I love upgradability, and this is aimed at it. You might be able to squeeze in a 2nd gen core i5 by cutting back on other components, but preference is for as much balance as possible.
As this stands, CPU can be upgraded to i5-3570K with an aftermarket CPU cooler and overclocking.

The motherboard can accept a second GPU
The power supply is strong. This can take a 30GB SSD for Intel SRT HDD acceleration.
The case and MB are USB 3.0 and the motherboard has SATA III and PCIe 3.0.
Ready for the upgrades.
Base Total: $734.42
Promo Discounts: -$5.00
Mail-in Rebates: -$45.00
Total: $684.42
Adding, P8Z77-M is 1 PCI Express 3.0 x16 and 1 PCI Express 2.0 @x4
Wireless not considered a standard need in a desktop. Hardwired ethernet runs much better.
Price of the other answer with the links:
8z77=$129.78, Thermal $4.95, wireless $15, PSU $100, RAM $43, PowerColor AMD Radeon HD 7770 $125, Win 7 $100, External USB 3.0 500GB HDD? $80, DVDRW $18, CPU $185 = $800 and excludes the case to hold it all. That is $850; not $700!
