Hey guys, I'm looking to build a gaming desktop that'll be able to play Arma 2, Day Z, and maybe even Arma 3. My budget is 400 dollars. I can of course upgrade later but for now that's what it is and my goal is to play Day Z on High settings. I have an older gaming desktop with some old internals that I can scrap the Hard drive, fans, and case. I was planning on building a gaming pc as it's that much better than console. But I was wondering, I know that console basically holds pc back graphically, because devs. are try to appeal moreso to the console gamers, consequently games on pc never having the 'wow' they could. So I was thinking, seeing as the next console generation is coming around will this time by next year be a better time to build a rig due to new hardware? Or do pc's now have the potential to be next generation anyway?

Its already being phased out and there's already a newer generation of pcs within 3 years. I picked up the bare minimal I needed in a second hand shop and am waiting back to school sales to buy that's when the best deals are!

Should I wait for ddr4 ram to be released before building my gaming computer?

I was about to buy a sick gaming pc I put together, but I just did a google search and found out that ddr4 memory might be just around the corner, with crucial even having a 2013 promo. So I'm guessing ddr4 will be in some time in 2014. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any info.

I would just get DDR3 its cheap, and support for it is on everything, and 8 gigs is about $70 and do everything you need for at least 4-5 more years

A grand will get you top spec. but you will want to self build, you'll get all the parts you want and quite possibly cheaper than a prebuilt system.

I recently did a build for someone (details are on my email account) which was on a £700 budget,

i5-3570k
asrock z77 extreme4
8gb ram
1tb hdd
WiFi card
OCZ 600w PSU.
7850 Radeon HD graphics.
120gb sandisk extreme SSD.

this came in at 700, so for 1k, you can up the graphics card to top spec and still be in budget...

prices change and tech is renewed quite often so in 6months there will be an even better spec available.

I have never really done this before. I have taken computers apart and put them back together. I have switched out parts from computer to computer. But I have never actually built a PC. Needless to say, this is a learning experience and a fun way I figured to blow off a $1500 bonus from work. Here is the kind of gaming computer I would like.

I want to be able to play games like Kill-Zone, so I need a computer that can handle the graphics.
However, I also want to be able to play old games from 2003-2006 (If I need to rip out parts from older computers I will).
I also like to download a lot of things on my computer. Like, a lot!
I also like to multitask.
That's about it.

Okay so I have been wondering how much would it cost to build from scratch the Ultimate Gaming PC. I know you can make a PC that plays games good for around 400-800 bucks but that isn't what I would like. I want something that can fit every gaming scenario and run games not good or great, but EXCELLENT. Something that I won't have to upgrade in the upcoming years. (unless I have to haha) I just want to know because I want to PC game without restrictions. Thanks!!!

Hey guys! I got a xbox because I did not have enough money for a gaming PC. I just got to know the rumours of a new xbox coming out this year or the next. If it does come out, will new games and renowned titles be released for the current xbox for sometime?

if you look at when the 360 came out the xbox got no new games other than a few anual sports titles affter. there is a large blank in games coming out in 2014 and then and of 2013 so it is reasonable to assume something is happening.

the 360 with a hard drive is$300 right now, when you throw in a year of live, and a couple games you are going to be over $400 and you will have enough to build a low end system that will do better than a current console. you could also wait for the steam box this summer.

im sorry that's unstable and it can't run games at high settings because the parts are outdated and not good.

geforce 660 is low end card and intel i3 2130 is a 2nd generation i3 processor which is not good for gaming infact if you want a cheap gaming rig you better forget about intel processor and geforce graphics cards because they are normally overpriced.

so what you all need to is select a system that fits your budget note down the parts of that system search the stores and get it from any where and after that built it your self or request someone to do it for you by the way its not that difficult just watch a youtube vedio to understand how to built it!!!!!!!

Trying to build a gaming computer but I have no idea where to start?

My goal for 2013 was to build a amazing gaming rig, (I was going to do this in 2012 but couldn't come up with the money)

My Rig I'm, wanting to build is a triple monitor setup (For Eye-Infinity)
I'm wanting to play future games such as battlefield 4, and games now like Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3.
I'm wanting to be able to play these games at ultra settings, that way I never have to worry about lag (Like on consoles which are at low settings). I'm wanting to know what graphics card I would need what kind of CPU I would need ect. And The TOTAL Price, The most I'm wanting to spend is $2000 at the max, I don't want to spend more than that I don't mind but The most I am willing to go to is $2750.
