If I get a gaming headset for my gaming pc, do I still need a sound card?

Q. So I want to build a gaming pc with powerful sound so I can hear approaching enemies when I play FPSs. I want to get a gaming headset but I'm not sure if I get a headset, whether I need to purchase a sound card or not.

Answer
if you buy a USB headset, you will not need a sound card as you plug it straight into any free USB port on your computer, and the headset is seen by the computer as sort of a sound card in itself.

I used to use a headset with the regular jacks (the ones you find on your ipod and everywhere, i don't know what its called lol) but when using my microphone i found nothing but problems

since i bought my USB headset, ive never had a single problem with it. hope it helps :D

How can I build a computer that can run any game as good as a console?

Dell

I'm wanting to build my first gaming PC. I have a cap of 1200$ but I would really prefer to go much lower than that. (Considering I'm having to scrape up every dime of it by Scrap Metal and Selling things on Craigs list) I'm pretty lost.

I am wanting to plug this computer into my 32" TV for gaming and movies.

The games I want to play are

N64 Emulator

SNES Emulator

NES Emulator

Sega Emulator

MineCraft

Assassin's Creed

Skyrim

Battlefield 3

COD Black ops 2 (All COD games)

Portal 1 and 2

Left for Dead 1 and 2

Indie Games (Like Slender, Luna Games, Ao oni, etc)

I want it to play HD Movies/Video preferably my Blu Rays.

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm wanting to go with a i7 Intel processor and 16 Gig of ram and the case is Coolermaster Haf 922m. The rest I am lost on. I don't know WHICH i7 processor I need. I don't know WHAT Motherboard is best, I haven't got the first idea on what to look for in a Video card or how much to go on one or if I need a Sound Card. I don't know how much I really need to spend to get what I want.

So could somebody help a little? and I'm BUILDING this. I want to learn, so I am not going to buy a prebuilt.

Answer
Sure the best gaming system will have these specs to it. It will work great for school work too.

An I5 3570 CPU
8GB of RAM at 1600MHz
A 500W 80+ Bronze rated PSU.
A Radeon HD 7870 graphics card or an Nvidia GTX 660 graphics card.

The rest you can come up with on your own.

Some people tell me Bose are awesome for speakers, while some tell me a audiophile would not recommend them ?

Phil

If this is the case, what are excellent speakers (I don't care as much if they can be loud, I care ALOT more about crystal clear sound) on the market compatible with a high end gaming PC for probably under $750? And what about sound cards? Furthermore, what's the best type of connection (ex: optical, coaxial.....)?
I am also looking for some with great music-playing capabilities

Answer
The Audiophiles are right by saying Bose is junk. I previously owned a $400 dollar Bose Companion 5 system and it was EASILY bested by my new $200 pair of AudioEngine A2 speakers. Half the price... twice the performance. That should tell ya something.

But anyways... some good speakers for your computer, I have a bold recommendation for you. Avoid all the plastic computer speakers... no matter the price. I will recommend two brand names, one based on reviews and recommendations and the other based on personal experience.

M-Audio. I know friends who own M-Audio Speakers and they seem to be very well built. They're built from MDF wood rather than plastic like 99% of computer speakers out there. You can get them for under $200 depending on the model.

My personal recommendation is to go with AudioEngine. They're an American company that builds almost all of their own parts and then hand matches each speaker to another to make excellently matched pairs for market. They're also made of MDF wood (As apposed to plastic... Bose is plastic. ) and they have woven kevlar midrange/woofers and silk dome tweeters.

I own AudioEngine's A2 speaker system, their smallest powered speakers and I love them. They certainly don't go low as far as Bass goes, but their clarity and detail is unmatched by any other system I own at this time. I readily choose these AudioEngine's over my 8-inch JBL floorstanders because the A2s are far more vocal and enjoyable to listen to.

AudioEngine also makes bigger powered speakers called the A5 which have slightely larger woofers that go down a little lower in the bass ranges. Other than that, they're not that different from the A2s except for the fact that they are $325 compared to the A2's $200. It's all up to what you want to pay.

