What is the cheapest and/or best website (UK) to build a custom gaming PC?

best gaming pc in the market image

L.H.

I am living in the UK, and have seen quite a few different websites for this sole purpose more often than not, and was wondering if some websites are better than others. If you know a good website for PC packages as well I am looking for a gaming PC for hopefully no more than £1000, and I'm not sure I'm willing to choose to spend any more on one than that. Thanks

Answer
Any of those websites you have already seen can produce a custom made gaming PC for you at minimal cost. I am sure you will get a powerful system to run all your games and future generations of games for the £1000 you are ready to spend.

In fact you can build this system by your self selecting the components you prefer from the thousands on the market now-a-days.

I do all my building work myself never trusting all those companies who only want your hard earned money, giving you sub-standard products in return.

Most sites you have seen would know how to knock one together for you, it is the component selection that really makes the difference.

I hope I have been of some help here.

Most productive turnover for selling a gaming PC?

StrongerTo

Hi,

I have a couple questions.

I built a top of the line gaming PC in Feb of 2012. What kind of return can I expect on the market if I don't include a HDD?

Is it possible to profit if you build a new PC every 3 months and then sell it on the market + build a new one? 2 months? 1 month? If so, what percentage of the parts could I expect to get back?

I would at least like to breakeven and building a new computer every few weeks isn't a problem.

Thanks.

Answer
No, it isn't profitable at all. When you make a top of the line computer you will only lose money. The prices of new computerparts actually drops the most in the first half year.

The percentage you lose is difficult to predict. It depends mostly on the performance of the serie your parts belong to compared to other (later) series and of course the variating market costs of electronics (influenced by all sorts of things). If you do it right you lose about 20% - 30% each time you sell a gaming computer (not with real top of the line though!). If someone has found a cheaper way to keep a good gaming computer I'd like to hear his secret to :P

What is the best gaming joystick for simulators?

alex

I am one of those people that likes flight simulators a lot (FS2004) and about now its time for me to buy a new joystick, my other one is really old. So does anybody have any good suggestions on what I should buy?

Answer
If you fly GA (general aviation) 'planes then the CH Products yoke and pedals are the most appropriate.

If you fly fighters then one of the Saitek sticks is more realistic.

If you can buy the magazine "PC Pilot" over in the 'States they often review new items of hardware. If you can't get it easily it's worth you considering a subscription.

Why are PC and console games so different in price?

best gaming pc hardware 2011 on Creative Labs SB0880 PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound ...
best gaming pc hardware 2011 image

Gameplay E

When a game is released the price of the game for both PC and consoles is almost the same, but after a few months or 1/2 year the PC games' price starts to drop and becomes lower, yet the console price is still high.
Why?

Answer
The reason is because Microsoft and Sony have a great deal of control over devs when it comes to price point, advertising, even development. The PC is a very different beast: unlike the XBOX or PS3, a video game dev does not need to seek the permission of MS or Sony to make a game for the PC, so they are completely free to set a lower price point than on a console. This is why, for example, you have very profitable digital distribution serves such as Steam and Gamers Gate where, as you point out, game prices fall very quickly after release unlike on consoles. The lower pricing on PC games has given the PC an edge in sales over the last few years. For example, in 2011, PC game sales totaled $18.6 billion versus 17.02 billion for consoles.

Another reason is because when you buy a console, MS or Sony are often selling it at a loss, or a very slim profit margin, with the idea of making a profit instead via game sales (sort of like how cell phone companies will give you a phone for free with the idea of making a profit via the service contract). Same thing going on here. In exchange for discounted hardware, you pay a mark-up for software.

I am going to build a new gaming PC. What is the best PC I could make under $1200. Could you please list the parts :)

You can upgrade to a GTX 580 and the PSU to a 750W but that would put you around $50 over budget.

Edit: I really suggest not getting an AMD Bulldozer since they're really not good for gaming and consume a lot of power. Don't be fooled by that "MOAR COARS!" marketing.

How to Deal with Motion Sickness..i like pc gamesvery much...now a days im not able to play games...if i play means i feel like something in stomach and running to the bathroom in a matter of minutes. I get a massive headache, nausea, and sick to my stomach. I can't play games..is it any problem with me?

