What games will be coming out soon?

Nick

Hello fellow gamers! I'm just wondering what new games will be coming out by mayish? I'm just gonna buy a game and was wondering if I should buy one that's not out yet or is there a game that's out that's fun?

I already have the most mainstream games such as

Skyrim
Black ops 2 (mistake to buy, bad game)
Halo 4
Battlefield 3
NHL and nfl 13.
Ac series

I have Xbox 360 and ps3 so just lemme know which game I should get. I was thinking about getting the new walking dead game (already have the old one) but after looking at the graphics I'm gonna hold out on that one. I also saw ghost warrior 2 but the low price at launch is telling me there is not a lot of replay ability. Also saw the new bio shock but my bro is giving it to me launch day so I'm good on that.

Anybody have any ideas on any new games coming out I could pick up? Doesn't matter about which system (as long as its not pc).
Sorry black ops 2 isn't bad as a whole but its pretty much the same thing as mw3 with less things to do, I also get bad hit detection and lag like everyone else, but the cod fever is going away fast for me.

Answer
Really depends on your taste in games but some games to look out for before May:

Tomb Raider
God of War Ascension
Gears of War Judgment
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
Injustice

Here are games coming out in March: http://gamerxchange.net/2013/03/03/new-game-releases-march-2013/

Also: GameStop's list of games coming out by release date - http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=28rp0,135

I might suggest, if you don't already have it and if you have a good net connection, get PlayStation Plus since you can download a good number of titles from there:

http://us.playstation.com/psn/playstation-plus/

http://uk.playstation.com/playstationplus/

(Not sure what region you're in, so I put both UK/EU and North America's PS+ offerings)

'm looking for a gaming desktop but don't know what to look for i play flight simulator x , sims 2 , war games ect and would like to play in high settings thanks.

Answer
Hi,

Here's what I would recommend. There's a small company called Lotus Computer, and they build some really nice desktops. Plus they support them free for 3 years, and they ship free to anywhere in the US. I would check them out. If you do take a look at them, here's what I think you should do:

Go build an Aurora: http://lotuspc.net/home/aurora/configure/index.html

Then, change the following parts. You can leave the rest at the defaults, unless you feel like changing them, but I'm going to recommend changing the parts that will affect performance most.

-For graphics, get the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB RAM). That's a great card for gaming, and when it comes to gaming, the video card affects performance and quality the most. This is one of the best cards available.

-For memory, 2 GB is good, but for another $30, you can get 3 GB which will let it handle more resources, making it run faster. I wouldn't recommend 4 GB since a 32-bit OS can only use 3.5 GB (to use 4, you'd have to use a 64-bit OS, which you can get, but then it brings more compatibility issues.)

-For OS, get XP Home or Vista Home Premium. Vista is better for FSX and a lot of upcoming games, because a lot of newer games like FSX use DirectX 10, which only works in Vista. XP is good, but at this point, Vista really isn't a bad choice.

Everything else is up to you. The CPU is very nice, it's a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, but if you want even better performance, you might want to upgrade to the E6550, which is the next step up.

If you pick what I recommended and leave the rest at default, you'll be looking at $1,429, which really isn't bad considering how fast this machine is and the company you're buying it from, which I hear is really good. You'll probably find a cheaper computer elsewhere, but chances are, you're not going to get the kind of quality and service you'll get from Lotus. Remember, you get what you pay for ;-)

Here's the specs, taken from the configuration page:

PROCESSOR
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 (2.4 GHz, 2 MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB)

MEMORY
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM (Three 1 GB modules at 800 MHz)

GRAPHICS
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512 MB Video Memory

OPTICAL DRIVE
DVD+/-RW Dual-Layer Optical Drive with LightScribe

STORAGE
Seagate Barracuda 250 GB at 7200 RPM

WIFI
No Wireless Networking

DISPLAY
19-inch Samsung SyncMaster 953BW Widescreen Flat Panel Display

KEYBOARD
Logitech Access Keyboard 600 - Wired Keyboard

MOUSE
Logitech LX3 - Wired Optical Mouse

SPEAKERS
Logitech LS11 - Desktop Speakers

OPERATING SYSTEM

what should i look for in as gaming desktop?