Finally, AudioEngine's powered speakers will hook up with 3.5mm jacks OR RCA inputs depending on what you need. You can hook them up to a high end sound card or an outboard DAC (how I have mine) and you will get excellent sound quality.

If you aren't into AudioEngine, look into speakers from these other great brands. JBL, Klipsch, Bowers and Wilkens, Boston. I don't know if any of those companies make speakers that are easily compatible with PC, but I do know they all make great quality speakers.

Sorry about the wall of text... if you didn't read it, here's my short list of what to buy if you want great music and gaming.

- AudioEngine A2 or A5 ($200 or $325)
- Music Streamer II USB DAC ($150)

Music Streamer DACs are also American-made and will outperform most sound cards in my experience. You can have an all-American sound system for half the price of Bose's Chinese made junk.

Good Luck

How do play pc games on an optimum resolution?

Gregory

I have my monitor set on an optimum resolution (1920 -1080) and its all fine until i enter a pc game which will usually change this (im guessing due to lack of graphic memory or such) and make the game unplayable. Sometimes i cant access the in game options menu to adjust this. Is there a way to adjust it outside of the game itself P.s most of my games are run via steam if that helps! Cheers :)

Answer
No.

Each game starts in what it determines to be a "common denominator", i.e. lowest settings.

Older games are even STUCK in low resolution, having never gotten any upgrades to allow higher res.

Some 3D games have mods or special manual edit settings that can add such config, but it's not always available.

Does GameInformer include an extras disc like PC Gamer?

imustflee

I've been reading PC Gamer and one of the reasons I like it is the extras disc that comes with it. Sometimes it includes demos free games and extra digital content. However I'd like a more general magazine. Does GameInformer offer those extras? Or is it worth it anyway? Or is the a more general option that offers that?

Answer
GameInformer doesn't come with an extras disc, sadly. Since they don't focus on any one console, there's no way to guarantee the person buying the magazine will have the right console to run a demo disc. Even if they included one for computers, people who don't play PC games may not have a good enough PC to play PC game demos (especially if its like, Crysis or something).

But if you read GameInformer you'll be getting news about gaming of all types, not just PC games.

Of course, there's always the internet which has all sorts of coverage (immediately instead of next month), and there are plenty of sites where you can download PC game demos. For PS3/360 demos you'd have to look to their online services, I have Xbox Live on my 360 and download demos now and then.

Hey fellas,

I was planning on building a gaming pc as it's that much better than console. But I was wondering, I know that console basically holds pc back graphically, because devs. are try to appeal moreso to the console gamers, consequently games on pc never having the 'wow' they could. So I was thinking, seeing as the next console generation is coming around will this time by next year be a better time to build a rig due to new hardware? Or do pc's now have the potential to be next generation anyway?

Thanks :)

Answer
Its already being phased out and there's already a newer generation of pcs within 3 years. I picked up the bare minimal I needed in a second hand shop and am waiting back to school sales to buy that's when the best deals are!

So I'm guessing ddr4 will be in some time in 2014. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any info.

I would just get DDR3 its cheap, and support for it is on everything, and 8 gigs is about $70 and do everything you need for at least 4-5 more years

I can't afford a top of the line gaming pc, however, i keep reading comments that it is cheaper to build a gaming pc than it is to buy it already made. would it be possible to build a gaming pc that can handle great graphics at around the 500-600 dollar area. I want to use my pc to play system emulators as well as be able to play current games at good speeds. Please any help will be appreciated.

Answer
I just so happen to have a nephew (age 14) that has been trying to answer the same question. If i were to try to build a gaming system with the amount of money you have, one sure way is to visit the compute flea markets. You can usually snap up some pretty good bargains. I would never try to buy any gaming computer new. Unless you're willing to spend triple what you have budgeted, you'll most likely be quite disappointed.

What are the qualities nessecary to be a pc game designer?

wowoi88

I am 13 year old boy hoping for a future in the pc games market, can anyone give me a path to follow?if there is are there any free progams that can be dowload from off the internet free?

