Is Desktop/PC Gaming Dying?

Nord

Hey. I've read some stuff about how AMD is on its last gasp and how Intel has lost interest in developing CPUs for PCs and is turning its attention to mobile computing. I've also read that silicon is in its swan song, and that Moore's law doesn't apply any longer as the name of the game now is efficiency and power usage versus raw bit churning speed. Further, I have read that game developers are only interested in the console market which means that current gaming technology is already 5 years ahead of the industry (at least until the next generation of consoles come out). Does all this mean that Desktop/PC gaming is dead or dying? If so, how do you reconcile the Gaming Events (League of Legends, etc.) that have migrated to the States from Starcraft crazed Asia? Would love your thoughts before I plunk down 4Gs for my next rig!!

Answer
yeah pc gaming is dying...thats what every console fanboy telling to him self trying to convince him self that these ancient 8 years old consoles are better than pcâ...âtake bf3 as example the developers had to lower the graphics quality so it can work on consoles...and if pc gaming is dying will developers continue to make pc exclusives like diablo 3,warface,arma 2,dota2,planetside 2 (made by sony the ps3 owner)
to make it short pc is not a console making its years in market then become abandoned like ps2...piracy hurting its sales yes but games still sales big number like skyrim and bf3 and many other games
