Best Gaming PC under $900?

Martyz

Please don't spam, just tell me and give me a good reason for 10 points.

Answer
the best gaming pc you can get is the one you build and make on your own.
basic components of a pc are cpu, motherboard, hard drive, cd drive, power supply, ram, and a case

a rough guestimate for an average gaming pc would be
$120 - motherboard
$150 - cpu
80 - power supply
100 - ram
70 - case
30 - cd drive
75 - hard drive
150-200 an operating system (depending if there is a sale on some retail websites)
do some research on tomshardware forums on how to build a pc, there is a very good detailed guide there

once youre ready go to newegg, they have amazing deals and low prices daily.

dont buy a store bought, you end up paying more then what you actually get. and they give you a bunch of pre-downloaded crap.

here is the guide
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/257075-13-guide-choosing-parts

if only i had that link when i built my first computer i would have saved myself 2 months of research through crap websites

hi, could somebody plz come up with the best pc that that they can make from the website ebuyer.co.uk, because i do not know what is good nowadays. it must have an i5 2500k and a gtx 580 if possible from that website. my budget is £970. i do not need an operating system or a mouse/keyboard so just the tower. do not need a blu-ray player just a cheap disc drive thanx. whoever comes up with a pc that has all of this will get full points. thanks.

I've always been a console gamer, but have considered a jump to PC for a while. It just seems like gaming PC's cost four times as much as consoles, and that's what has turned me off. Are there any decent gaming PC's in the $500-700 range?

Answer
The way i look at it is, you're going to need a computer anyway, so why not just spend a little more on that and get one good enough to play games. if you spend the money you would have spent on a console getting a better graphics card and processor you'll probably end up with a half decent gaming machine.

I'm afraid i can't tell you prices in dollars because i'm in the UK. Try looking in some magazines or websites for recommended specs to aim for as a starting point then work that around your budget.

You can spend as much as you like really, so its best to decide what you want to spend beforehand i find.

Good luck.

Where is the best place to buy a gaming pc from if im from the UK?

Im looking for a trustworthy website to get a custom pc from, any suggestions?

Answer
These are all the ones I have used myself and have proven reliable:

http://www.ebuyer.com/ - my main choice.

http://www.aria.co.uk/

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/ - Generally been reliable for me though I have seen some bad reviews about them so take that as you will.