Answer
I have an inner-ear disorder, so I get massively motion sick. I have tried all the motion-sickness tablets. The best one by far is called Meclizine. You can buy it in a bottle (cheaper) (ask the pharmacist) or you can get it as a motion-sickness medicine called Bonine in the US and Bonamine in the UK. It will make you drowsy but that's better than the alternative.
I just re-read your post and you said you get sick when you play PC games, not when riding in a car, boat, or plane. This sounds more like a type of migraine than motion sickness. You may want to see a neurologist for this. It could have something to do with your eye motion and the lights and screen motion. If this persists, a neurologist is the best way to go, I think.

I do not have anything else apart from a standard DS Lite. Do I need to buy anything else or is that it?

Note that I am using it to transfer POWDER, a freeware DS game, and so AFAIK I am not breaking any laws.

Answer
You need microsd memory as well, try this store, they have a better deal and have memory combos as well so should save u some money. not only that they are carrying the DSi version so you can use it on your ds lite and dsi in case u want that!

Answer
Sure the best gaming system will have these specs to it. It will work great for school work too.

An I5 3570 CPU
8GB of RAM at 1600MHz
A 500W 80+ Bronze rated PSU.
A Radeon HD 7870 graphics card or an Nvidia GTX 660 graphics card.

The rest you can come up with on your own.

Some people tell me Bose are awesome for speakers, while some tell me a audiophile would not recommend them ?

Phil

If this is the case, what are excellent speakers (I don't care as much if they can be loud, I care ALOT more about crystal clear sound) on the market compatible with a high end gaming PC for probably under $750? And what about sound cards? Furthermore, what's the best type of connection (ex: optical, coaxial.....)?
I am also looking for some with great music-playing capabilities

Answer
The Audiophiles are right by saying Bose is junk. I previously owned a $400 dollar Bose Companion 5 system and it was EASILY bested by my new $200 pair of AudioEngine A2 speakers. Half the price... twice the performance. That should tell ya something.

But anyways... some good speakers for your computer, I have a bold recommendation for you. Avoid all the plastic computer speakers... no matter the price. I will recommend two brand names, one based on reviews and recommendations and the other based on personal experience.

M-Audio. I know friends who own M-Audio Speakers and they seem to be very well built. They're built from MDF wood rather than plastic like 99% of computer speakers out there. You can get them for under $200 depending on the model.

My personal recommendation is to go with AudioEngine. They're an American company that builds almost all of their own parts and then hand matches each speaker to another to make excellently matched pairs for market. They're also made of MDF wood (As apposed to plastic... Bose is plastic. ) and they have woven kevlar midrange/woofers and silk dome tweeters.

I own AudioEngine's A2 speaker system, their smallest powered speakers and I love them. They certainly don't go low as far as Bass goes, but their clarity and detail is unmatched by any other system I own at this time. I readily choose these AudioEngine's over my 8-inch JBL floorstanders because the A2s are far more vocal and enjoyable to listen to.

AudioEngine also makes bigger powered speakers called the A5 which have slightely larger woofers that go down a little lower in the bass ranges. Other than that, they're not that different from the A2s except for the fact that they are $325 compared to the A2's $200. It's all up to what you want to pay.

Finally, AudioEngine's powered speakers will hook up with 3.5mm jacks OR RCA inputs depending on what you need. You can hook them up to a high end sound card or an outboard DAC (how I have mine) and you will get excellent sound quality.

If you aren't into AudioEngine, look into speakers from these other great brands. JBL, Klipsch, Bowers and Wilkens, Boston. I don't know if any of those companies make speakers that are easily compatible with PC, but I do know they all make great quality speakers.

Sorry about the wall of text... if you didn't read it, here's my short list of what to buy if you want great music and gaming.

- AudioEngine A2 or A5 ($200 or $325)
- Music Streamer II USB DAC ($150)

Music Streamer DACs are also American-made and will outperform most sound cards in my experience. You can have an all-American sound system for half the price of Bose's Chinese made junk.

Good Luck

I would like a gaming PC/Laptop, but I always hear it's best to build a PC. How would I do this? How do I get started? Please Help.

