What is a good gaming computer under or around $1000?

Mike Richa

I know little to nothing about processors or graphic cards. I have been doing a little bit of research and found some, but I have no clue if they are any good for what I want. I want a gaming computer that can play games such as Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3, and Skyrim on, hopefully, the highest setting or at least a good setting. I also want to be able to build the computer for future games that will be coming out.

In short.
I want to buy a good gaming computer that can handle most games well and one that I can build upon to make it better.
Thanks for the help.

Answer
If gaming is your aim, you need everything from the get go.

Powerful Intel Core processor, powerful graphics card, 8GB (two x 4GB) DDR3 RAM.

You said you know little to nothing about computers, but you don't really need to know all that much.
Since nowadays even a 13 year old kid can build a gaming desktop computer, I suggest you do the same. You spend less and get more. The best thing you get is the satisfaction of playing on something you made.
Do some research, there are extensive step by step guides and even videos out there on how to do that.
