best gaming pc under 500 dollars image

Hellbilly

Under 500 dollars? I am fed up with this school computer. I want to pack it up into a box and forget it exists. It would be nice to be able to use proxies, gaming, email, and facebook again too. I only need a tower, I will use my school's monitor, but this tower is humming and driving me insane. Running slower than ever and has school blocks on it.
NEVER AGAIN.

Answer
For 500$ you could get a almost heavy duty gaming machine! IF you build one yourself, dont be scared its not hard at all.If you dont want to build one, just go to IBUYPOWER.com or CYBERPOWERPC.com. they're both great

PC BUILD:
AMD a-10 5800K @ 3.8 GHz (4.2Gz Turbo Boost) quad core *comes with Radeon HD 7660D* CPU
Radeon HD 6670 to crossfire with the 7660D above (graphics card)
ASRock FM2A75M-DGS FM2 AMD A75 (Motherboard)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 (ram)
Seagate Barrucuda 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower case
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS.
well, thats pretty much all you need for anything, you could play Battlefield 3 almost maxed out with this monster budget machine.
total (from newegg only) is only 464$!!! you could add a few Super-quiet additions to it if you want the PC running very quiet too, though ive hear the AMD APU's run quiet by themselves, well I hope this helped you!!!>: remember if you DONT wanna build, go to IBuyPower.com or CyberPowerPC.com, they're both great (the pc build is MUCH better for the money though ;)

Where can I get a cheap gaming pc?

Q. I am looking for a gaming pc for under the price of $500. Where can I find a good one & what would you suggest that I look for when buying it.

Answer
1 requirement DESKTOP it doesn't matter if you've got a laptop with 2 gigs of ram if its a gaming PC gaming is going to be done at home right? and plus laptops have all sorts of overheating problems. desktops also can be customized to your liking.

2 avoid Intel like the plague their CPU's are way overpriced and don't have enough power

3 build your own. it will cost you about 200 dollars less (and you can brag that you are super smart noways people are too lazy to learn)

i recommend 2 gigs of ram an amd athlon 2 x2 240 dual core processor (just make shore your motherboard has an am3 slot and chose your own video card (i recommend a nivida) and don't go for the ones that are cheap chose one that is medium priced

you can get parts from www.tigerdirect.com

hope i helped sorry if i gave 2 much info :P

Call of Duty contract with Microsoft ending?

So for black ops 2, the new revolution map pack comes out Jan. 29th. I saw it said on Xbox live first but I thought the contract with Microsoft ended at the end of 2012. I thought that's why ps3 hasn't gotten nuketown zombies yet and Xbox has. But since this is coming in 2013 shouldn't ps3, Xbox, and pc come out at the same time? Did Microsoft renew the contract?

Answer
since this game was released in 2012 even if the contract for time limited exclusives ended Microsoft will sill have exclusives for all dlc the game gets , and microsoft is in talks to extend their exclusivity so nothing will change while the lawyers are still negotiating anyway .
They have not renewed the contract for time limited exclusivity yet but it will not matter for a game that was included in the old contract anyway , the terms I understood included the games release date not the dlc release dates .

The only way that activison won't renew is if they can't get their asking price from Microsoft or if another company like Sony or Nintendo steps up and offers a better deal so I doubt it will not be renewed , but there is actually a good thing about having a 30 day wait , if there is any glitches in the dlc that are game breaking they get patched before the ps3 release so only xbox360 players get bad dlc .

Answer
It's great for most games up to the Skyrim/Arma II level. Your performance comes down to the graphics card, since everything else is top notch.

The Radeon HD 7850 can play Battlefield 3 on high settings smoothly, or ultra with a few details turned down (like FXAA instead of MSAA). But to play BF3 on ultra at 1080p without having to reduce any details, the 7850 isn't enough. You need to go a step higher, to the Radeon HD 7870 or GeForce GTX 660. With either of those you could run anything on ultra/max settings except Crysis 3, which would run fine on high settings.