Answer
Building A PC at first may seem like a stressful and scary undertaking but it's actually quite easy.
I have a few guides here that helped me a lot in the manufacturing of my PC.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Picking your Parts:
For purchasing your PC parts I would recommend these sites:
http://www.newegg.com
http://www.amazon.com
http://www.tigerdirect.com
http://www.ebay.com
⢠This site does gaming PC Part Lists ranging from $500-$1500 every month so you know it will always have current parts. It will also give you a good general idea of what you want and what's compatible in your PC:
http://newbcomputerbuild.com/newb-gaming-pc-builds-month/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Building Your PC:
⢠Complete Step by Step Video From Beginning to End of Building a PC from scratch by Newegg.com (Best One to Use):
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxaVBsXEiok

⢠The parts in this guide may be a little dated but the principles of installing all the components are still the same.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274745-31-step-step-guide-building

⢠Another guide site on building a PC
http://www.buildeasypc.com/

This should get you started on your adventure of building your PC. Not only do you learn a lot from this experience, it's fun! You will also save a ton of $$$ vs buying a prebuilt from lets say Alienware or iBUYPOWER and it's custom tailored to your specific gaming/computing needs.

If you need any help or have any questions of building your first PC then message me on yahoo and I'll see if I can help you. I hope I helped you and have a great day!

How hard is it to build a gaming pc?

Q. I want to build my own gaming computer, I plan on saving up around $1,000-$1,500 for it. I have a good knowledge of computers, but I'm not a wiz with them, even though I love them and want to know more about how they work. How hard would it be for me to build a gaming pc from the ground-up with almost no hardware experience?

Answer
I'm 13 and I did it.

You don't need to know too much about hardware to build one, just go on Tomshardware.com forums and on New Build, ask them to choose the parts for you.

If you want to learn about hardware, then I still recommend going on that site. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/288241-31-read-posting-buyer-guides-troubleshooting

The hard part is choosing the parts and learning about what does what. The building part itself isn't that hard, so long as you have time and have a guide on the internet.

How to build a gaming PC for Battlefeild 3?

Will

Hi i would like to build a gaming PC for Battlefield 3. I am looking for 70 fps and try to build it for around $600. Please tell parts i can use and where to find them. Thank you for any help

Answer
This isn't the answer you were looking for but 70 fps on BF3 for $600 is not do able.

Tthe fact that you only have $600 to spend, you can get most of the parts for under $600 true, but a GFX card that can run BF3 at over 70 fps is going to put your budget out pure and simple. Graphic cards that good usually cost a couple hundred by themselves, and that's not for a high end one.

Honestly, I could tell you part by part, but I don't know where you live, what shops you have available etc. And even then, if you are getting someone else to tell you what you need to build it it ruins the fun of it.

Look at the graphic card you want. Look up what harddrive and memory you want. Look up the case you want. See how much they cost, and mix and match. There aren't that many variants out there, so finding someone cheap that is right for you isn't hard.

If you truly don't want to do any of that, there are many pre-built systems that can run BF3 quite smoothly on high to ultra settings for under $1000.

During the summer of 2013 I am thinking about spending £1000 on a gaming PC, so I need to know what company makes good 'solid' PC's that do not break instantly and are 'trusted'.

Thanks

Answer
A grand will get you top spec. but you will want to self build, you'll get all the parts you want and quite possibly cheaper than a prebuilt system.

I recently did a build for someone (details are on my email account) which was on a £700 budget,

i5-3570k
asrock z77 extreme4
8gb ram
1tb hdd
WiFi card
OCZ 600w PSU.
7850 Radeon HD graphics.
120gb sandisk extreme SSD.

this came in at 700, so for 1k, you can up the graphics card to top spec and still be in budget...

prices change and tech is renewed quite often so in 6months there will be an even better spec available.

I would like extremely fast multitasking, lots a memory, Blu ray player, great graphics card and supports 3D. Oh and a budget under $800 also that its a long lasting desktop. I a smart tv that is hd and 3D and i was thinking of using that for a monitor. So can you guys point me out in the right direction and tell me a good desktop model

Answer
Let me get this straight, you think $800 is a lot? No. The GTX Titan/GTX 690/HD 7990 alone cost $1000. Also you mentioned "extremely fast multitasking, lots a memory". I suggest
-I7-3970X: $1000
-Mainboard: $200
-RAM 16GB: $120
-GTX Titan: $1000
-Other things: Should not cost more than $480
Total: About $2800
Now you have $800, in order to meet your standard, yoi will need $2800. Now you have $800, which is not even a half.
You cannot get a PC like that with $800. Get more money.

What is the best laptop to buy for gaming under 800 dollars?

Gabriel F

Wanted to buy a new laptop because this one is crapping out on me. Anywho have any advice on which laptop to buy? I would like it to have a good video card because I want to be able to play current games on it like Fallout 3 or something.

