmart store and their online website trying to find a decent gaming desktop. I was going to purchase a laptop but decide to go with a desktop. If you have a good laptop suggestion I would take that too?

Could someone please help me out with some suggestions? I would like to be able to games like Battlefield 3.

Answer
Laptop is better because of its portability which you cannot get from desktop. There are many good options available in the market which has the price of under $600 and also they are good in their own aspects. See the list here for most popular laptops under the price of $600, those on the top of the list are normally good offers:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_0?bbn=565108&qid=1370882355&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A565108%2Cp_36%3A2421886011&rnid=2421885011&low-price=&high-price=600&x=19&y=8&tag=daieom-20

Among them there is one option from ASUS which is good in its features and has the price of under $600. As it has good features which makes it perfect for gaming and other tasks.

Its features include Intel Core i5 3317U 1.7 GHz and 6 GB DDR3 for fast and efficient multitasking. It has 750 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive with 24 GB Solid-State Drive. It has 15.6-Inch Screen with Intel GMA HD and Windows 8. And it comes under the price of $600. So it overall perfect for gaming and other tasks. For your further there's a very good user review here explaining about its high performance, from an owner of this laptop. It should help your decision:
