Build me a Gaming PC under $1000?

Jacob

Can anyone list me parts to build a gaming PC for under $1000. It does not need to include a mouse, keyboard, or monitor becuase I already have those parts, but it does need to include a Antec 1200 ATX Full Tower and the Corsair Hydro H50 Liquid Cooling System.

Answer
Let me start by saying that forcing an Antec 1200 an H50 on a $1000 budget is a bad idea. If you are open to being more reasonable, as you should be, you can get better parts. Don't even bother building a system if you are going to drop 1/4 off your money on a case and CPU cooler. I would use these parts, which I can guarantee will perform better than if you were to use the 1200 and H50-

HDD-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136074
RAM-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260
OS-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754&cm_re=windows_7-_-32-116-754-_-Product
CPU Cooler-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065&cm_re=212%2b-_-35-103-065-_-Product
Optical Drive-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106333

Your subtotal is $948. The CPU cooler, the 212+, performs better than the H50 according to Maximum PC and the case is the same thing as the Antec 1200, just minus one intake and one exhaust. This machine will demolish any game thanks the 5850 and the Athlon II X4 630 is more than enough for the job. The extra $50 will cover shipping.

Build Gaming PC under $1000?

Jean Carlo

Hi everyone, this summer I will be building my first gaming PC. I am currently a console gamer and I will continue to be one after next gen consoles release. I have a budget of $1000(not including monitor)
for the PC. I want it to run all games on ultra settings in 1080p over 60 fps.

What parts should I pick?

I would love this specs for the pc:

Six core processor
8GB RAM
2GB Video Ram
At least 500gb hard drive

Can I get a Gaming PC like this for under a grand?

keeo in mind that this PC will only be used for gaming and web surfing since all my video editing and content creation will be done on my mac. THANKS!

Answer
Intel Core i5 3350P processor - $180
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard - $135
8 GB 1600 mhz RAM - $45
1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive - $85
Case - $50
Corsair or Antec 550 watt PSU - $65
DVD-R drive - $20
AMD 7950 Radeon video card - $300
Windows 7 x64 bit OS - $100

$980

Will perform better than an AMD 6 core for games. Intel 6 core is out of your price range. Just remember that the "2 GB" of video RAM you want is mostly meaningless, and you cannot judge a video card by how much it has. For example, a 6950 Radeon with 1 GB VRAM will destroy a 6450 with 2 GB. The 7950 Radeon is a great card