Jason

i am planning on buying a gaming desktop and i am not sure what it is i should look for to reduce lag and maximize frames per second and all that. so i was thinking of getting an Alienware because i have heard such great things about them but thats way out of my budget. so if you have any suggestions try and make it like below 600$ or right around there. so anyway what are some spec i should look for?
oh i was planning on running World of Warcraft, Minecraft, and maybe a few others.
as for memory, should i look for its acual memory or its hard drive?

Answer
World of Warcraft isn't too graphically demanding, I can almost max it out on my GTX 560 and that's with a crummy CPU too (and WoW is rather CPU intensive).

Alienwares I would stay away from. They drastically overcharge for what you get.
If you're willing to pay about $687 (including OS, take off about $90 if you already have Windows you can install) for the sake of not having to upgrade as quickly in the future, you could get drastically better performance than for $600... better graphic performance than the $1400 Alienware, but a slower processor... but you can upgrade the processor in the future for much less than $700-800 lol.

A really good build for $687 (including OS, or just under $600 if you already have operating system):

I want to be able to play games like assassin's creed and skyrim on medium to high settings with reasonable fps. I am not looking to build my own pc as I am a noob and do not feel comfortable messing around with a computer. I know pc experts will be pushing me to build it but i simply do not feel comfortable with it. I am looking at cyberpowerpc and could someone recommend a model they have and some modifications they would make so I could play games and have an easy instillation. I would like to build a good gaming PC that will last for a while and be able to play all the latest games. My budget is $500-700.

1. Case
2. Motherboard
3. CPU
4. CPU cooler
5. RAM
6. Power supply
7. Video card
8. Optical disc drive
9. Hard disk drive

I already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Thanks.

6. Doesn't really matter. I got this (just aim for 600 watts):

8. Just a dvd drive.

9. Hard drives are through the roof at the moment due to a flood in Taiwan.. You could go for a SSD alternative which are much faster but have less storage space. Do you have a hard drive from another computer you can use for this one for extra storage?

I want to build a gaming PC for about 900$ and I want to pay for it by myself. I want to tell my parents i want to build one but i dont know how to go about doing it. I dont really want to just say "can i buy a new computer" or anything.

Answer
How about saying that you have been thinking about a project that combines electronics, computing and gaming and that you have been looking into it and are planning to build a pc yourself, as it may be something you want to do as a career.

How does this gaming pc sound to you?

Will

So I plan on building a gaming pc soon. I have a mildly tight budget(700 - 900$). Give your honest opinion on it and all. I plan to play games such as Skyrim, Planetside 2, Battlefield 3 and Elder Scrolls online(when it comes out) Thanks.
Case: Antec 900
Motherboard: MSI Z87 G43
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon 7770
Power supply: Corsair CX600
CPU: Intel i5 4430
RAM: Corsair value select 8GB 1333mhz
HDD: Seagate 500GB
OS: Windows 7 HP
Optical Dive: OD pulled from previous pc.

Answer
RAM is too slow. Not cpu compatible.
For gaming, not high enough on the graphics. Your price of CPU-Graphics is out of balance. Graphics should cost more than the cpu. HDD is small. Using a Z87 with a locked clock cpu.
Power supply is more than you need. Motherboard is crossfire compatible, but not SLI compatible and does take a 10% performance reduction compared to x8,x8 boards.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1xSpu
$730.28 now after rebates.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1xSv1
$835 is a minimum graphics card to stay with a Haswell i5.
I show other upgrades also. Motherboard with shared bandwidth is better in crossfire, and is sli compatible
Might be cheaper in a i5-3570K or cut to an FX-6300.
The graphics card at a cheap brand HD 7850 is about your lowest to be.

I want to build a gaming pc that can play Crisis on max settings for under 1000 dollars. If i can't play crisis on max settings that is fine but i want the best possible pc for under 1000 dollars. Also could you recommend a good monitor the monitor price is excluded from the desktop price.