If you can spend $250 on your GPU, the best deal currently is the Radeon HD 7870 LE (otherwise known as the PCS+ Myst Edition or Jokercard), which is a really a 7900 series card in 7800 series clothing. It performs on-par with $300 models like the GeForce GTX 660 Ti and Radeon HD 7950.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484

Performance:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/tahiti-le-7870-7930-benchmark,3401-3.html
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Club_3D/HD_7870_jokerCard_Tahiti_LE/8.html

But even $300 cards aren't enough to max out Crysis 3. The recommended level cards to play Crysis 3 on ultra are the GTX 680 and Radeon HD 7970. So Crysis 3 is fundamentally in a different class from any other game in existence.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Crytek-Crysis-3-Keplar-FPS-Melting-PC,16928.html
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/12/03/crysis-3s-system-specs/

So with a $220-$250 graphics card your computer would be good for anything up to Crysis 3, although that specific title wouldn't be running anywhere near maxed.

I really want to start PC Gaming, More info in the description.?

Okay so, I have decided that I want to star PC gaming and I have a few questions.

1.) Hard drives are like the heart of everything, so what would be a good one for a beginner? I don't really have a technological background either so building one is out of the question. I just want one to start off with.

2.) Should I just use a regular old monitor or get a specialized one? (if that's worded correctly)

I don't want to spend too much in the beginning, but as time goes one get better equipment. From what I've been researching some of the lesser expensive ones are about 500-600 so are there any recommendations for equal or below?

Any advice or input would be great.

Answer
With a lower budget, why not just get a Gaming Laptop so you can game anywhere?

An example laptop would be the Acer Aspire E1-571-6811.

You can see more laptops within your price range here:

Do your research before making a selection. :-)

About how much money would i need for a very good build your own computer?

Davie Stee

Ok so ive earned $556 dollars in two months for my computer and im thinking im about halfway there, am i correct? or more? im looking for a computer with a very good amount of RAM and memory and a decent to good graphics card (i don't need amazing graphics, i just need one that will run many video games and mods to them, as i will be playing fallout 3, fallout new vegas, skyrim, minecraft, ect.) and also i heard its better to get a water cooling system rather than a fan cooling. So about how much will this cost? id rather save up for great rather than have to make changes here and there later on.

Answer
As this is your first build, I'd recommend you go with air cooling. If you want to go with a closed-loop (all-in-one - assembled) water cooler for the CPU, that would be OK. It's totally unnecessary unless you plan on overclocking the CPU a lot.

The Ivy-bridge CPUs and Nvidia Kepler GPUs run cool on air. I went from the Intel Core i5 760 to the Core i7 3770K and from the Nvidia Fermi 470 to the Nvidia Kepler 670. My CPU temps dropped nearly 20°C when under load (now about 55°C). My GPU temps dropped nearly 25°C (Now about 57-58°C). That's not even worth the effort of water cooling, IMO.

As to what it costs, I could put together a very nice system for about $1,000-$1,200 without a monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers. (I.E., just the box.) http://pcpartpicker.com/ is your friend.

If you live near a Microcenter, you can shave $40-80 off the combined price of the CPU and motherboard by going into the store. It's a ploy, yes, but it will save you money.

Technically speaking, the SSD isn't required, but oh my, is it nice. My, oh my.

Double ride development
Find the first guest in your park and name him or her "e=mc2". Find the second guest and name him or her "e=mc3". Both guests will get together and after about a year they will ask you to hire them. Answer "Yes" and use maximum funding to double your ride development.

Better Shuttleloop
Click on construction, delete everything until the end of the first loop, and make a flat piece. Then, add an on-ride photo section. Make it go up and add another loop. Next, make it go at the highest angle and click on the short turn at the top. Build about four to six of these and set the launch speed at 50 to 58 mph. This should make you over $2000 an hour and barely costs any money or time.

Easy money
Open a ride and as soon as it is full, double click on close to get the money the guests paid for the ride.

When your park has enough money to afford all of advertisement campaigns, put all of them on. Then, hike the entry price to $50. Crowds will come swarming in because of the advertisements and will pay $50 to enter. This will result in quick and easy money.