Answer
Start working with a Mod Tool, such as the Source engine for HL2 or the UT editors. You need to learn the dynamics of level design, script writing (programming), and how to use the propritory editors. Then you can goto school for game design after you finish high school (I recommend Vancouver Film School, they have a 1 year intensive course in game design). When you graduate from VFS (or another school) you should have made a video game that you can then show as a demo reel, and send it out to companies that you want to work for. I suggest applying for a company that makes games that you like to play, because it will be more enjoyable for you to design said games.

The Source Engine is free if you buy any of the HL series games, as is the UT editor.

Some others you can use are the Oblivion Level editor, Morrowind Level Editor, Neverwinter Nights Editor, Battlefield 2 Editor... etc. Find a game you like and see if you can get an editor for it. Learn it. There's a big modding community out there that you can get support from and websites dedicated to this stuff.

I want all top of the line parts, I don't care how much it costs....

Answer
If you want all top of the line parts regardless of how much it costs, here's a beastly computer:

EVGA SR-2 motherboard
Dual Xeon X5680, totaling 12 cores
48GB (2*6*4GB) Corsair Dominator RAM
4 GTX 580 in quad SLI
several 1TB SSDs in RAID0
LN2 copper pots for CPU and GPU, and some cryogenic fluid such as liquid nitrogen or liquid helium
Two 1200W PSUs (you'll also need to upgrade your home's power lines to support 2000W+ loads)
No case (not needed!)
Optimus Maximus Keyboard
several 30" IPS panel displays
A kickass 12.5 surround sound system with 30,000W subwoofers.

All of this should cost a grand total of over $30,000 for the worlds fastest and most overclockable consumer computer system. With the sound system, probably over $80,000. Add $20,000 to get liquid helium from a supplier. As for a "typical home PC", this is obviously not feasible. Obviously this system looks like a joke, but theoretically speaking, assuming money is no object, this is the fastest, most extreme, and EXCESSIVE system you can go out and build as of today using consumer hardware (as of July 2011).

Where can I get a new GeForce 8800 GTX?

Star Buck

Or does a new one not exist anymore?
@Rish: Low-Budget decent gaming PC.

Answer
I'm afraid it just isn't available anymore. You may find some unsold stock somewhere, but they will definitely be old.

For a low budget gaming PC, look for GTS250's or HD4850's. Both can be found for around $80 nowadays.

Also, check this budget build.

i am 15(dont worry,i am very militant and will not be a douchebag on arma 2,trust me) but both of my parents are highschool dropouts.my dad has a good paying career where he worked for over 20 years.i have a dell d420 laptop which will not run arma, and i am on a very low budget.i am getting $100 from my dad for xmas, and 50 or so from my grandparents.i get $5 for lunch money, and i save it,so $25 a week.i want arma 2,so what is the lowest price laptop i can play it on?

Answer
Arma 2 is an older Game, but unfortunately is is Extremely CPU intensive. I understand that your budget is low, and unfortunately you may want to hold off buying one for less money; until you can afford a more advanced system. If you are looking to buy a good gaming rig, I would always go for a desktop over a laptop. For gaming, a desktop tends to dissipate heat much faster and process data much faster per dollar. For a good gaming desktop you are looking at about $500, or $1000 for an equivalent laptop.

I know it is not the answer you were hoping for, but the best Idea I can give you is to get a part time job and buy a good system. Right now (2012 &2013) is a good time to buy a long lasting gaming rig that should last you near a decade due to the fact that the next gen consoles (Release ETA winter 2013) will be running DirectX 11, which most current PC systems can already handle.

I went ahead and attached a link for the system requirements of Arma 2 with Operation Arrowhead expansion, so you can see the recommended Specifications for yourself.
http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=1237
Also keep in mind that Arma 3 is in development, and the recommended CPU for that will be an Intel-I5. So if you want the next installment, This is what you will need.

I have my computer hooked up to my TV through a miniHDMI cable. I want to have the sound to come from only That monitor. For example: I want to have netflix for example to play on the TV while I am playing a game on my PC monitor, but only want sound to play from the TV, and not the PC monitor. I have windows 7 home premium edition 64 bit, and use an INTEL/nvidia system if it matters.