Answer
there is a gaming site that does the most power for a gaming pc in a budget. eg $1000 every month.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-a-pc-overclock-components,2725.html
also if you look here it can run crysis on highest settings @
52fps.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-a-pc-overclock-components,2725-6.html

just scroll down and you will see the $1000 build.
if you are not overclocking then dont get the extra cpu cooler. an OS is not included in the price.

as for a monitor, try this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052&cm_re=monitors_23-_-24-236-052-_-Product

there is over 1200 reviews about it, so its pretty good.
dont forget, the bigger the monitor (resolution) the more pressure on your graphics card.

also here is a good guide for assembly, with pics.

What parts should i get for a gaming desktop?

best gaming desktop under 700 image

B. Garrett

I have decided that I want to build a desktop primarily for gaming and I don't know where to begin when it comes to all the parts. I am looking for suggestions on processors, graphics cards, hard drives, cases, and power supplies .and I'm looking to keep my budget under $700 for the entire build if possible.

Answer
Will start with a carefully selected $831:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/knlS
Now, you make the painful cutbacks in what you are willing to give up.
This does not include monitor, keyboard, mouse, audio output (amplified USB speakers/headset)
Here is the CPU Hierarchy:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
You might be bottlenecking the HD 7850 with an i3-3220, but it cuts the price.
You could reduce the motherboard a little. A B75 gives up overclocking, though these locked clock CPUs without the K cannot be OC anyway, but RAM, Graphics, and an HDD accelerator SSD could be added in a Z77, and I show a 2 PCIe x16 3.0 for adding a HD 7850 later, but you can use a cheaper motherboard.
You can trim a little out of the power supply. I show one that could cover a second HD 7850, but there are 500W and 600W coolmax with rebates at Newegg that have enough to cover the system. Use single rail 80 plus and check game-debate for the minimum 12V amps and stay above it to have margin and efficiency.
You can cut to a 500GB HDD
You can cut your graphics
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php
I have already removed the CPU cooler and cut from i5-3570K to get to $831.
Always better to start high and painfully trim, but you do that yourself.
The $700 video is heavily unbalanced.
The CPU bottlenecks. The graphics card is monster power and put against a split rail power supply.
The RAM is CAS 11 and discontinued and should have been.
Motherboard is old design.

The absolute best $700 or under gaming desktop computer?

rayne117

I want to purchase a good gaming desktop computer for $700. Your suggestions can be of computers that can be bought online or off. The computer will be used for gaming, and that's about it.

The games I would like to play are: Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike Source, Company of Heroes, and possibly WoW.

Answer
Maximum-PC just build a $700 computer in their latest Mag. It's on the cover. It is definitely the best thing you can get. If you don't know how to build your own computer at all, then get a friend that knows how and have him help. If he's like me, then He/she'd love to do it for you.

You have to go the DIY route because you're not going to find anything decent at the price. OEM builds are mostly rip offs!

Any decent gaming laptop will typically cost $1100 to $2K.

For the best bang for the buck gaming system, get the gateway FX notebook series. The best one out of that series is gateway 7811fx but they discontinued it 6 months ago. You can probably find a used one on craigs list. I got one and it is definitely worth the cost. Able to run Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 with a resolution of 1900x1200 with no slow down!!!! My only complaint is the laptop does get a little warm when playing games on it. Performance wise, it is outstanding.

If you don't like used products, then look for the new model gateway 7805u. Here is a review of the product http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/gateway-fx-p-7805u/4505-3121_7-33496191.html?tag=tpr

Is the difference between 5ms and 2ms response times really a big difference?

John

I have a 5ms response time on my AOC, and I'm getting into PC gaming. Would getting a new monitor with a 2ms response time be much of an improvement?.

Answer
edit: if its a bigger monitor, thats always better :D i upgraded from a 19 inch to a 23 inch and its an amazing difference in size. I have the "HANNSPREE HF237" and its an amazing gaming monitor.