Answer
I understand that you want a gaming laptop that's under $800, but under that price tag won't get you much. If you want to buy a good quality gaming laptop, I'd recommend that you should spend at least $1200. Gaming laptops are expensive because it's hard to put good graphic cards into computers. Most laptops run the graphics from the motherboard, but a separate graphic card can be rather pricey. The best brands for gaming are Alienware (Made by Dell) And Voodoo (Made by HP). with these brands, just DESKTOPS start at around $1200! For $800, you'll be able to get a good Toshiba, Dell or HP, but for sure not a gaming computer. If you want to save money and get a real gaming laptop, then build one yourself. IT takes a bit of effort and may take a bit longer, but you will still be able to save some money, and you can buy the parts separate so you'll get exactly what you want.
Overall, I'd recommend to either spend about $1200 and buy a gaming computer or about $1000 and build your own gaming computer. $800 will get you a nice laptop that can run your games, but the graphics won't be as good. So you decide, and I hope that I helped.

Happy 'top hunting!

I am looking for a nice gaming desktop but the problem is I only have about $900 to spend. I would like one that is easy to upgrade so I can do so when my budget allows. If you could help me out that would be great.

Answer
The absolute best value comes from building a computer from scratch. However if you're looking for a pre-built system, Cyberpower PC and Ibuypower are your best options.

These are good:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227365
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229253

I recommend configuring something directly on their website. For example, this system upgraded to a Core i5 2400, GeForce GTX 560, 600W power supply with Windows 7 64-bit installed comes to $854 before taxes/shipping, and it's better than either of those computers I linked on Newegg.

Good luck!

It is all very budget dependent. Here is a nice $1000 part set if putting it together yourself, and be sure to watch youtube videos and work on a non-static flat big surface and wear gloves or ground yourself and never force things together.

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz 4 cores, 4 threads since gaming does not use hyperthreading nor more than 4 cores.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler - a good value for overclocking the CPU. It is tall, but very efficient and priced well.
Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard - supports overclocking, and has 2 slots of pciex16 to possibly add a second GPU in SLI at another time for crossfiring instead of replacing the graphics card as you would in a 1 slot system.
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 The right amount for gaming in the right speed for the CPU and is a good brand 1.5V with heat spreader in CAS 9
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - fairly reliable bulk storage in a good size of a terrabyte
Sandisk 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk - to hold Windows and a few games for fast load and top performance. Can use half in partition for Intel RST/SRT HDD acceleration if preferred.
Video Card Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 2GB - Highly rated solid performer. I did not look up its status for SLI vs crossfire
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=548
Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ATX Mid Tower Case - Nice looking case with good air flow and roomy. Starts with only 2 fans as adequate, but could add a top fan. There are many good choices of cases. Has USB 2 and 3 and audio ports.
Rosewill Green 630W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Decent enough as a single rail (one +12V as preferred) with a 6 and 6+2 pcie connector set and since GTX 660 needs only one, should be enough for crossfire one day without changing it. 50A (600 watts) on 12V to power GPU, CPU, fans and disk drives. There are better and worse PSUs but this is surely at least adequate and more.
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer - any DVDRW
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
gamers prefer Win 7
Still need keyboard, mouse, audio output (speakers/headphones), and a display

Answer
where from for heaven's sake do you get that graphics card for £80? this is way too expensive for a HD 5450 and even with 2GB video ram it still isn't a gamer graphics card. for gaming you need one with a much more powerful engine, e.g. a HD 5770 in order the stay within your tight budget.

get this one from overclockers.co.uk for just £90 (inc. VAT) and you're still within your budget of £500.

Would a pc game bought in Italy work in Australia?

Lindsay

I wish to buy some of 2011's best pc games in Italy where i currently live. Will these work back home in Australia or is there some sort of region lock? Most likely they will be in dual languages or not?

Answer
There may very well be a regional formatting problem.. Before you buy ask the store owner your important question. I don't know if games are formatted by region like DVD's are.

T. EZ

I'm almost 17, and have a younger brother (13) and two older who live here (19) (21). My dad absolutely forbids the game Grand Theft Auto Four from the house, but my mom doesn't seem to care that much. I can never get a real reason why I can't get it and every time he comes up with one I prove him wrong. Like he says you rape people, not true. He says you can see full nudity, not true. We have other M games that are not as intense like Oblivion and Skyrim, but he does not care. So how do I convince my parents, (Mostly my dad) to let me have the game? Or alteast give me a valid reason to not have it? This is frustrating, I am not some 13 year old brat begging my parents when I shouldn't even own the game at that age in the first place. I am 2 months away form being 17, not a crazy person, mature, and responsible.
I already have a copy of the game which a friend of mine bought for me a couple days ago, my mom still didn't give a crap. but my dad flipped out so i have it, i just wanna be able to play it.

do you think that the next gen consoles should have waited 2 more years?