Answer
You can easily extend your Windows desktop across more than one monitor by plugging two or more monitors into a desktop computer or one or more monitors into a laptop. Most laptops allow you to connect one external monitor. A desktop that spans two or more monitors significantly increases your desktop area so that you can drag windows, program icons, and other items to any location on the extended desktop.

best gaming pc ever made 2012 on Silver Trappings: Procrastinator Party - The Reveal
best gaming pc ever made 2012 image

I have spiderman 3 and it's not that great. Spiderman 2 for the xbox original was great though.

Answer
Besides Spider-Man 3, here are the other spider-man games for the 7th generation of consoles (PS3/Xbox 360) and my thoughts on them.

1. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (2007) - Meant for children. Don't even consider getting this.

2. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (2008) - Treyarch developed the previous Spider-Man games, but Activision (publisher) gave the rights to Shaba Games to make future spidey games. This is a pretty good game. Known for its pretty awesome gameplay/combat. Also, it had free roam. Great Spider-Man game in my opinion. It did get repetitive however. The swinging also felt awesome. Great game, although spidey's voice actor is HORRIBLE.

3. Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions (2010) - This game was not developed by Shaba Games. This was made by Beenox, and Beenox currently holds the rights to develop all future Spider-Man game titles. This was because Shaba Games was shut down after making Web of Shadows, so Activision gave the rights to Beenox. Also, Beenox has had experience with past Spider-Man games Beenox has created PC ports of past Spider-Man games. This game is NOT free roam. It is level based and there are 14 levels. Each level is about 30 min to an hour depending on your pace. This combat is more of a button smasher. However, there were 4 different Spider-Men to play as based on 4 different Spider-Men from parallel universes in the COMICS. They were the Amazing Spider-Man (Earth-616 universe, the spidey we all know and love), Ultimate Spider-Man (Earth-1610, also called the Ultimate Universe, a modern interpretation of the classic spidey), Spider-Man 2099 (Earth-928, takes place in the), and Spider-Man Noir (Earth-7207, takes place in the 1930s). All of these Spider-Men are from different comic books that have existed since 1960. Even though there is no free roam, this game was awesome in level design with each universe having its own art style and music score. Just look at any trailer and you will see what I mean. Each has different combat, and each have different special abilities. Also, the stealth aspect from the Noir universe was really fun. This also has one of the BEST boss fights ever. There were also a TON of unlockables and alternate costumes (16 costumes in total, 20 if you get pre-order DLC). Great replay value if you really want to get all the unlockables and finish 100%. The only problem I had with this is that there wasn't any development in story. Nevertheless, a great level-based Spider-Man game, and one of the highest rated Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2.

4. Spider-Man: Edge of Time (2011) - This is Beenox's second official Spider-Man title following Shattered Dimensions. This is more or less a rehash of Shattered Dimensions (I will explain in the next game I mention). There are 2 spider-men to play as (Amazing and 2099). The colorful artstyle of the Amazing Spider-Man from Shattered Dimensions is replaced by the artstyle found in the 2099 version. Wasn't as colorful or enjoyable to look at. Gameplay is virtually the same as Shattered Dimensions except for a few ability differences. There is no free roam. Also, THE WHOLE GAME TOOK PLACE INDOORS in a single building. It becomes tiresome to be in the same setting the whole time. BUT, this has a better developed story than Shattered Dimensions. Stuff and events actually happen so that's a plus. Also, it has a bunch of collectibles as well (but it's more or less the same as Shattered Dimensions, nothing new really). This is an "okay" game.

5. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - This is Beenox's most recent game. This had the most potential. After Beenox made Shattered Dimensions, they split themselves into 2 development teams (1 for Edge of Time, 1 for this game). Most of the developers, budget, and time was spent on the Amazing Spider-Man. This game has twice the development time as Edge of Time. This is Beenox's BIGGEST project/game so far. The game is a movie tie-in, but it takes place AFTER the recent Amazing Spider-Man movie so Beenox has more creative freedom in the direction they wanted the game to take. The combat is based on Batman Arkham Asylum's free flow combat. It's not as smooth as Batman, but it's still awesome. They did however dumb down web swinging. The webs connect to the sky, BUT you have to still be in the proximity of buildings to swing. The camera is MUCH closer to Spider-man so you actually FEEL like you are Spider-Man. It's especially awesome since you can feel the sense of speed. They also incorporated stealth along with normal combat, and the Web Rush feature in the game is really cool. Not as many costumes to unlock, but you can also unlock select chosen comics that you can read in the main menu. Sort of on the short side, but this is the best free-roam Spider-Man game in my opinion since Spider-Man 2.