If you've been shopping for a monitor in recent months, you may have noticed a lot of attention being given to one spec in particular: response time. Also referred to as response rate or latency, an LCD's response time supposedly indicates how fast it can display moving images. Most of last year's LCDs came with 16-millisecond (ms) response times--fast enough for decent-looking DVD playback, though with some ghosting and distortion. But response times are falling, and with Samsung and ViewSonic debuting LCDs with 3ms and 4ms response times earlier this year, LCDs would appear to be nearing the performance offered by CRTs. But what do response time numbers really mean?

A faster response time is better--it indicates how quickly the screen can refresh a video image. If an LCD's response time is too slow, the display's pixels won't be able to keep up with the information sent from the computer's graphics card, and you'll see ghosting and digital noise as a result. But just because a vendor advertises a fast response time doesn't mean that its LCD will handle moving images better.

Response time is defined as the time required for an LCD pixel to change from fully active (black) to fully inactive (white), then back to fully active again. Many manufacturers, on the other hand, report their LCDs' gray-to-gray response times. Pixels are rarely completely on or off--instead they cycle between gray states, that is colors--and, in general, switching between gray states is much slower than switching between black and white. However, some also argue that measuring gray-to-gray response time is pointless, since the manufacturers rarely tell where in the cycle they start and end their measurements. To alleviate this confusion, the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) plans to introduce a spec standardizing response time measurement sometime in 2006.

In the present, however, manufacturers still report the "fastest possible" response time, instead of the average or typical response time that you and I would see in daily use. And, sometimes manufacturers can't even decide how fast their own products are, as with ViewSonic's September 2005 announcement that its ViewSonic VX924 LCD actually had a 3ms response rate rather than the previously announced 4ms rate.

In any case, while response time specs may help when looking for a monitor for viewing DVDs or playing video games, we recommend testing a monitor yourself before buying. CNET does not officially test response times, but we judge gaming and DVD performance with our own eyes, and we urge you to do the same.

Here are a few monitors we've tested with relatively fast response times of 8ms or less. Their performance on DVD and gaming tests varied greatly.

Answer
Dear Friend

You are right that in India, building a gaming pc could be tough. I can suggest you few places where you can actually look for.
http://www.techshop.in -- a good site which has a good collection of pc components, peripherals and the rates are good.
Otherwise it depends on your budget. You can go for AMD Dragon Platform or Intel Nehalem Platform (Core I7) based on your budget.
If you could give budget details i could suggest some configuration as i am researching for past 6 months to build a quality gaming pc.

Whats a good motherboard for gaming that goes with this processor?

I'm about to build my first gaming PC and I'm having a little trouble choosing out certain parts.
The processor I'm looking at is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284
Can someone please find me a good motherboard that is under 300$ that goes with this processor.

Answer
You limit gaming by going with AMD, basically looking to economize or improve recording performance. When you state a $300 on a motherboard, my reply is that you choce the wrong CPU. You should be in i5 in Haswell or Ivy Bridge, or even an i7, and looking at SLI capable motherboards.
The 8 cores of an FX series get used only in Crysis-3, or in recording gaming as a multitasking. Almost every game is 4 cores maximum.

my reply is therefore not about picking out the 970Extreme4 or a 990x based motherboard, and instead wonder if you are choosing your CPU correctly.

Website where I can custom build my own Gaming PC with a Corsair 800D case?

best gaming pc case on Custom Gaming Computers, Introduction to Building a Gaming PC
best gaming pc case image

Default 19

I've been looking over websites like TigerDirectBlog, DigitalStorm, CyberPowerPC, and some other sites. However, they only have a limited range of cases available. Does anyone know a site where I can custom build my own Gaming PC with a mid Corsair 800D case?

Thanks!

Answer
Often the "barebones" set-ups don't offer all the best components...your best bet is to pick parts individually. try newegg.com they are fast, reliable...little or no BS advertising. If you insist on that case...here it is...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139001...or you can get the open box...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139001R

Which gaming pc case is the best overall?

