this is the best pre built gaming PC that you can get for that budget, this build is an entry level gaming PC that can still let you play all games decently on mid-high settings on a lower but decent 1360 x 768 resolution monitor (18.5 inch monitor).

Help with $600 gaming pc budget build?

So I want to build myself a new computer and my budget is at $600 that is with a monitor, keyboard and mouse and without the OS. It is kind of a low budget but I would like to be able to play games such as guild wars 2, the cod series, portal 2 and other steam games. This is what I have so far but I really need to drop the price to at most $600.

Answer
You're way overpowered on the graphics card (which your PSU can't support anyway)

The Radeon HD 6870 is powerful enough to play games like Battlefield 3 and Crysis on high settings at 1080p. That's overkill for Steam Games, CoD:Black Ops and GW2. For those, you'd be fine with a $100 card like the Radeon HD 7750.

Besides, the HD 6870 requires a minimun 500 watt power supply that provides dual 6-pin connectors. The Corsair 430W is too weak and only provides a single 6-pin connector.

Finally, for budget builds you should go with a 1600x900 monitor instead of a 1920x1080 model. The lower resolution screen allows entry-level and low-midrange graphics cards to perform much better.

I recommend going with this PSU (enough for future upgrades):

And this monitor:

With that graphics card you can still play BF3 on high settings with good fps. Portal 2, WoW, GW2 etc would be a piece of cake:

If you dropped down to a Radeon HD 7750, the Corsair 430W PSU you originally selected would be enough in the PSU department.

You could also upgrade to 1600Mhz RAM. The actual difference in real-world performance would be marginal (only a 3-4% boost) but it's cheap!