My recommendations are Shattered Dimensions for a level-based game.
And Amazing Spider-Man or Web of Shadows for a free roam game.

Will they ever make a Star Wars Battlefront 3?

Cody

I wanted to know if Lucas Arts is gonna make a "Star Wars Battlefront 3"? I absolutely loved the first one and thought it was a huge success. I think that if they made a third one it would at least be up there with game of the year, i think it would be a great idea to make a third one.. I just wanted to know since i had heard some rumors that they might be making a third one. If a third one is being made and its not by Lucas Arts....then who?

Answer
On September 29, 2006, Computer and Video Games made an unconfirmed claim that Free Radical Design was developing the game.[2][3] In June 2008, Kotaku allegedly received information from a former LucasArts employee that Star Wars: Battlefront III was in the creation process.[4] On October 2, Activision Blizzard filed a classification with the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification listing Star Wars: Battlefront III for the Nintendo DS with a PG rating(E10+ equivalent) for mild animated violence.[5] Also that month, Free Radical Design announced that they lost the rights to develop Star Wars: Battlefront III; the game at that point had been in development for two years.[6] On December 28, Star Wars character renders bearing a Battlefront III watermark surfaced from a laid-off Free Radical employee.[1]

On January 15, 2009, gameplay footage was leaked from a November 2008 Free Radical in-house showing of Battlefront III footage.[7] The footage was pulled from IGN after LucasArts demanded its removal.[8] Shortly thereafter, a former Free Radical Design employee said some of the technology Free Radical developed for the game, specifically the contiguous game environment from planet surface into space, "is dying with us".[9] In March 2009, a Pandemic Studios spokesperson refuted speculation that Pandemic had taken over the project, saying "the title seems to be up in the air."[10] Later rumors suggested Rebellion Developments had assumed development of Battlefront III.[11] After this, Rebellion Developments announced Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron.

On May 14, 2010, Battlefront III lobbies were found on GameSpy, leading to speculation that the game would be announced at E3.[12] However, the game was not revealed at that time. It was rumored that Spark Unlimited's project with an as-of-yet unconfirmed publisher is Battlefront III.[13] On April 1, 2012, a user on the game journalist website Betagames discovered Star Wars models and textures buried in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City's archives. PC Gamer's Tom Senior speculated that these could have been from Battlefront III.[14] On April 10, 2012, Spark Unlimited officially announced Lost Planet 3 as the game they had been working on, thus eliminating them as a candidate developer.[15]

Answer
You can run those games at max settings except for GTA IV and Crysis. You would need a quad core CPU and a better graphic card to run those games at max.

If you can get a Phenom X 4 processor(150 US$) and an ATI HD5770 graphic card (120 US$), you might be able to run most of the latest games at max or even the upcoming games but you might have to spend 100$ more.

Buying a dual core core CPU now is not a very good idea, especially if you are planning to use it for 2-4 more years. Most of the games and applications today requires at least a quad core to run at high settings.

Buying advice

Apple makes a good quality laptop. The problem comes when it requires service or minor upgrades. It is near impossible to do anything with them. They even glue the battery and hard drive down so you can not change it. They solder the ram to the logic board so you can not increase it. They lock up most of the software so your stuck with what they approve.

Lenovo has serious stand behind their product problems. They bought IBM PC division and proceeded to drive the quality of the system into the ground. Their customer service is well below par. They even makes Dell customer service look good. The last and final thing to remember about them is they are a Chinese Government own company. It is up to you if you want to trust them.

Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony should be avoided because of their heavy modification of Windows and the drivers. If you remove some of the bloat they install, you can cripple the system.

Acer, Gateway, and eMachines should be avoided period. Low end system that are driving the race to the bottom.

Dell once made a good system and fell from grace. They are now struggling to regain their place in the market. Customer service is one of many problems with this company.