Markus

Hi

I am making a gaming pc but I do not know which case out of these three is the best for airflow, features and other things. So can you give me reasons why to chose the case and which one.

Thanks
The types of cases I have chosen are the NZXT 410 Phantom, Fractal Design R4 or The Aerocool X predator X3.

Answer
There are two series of cases that I really enjoy, the HAF series (coolermaster) and the Phantom series (NZXT). I like the look of the Phantoms better, but the HAF series which stands for High-Air-Flow definitely has the upper hand on airflow. The plain NZXT Phantom is pretty awesome and the HAF XM is great too. Corsair builds some pretty solid cases at the 100$ plus price point with some pretty awesome features, you could look into that too.

PS. It doesn't look like you filled in the cases you were looking at.

Do American computer parts work in Europe ?

Tristan

I'm looking to build a gaming PC in Europe and I'm wondering do things like the CPU graphics card etc
Bought from America work in Europe. I think the GPU has to be bought from your own country

Answer
It all works off the same electrical standard because all transistor circuits need the same voltage. Only the power supply unit needs to be local.

But if you buy everything from American suppliers and import it, that will cost you a lot more (in duty and VAT) than if you buy the exact same thing from a UK supplier.

Help me find a good game pc in europe?

I want to buy a new laptop, mainly to game on. I will be playing bf3, minecraft, and maybe cod. So is there a good reliable laptop i can game on for at or under 1000 dollars. Is hp good?

Answer
Gaming laptops are very expensive, prone to overheating, and have a terrible battery life. Most true PC gamer use desktops. For the 1000$ you could build a superior gaming desktop than to buy a gaming laptop for the equal amount.

Also, laptops are very difficult to upgrade and most people won't bother upgrading it anyways. Buying a laptop means you are locked with what you got without the chance of upgrading the hardware, by time it becomes outdated, your only choice would be to throw it away and have to buy a new laptop all together. Desktops on the other hand are future proof, when hardware becomes outdated, swap it out and put in new hardware. Sorry for not answering your question I just don't want you to make a choice you will regret afterwards.

What computer for under 1000 dollars can play world of war-craft new expansion at ultra high settings?

Wes

The only pc games I would be playing is Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and world of warcraft cataclysm. I have 1500 dollars saved up but would prefer a system 1000 dollars or less. So all I'm looking for is a system that produces ultra high setting quality Blizzard Entertainment games. I was looking at Ibuypower.com the other day and comparing it to alienware but I want to hear from real experianced gamers.

Answer
I play World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I bought a Dell Desk Top and I paid $1300 for it, but I had to pay a delivery charge, and I paid for a warranty and real nice speakers. If you minus those 3 things, it might be near $1000. I think your best bet is to just go into Best Buy or some such store that sells computers, tell them what you are looking for, wanting to do with you computer, and how much you are willing to spend. One of my friends did that, for a game called "City Of Heroes" and he paid about $1000 (little under) for a real nice Gateway, with an even nicer monitor than I have. This takes away a delivery charge too.

Okay so I have been wondering how much would it cost to build from scratch the Ultimate Gaming PC. I know you can make a PC that plays games good for around 400-800 bucks but that isn't what I would like. I want something that can fit every gaming scenario and run games not good or great, but EXCELLENT. Something that I won't have to upgrade in the upcoming years. (unless I have to haha) I just want to know because I want to PC game without restrictions. Thanks!!!

PS. No price range.

If the new xbox comes out, will the current xbox still get new games?

curious

Hey guys! I got a xbox because I did not have enough money for a gaming PC. I just got to know the rumours of a new xbox coming out this year or the next. If it does come out, will new games and renowned titles be released for the current xbox for sometime?

Answer
if you look at when the 360 came out the xbox got no new games other than a few anual sports titles affter. there is a large blank in games coming out in 2014 and then and of 2013 so it is reasonable to assume something is happening.

the 360 with a hard drive is$300 right now, when you throw in a year of live, and a couple games you are going to be over $400 and you will have enough to build a low end system that will do better than a current console. you could also wait for the steam box this summer.