ALEX

I think that both next gen consoles should have launched in 2015 instead of 2013 because of hardware. I mean look at them, they're both struggling to even run games 1080p with 60fps. If only some games are able to run that then maybe they should have waited a couple more years for hardware to get better. Another thing, with 4k tv's coming out, both next gen consoles wont make use of 4k tv's. I mean it would be great to even run 4k games with 30 fps. I just think that both consoles were rushed even though this was the longest generation

Answer
First of all, 4k TVs are mostly a marketing sham as the pixel density of your typical 1080P TV will be greater than the acuity of your eyes beyond 5-6 feet(i.e it becomes a "retina" display beyond this point as Apple's marketing department would call it).

They can't wait any longer since they would risk losing the loyal player base. You also wouldn't be able to market a $1000 console to the mass consumer just so that they can get a few more frames per second. You simply cannot wait indefinitely since hardware is constantly getting better, and if you're always waiting for the next improvement, nothing will ever get released.

It is true that the "next gen" consoles are very weak compared to what is available on the PC market(they basically are PC components in different cases), but how else will you be able to sell a $400-500 machine without huge compromises in performance?
The PC gaming, enthusiast and professional market is not very price sensitive and have no problem putting down $1000+ for gaming, experimentation, work etc... but the average console buyer will choose one console over another because of a $100 difference.

I want to build a little gaming pc. Im going to put a 3.2ghz amd phenom ll X4 in it as the cpu. Along with 4gb of ram for starters, will later upgrade to 8gb, and a 500gb hard drive. What is a good cheap gaming graphics card for playing games like minecraft, hot pursuit, and maybe some COD?

Thanks
On COD, only Zombies

Answer
yes... the Radeon cards are the way to go when you're looking at a budget video card. Nvidia is goo and all but they lag behind in the budget category.

The Radeon HD 6670 will do all you ask and it's under $100. Although, the go to card for gaming is the 6770, which does have more power than a 6670.

Ahmed

Hello !!

I would like to know what is the best laptop under 1000$

I need a laptop mostly for College using like gaming , browsing and using Photoshop cs6 .
I need it to run BF , crysis , GTA IV .... ETC

about the specs

HDD: not less than 640~750 GB
RAM : not less than 6GB
Screen : not less than 15.6
Have a backlit keyboard
Display : Anything that works great will be fine :) i don't care if it's 1080p or 720p

Stuffs that is really important for me :
High build
Good battery life : i really don't want it to be like 1~2h , like min 3~4h is great :D

I don't really mind running some games in mid or even low , well if it runs great without lag , then that's all i need , beside most of the games still looks good even in low .

What i do really care is it to have low issues , high performance and to last long .

Thank you .

Answer
I would go with ASUS or HP. ASUS has the best warranty when it comes to laptops. Some of their models come with a two year warranty with a one year accidental warranty. HP can give you a reliable best bang for the buck laptops or they can give you give you a superior system if you step up in their high end systems. One of the ASUS is above your price point but it can play all the games you want.

ASUS laptop.

Brand buying advise

You get what you pay for. Systems with high end parts with low prices are to be viewed with suspicion. They have to cut corners somewhere to get the price down. What cost you less today is going to cost you more tomorrow.

Apple makes a good quality laptop. The problem comes when it requires service or minor upgrades. It is near impossible to do anything with them. They even glue the battery and hard drive down so you can not change it. They solder the ram to the logic board so you can not increase it. They lock up most of the software so your stuck with what they approve.

Lenovo has serious stand behind their product problems. They bought IBM PC division and proceeded to drive the quality of the system into the ground. Their customer service is well below par. They even makes Dell customer service look good. The last and final thing to remember about them is they are a Chinese Government own company. It is up to you if you want to trust them.

Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony should be avoided because of their heavy modification of Windows and the drivers. If you remove some of the bloat they install, you can cripple the system.

Acer, Gateway, and eMachines should be avoided period. Low end system that are driving the race to the bottom.

Dell once made a good system and fell from grace. They are now struggling to regain their place in the market. Customer service is one of many problems with this company.