When in Dynamic Dunes go to the Dynamic Blaster roller coaster. Set the price to t $3, wait until you get a very long line, then hike the price up to about $10. Every person in that line will have to pay $10 to ride. Note: Using a higher price may cause everyone to leave the line.

Build a roller coaster with a very long waiting line and open it with a very cheap price. Wait until you notice that the ride is full. While people are waiting to ride immediately change the price to the highest to force them to pay. Note: People that do not have money will not pay and will leave the park.

Build the Go Kart ride and create a very long waiting path. Make sure the price is free. Advertise your new ride. When you have a huge line, increase the price, but keep it under $10. Everybody who can afford it will pay that much. When the line dies down, lower the price back to free, and repeat.

Increase your sale of food and drinks by putting the shops on the exit portion of a ride. However, you must keep the prices at a reasonable price. You can also put the rest rooms there, and put a charge to use them.

Build any ride which is popular (for example, Shuttle Loop) and make a very long queue. When the queue is full, raise the land directly outside the entrance, blocking it. Then, raise the entrance fee to that ride very high, and to get out , the people have to pay to go on the ride to exit.

An easy way to get money very quickly is to open a roller coaster that you would price very high. Then, wait for the people to pay for the ride and get on. Pause game play, close the ride, open the ride, and the people that paid for the ride will get off very quickly so that more people can get on.

Build a souvenir shop and set the umbrella price to $20 and people will buy it when it rains.

Once the monorail is available to build, make a plot of land with a few paths linked together. Do not link these paths to any other path. Make sure this is enough to sustain about 20 to 40 guests. Build many rides and shops in this space that you do not have elsewhere in your park; perhaps repeat some of the rides people love (such as slides and shuttle loops). Hire a mechanic and a handyman (and an entertainer and a security guard if desired). It also helps to add some scenery. Then, build your monorail linking this secluded patch of land to your main park. Make sure the price of the monorail is reasonable, or you will be dealing with some unused rides. Guests will pay to get to your lovely patch of land, and they will have to pay to get out

How to turn my old family pc into a moderate or decent gaming pc?

David

Hey, my name is David and I would like to turn my old family pc into a decent gaming pc.
The specs on this old pc is Windows vista home premium, amd athlon x2 processor 4200+, nvidia geforce 6100, an dvd optical drive,400 gb hard drive, 2gb ddr2 dual channel, and a 15-in-1 memory card reader. I'm looking for parts to replace that will at run league of legends at least medium settings. Please comment about what to replace and with what, linking to a site like amazon to buy the parts
This can barely run league of legends about 10 fps-15

Answer
Quite honestly, you'd pay more money to just upgrade parts than if you were to build/get a newer, better computer. The motherboard that would be running that old stuff will not be able to handle any of the new equipment that would get you a quote "moderate or decent gaming pc". You can build a PC that will run LoL (since you state that specifically) for about $500. Start with an AMD A10-5800K, an appropriate motherboard with an FM2 socket, and go from there. The processor I listed has a fairly decent video card built in, so you can get the CPU and GPU for only 120 bucks.

How much will I need for a good gaming PC?

Brent Stic

Hi, I was just wondering how much money I would probably need for a good gaming PC (including monitor, mouse, etc). I do not necessarily want to play every game with fully maxed out setting, but at least on the mid-high end spectrum for the next few years. I am trying to muster up about $1000, but I'm not sure if that will be enough. Also, if you know any reliable, well-priced PC's, a link would be great.

Answer
With monitor, you can have an upper level gaming PC for $1000

Basics should be something like

- i3 or i5 processor (or the AMD equivalent)
- P67 or Z68 motherboard (see above)
- minimum an ATI 6870 or NVidia GTX560ti graphics card
- 600 watt modualr power supply (lmodualr because easier for cable managment)
- 4 to 8GB of RAM @1333/1600MHz (higher speed isn't needed because of unnoticable speed gain)
- SATA 600 hard drive
- LiteOn DVD burner
- Well ventilated case
- 24" monitor from Acer or Asus (cheapest around and pretty decent)
- Simple but good mouse and keyboard from Logitech or Microsoft

The above goes between $900 and $1000 when scanning a site like NewEgg...