Alienware are glorified Dells and are more name then product. Priced extremely high for what you get. They do perform but you can get the same for less by looking around, just not packaged to be eye candy to the gamers.

Samsung has a history of using cheap parts in critical areas. Capacitors has been one area Samsung has a known history of going cheap, causing units to fail early. For that reason I would avoid them.

ASUS and HP do not modify Windows as bad as the other manufacturers. They have excellent build quality. They might add a lot of bloat but they also makes it easy to get rid of it.

Ultrabooks are the higher end of Wintel laptops but they have some of the same concerns as Apple. They make it next to impossible to change any hardware in them. Service of them will have to be done by the manufacturers. With most of them, you can not change your own battery or hard drive. They are designed to catch your eye but they are not any more special then other laptops except for the fact that they are slim or thin. Your paying for it being thin and slim. For the money your going to spend on it you can buy a much better laptop with more power.

Tablets are just toys to me. They can not handle the work load like Laptops and Desktops and do not have the storage capacity you will end up needing.

Hybrids are the worse of the worse. The flip or detachable touch screens are just a disaster waiting to happen.

Never buy an All In One. They are far worst then laptops of any kind to service and they have a higher failure rate. My experience with them are limited because the few I worked on made me think they were designed in such a way as it would take a blow torch and a jack hammer just to disassemble them.

Choose wisely.

Mp3 Headphones and Gaming Headphones the same?!!!?

Wait! U Ma

Everytime I try to buy some suround sound headphones, I see that most of the suround sound headphones are gaming headphones. Is that the same, can I remove the microphone that's attached to the headphones or am i just unlucky to find some nice headphones. What do you reccomand?

Answer
I'm not sure if you're looking for gaming headphones, headsets, or just awesome headphones. you didn't specify a price range either so here goes..

surround sound headphones are a joke. Instead get headphones that has a wide "soundstage".

However, headphones with good soundstages tend to be open headphones, making them non-ideal for public use since they leak sound out and in.

if you game with a console and headphones, i suggest the audio technica ad700 + astro mixamp.
example here(watch that video with headphones for a demonstration): http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gaming-guide-updated-4-12-2012-akg-q701-added

if you game with a pc, then makes sure you have a good soundcard, external or not.

if you were just looking for regular headphones, the soundstage thing is the closest thing you will get to speaker sound on a headphone.

headphones with good soundstages: (most of these headphones are $200 and above)
beyerdynamic dt880/t1(open)
sennheiser hd558/598/700/800(open headphones)
akg q701(open headphones)
audio technica ad700(open headphones)
v-moda m-80 (closed headphones. good soundstage relative to other closed headphones, but not against open headphones ofc. also very portable/durable/stylish!)

Should I get the iPhone or Droid?

I currently have the Nokia Twist from Verizon, but I definatly want to upgrade it here soon. I'm looking at either the iPhone or Droid.. Is one better than the other?

Answer
get a droid phone, and with a app called "double twist" you can sync all your itunes music to your android
http://www.tested.com/news/the-best-android-phone-for-your-network-july-2011/2660/

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps, and do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Despite the false rumors, The iphone is also just as, if not more vulnerable to viruses as android
http://www.pcworld.com/article/183763/experts_not_surprised_by_iphone_malicious_app_report.html

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Live wallpaper
widgets
4g
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They donât realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supplyâs the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

And the iphones âretina displayâ is a huge scam. By definition a âretina displayâ is one where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. But this is determined by several factors; most important being the distance between the screen and your eyes. The iphones retina distance is 12in, move any closer than that- say 7in and itâs no longer a âretina screenâ because your eyes can now see the pixels, by that same token, if I move my android phone back, to say 16-17in, amazingly, it becomes a retina screen as well! (feel free to google this)

Also apple never invents anything, there never âthe firstâ. All they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as âmagicalâ and âinnovatingâ, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power. (now any 2011 android is smoother and faster than the iphone)

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple canât sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they werenât,(Nokia fist touch screen, âarchosâ first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, âthe rounded icon cornersâ and âhaving a flat screenâ or âthe square shape of the phoneââ¦â¦..

To top it all, if youâve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didnât even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, itâs basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycatsâ¦yet again.