Alienware are glorified Dells and are more name then product. Priced extremely high for what you get. They do perform but you can get the same for less by looking around, just not packaged to be eye candy to the gamers.

Samsung has a history of using cheap parts in critical areas. Capacitors has been one area Samsung has a known history of going cheap, causing units to fail early. For that reason I would avoid them.

ASUS and HP do not modify Windows as bad as the other manufacturers. They have excellent build quality. They might add a lot of bloat but they also makes it easy to get rid of it.

Ultrabooks are the higher end of Wintel laptops but they have some of the same concerns as Apple. They make it next to impossible to change any hardware in them. Service of them will have to be done by the manufacturers. With most of them, you can not change your own battery or hard drive. They are designed to catch your eye but they are not any more special then other laptops except for the fact that they are slim or thin. Your paying for it being thin and slim. For the money your going to spend on it you can buy a much better laptop with more power.

Hybrids are the worse of the worse. The flip or detachable touch screens are just a disaster waiting to happen.

Never buy an All In One. They are far worst then laptops of any kind to service and they have a higher failure rate.

Choose wisely.

Looking at laptops for work & play?

OutOfLuck

I've got an older model (gateway, intel centrino, windows 7...can't really remember all the stats but it's around 3-4years old). It's good enough for anything work related/going online, But I'm thinking of getting a new one for under 500$.

Found a deal where the following was at or below my range:

- Toshiba Satellite C55-A5332

I'm looking for something with some decent software/programs already installed for reports/essays/presentations, etc. but also for gaming (nothing insane like alienware, but enough to skate buy with current PC games).

If the one above is good enough, or you have some suggestions in my price range, let me know.

Answer
For preinstalled software for Office applications, most new laptops come with Microsoft Office Trial preinstalled. This will work for 30 or 60 days, but then you have to purchase. Instead, consider LibreOffice, a full featured Office suite which will do almost everything Microsoft Office does and just as well, but is completely Free! It is fully compatible with Microsoft file formats so you don't have to worry about being able to view/modify/create Office documents. And did I say it was FREE!?

Take a look at these rankings:
http://blog.laptopmag.com/best-worst-notebook-brands-2013/3

For something to do gaming, you will need to raise your price point a bit. Gaming machines start at around $750. You can save a bit off that if you get a factory refurb or perhaps a model from last year or such. This should give you some ideas for gaming laptops:
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/landing_pages/ideapad/gaming-pcs
http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/Gaming_Products/

Lenovo, Asus, HP, and Samsung are the top 4 laptop brands. I wouldn't consider any other brands.

Dell makes Alienware and they are not worth the money charged.
Acer makes Gateway. You'd have to pay me to use one of their machines.
Sony hardware has generally been good, but they are notorious for putting huge amounts of crapware/bloatware on machines and gathering information on their consumers without their knowledge or permission.
Toshiba has bottomed the rankings. Personally, I have used them and never had a problem, but that does not appear to be the case any more.

I want to buy a cheap gaming laptop under 400-500 us.so please give me some gaming laptop model.oh i want to play crysis 3 in medium or low settings.

Answer
Crysis 3 and other games will be played with no disruption in a laptop which has good processor and good memory which means it should have good memory. So by considering both of them Dell Inspiron 15 i15RV is one option for which you can go for and also it is of less than $500. It has technical features which include 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3337U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.7 GHz) which is really efficient. It has 4 GB DDR3 and 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive of storage. It has 15.6-Inch Screen and Windows 8. Lastly it has 6-cell battery which means you are going to have battery life of almost 3.30 hours.

Comment from an actual user can be really helpful in this regard because it will explain that how it actually performs. Here is a comment from an actual user:

Besides that there are other options as well from which you can decide as well. Here is a list which are popular and best selling:

What is the the difference between computer types?

animal_121

Hi everyone! I am about to buy a new desktop pc but are unsure about the different types. I would like one that could run most pc games well (i.e. sims 2 etc!) please could you specify types of computers that will do this (preferably under £400.00). And the graphics of different pc's.
Thanks!

Answer
Every PC is different.
For gaming... I would recommend an AMD processor.
If you get an Intel... STAY AWAY FROM CELERON. You will like the pricetag, but hate the performance.
At least 1GB of ram... (you need more, but you are trying to stay under 400)
Any decent Nvidia or Ati card will do you well. You need to spend more on this too, but it is a budget killer.

Then get as big as a hard drive as your budget will allow.
