i want to buy a gaming desktop for under 800$. building one is not an option. if you can give me names of pcs that are great for gaming.

ibuypower makes some decent affordable gaming pcs.

the basics are quad-core cpu is helps, 1gig graphics card is good, 4 to 8 gigs of ram all together works well. as for specifics Intel's core 2 series of dual and quad cores are great and their icore 5 or higher are great, amd phenom tri core and quad core are fine and as for specific graphics cards theres just too many to say but having a graphics card with 1gb of dedicated is more then enough for most games.
To be honest for gaming the most important is a decent graphics card and 4 or more gigs of ram, even a decent dual core cpu would be fine in most cases.

I was going to buy the PS4 but you have to pay for multiplayer, and I know for PC you don't. So what PC gaming desktop can run big games like Battlefield 4 or GTA V when it comes out for PC, and if your going to say built one, I don't know how to like I don't know alot about PC I'm kinda of a beginner.

All PC desktops are better for gaming, because they can be easily updated and upgraded as you see fit. Look at the Xbox 360 and PS3... while they still play games just fine, you are stuck with what was in the box the day you opened it for hardware. The games are still written for that level of hardware.
With a PC, your video get to slow with a new game? Upgrade the video card. Not enough storage space for games? Add another terabyte or two of space, in 5 minutes. The PC platform is vastly superior to the console platform, and will be for quite some time.
