Is the PC gaming market finished?

David

Or is the PC market finished for that matter. Every time I go into a games store the PC games section seems to shrink some and the console section gets bigger.

Is this the end for PC gamers? will there come a time when companies will stop making games for PC's altogether because they just wont sell? whatcha guys think?

Answer
PC games are steering more and more towards downloading games straight from the internet instead of disks. this can be explained for a few reasons. one disk drives are unpredictable and can fail fairly easy. two it's an easier way to keep a game. whenever you download a game from steam it's stored on your system and your account. they do this because computers are ever changing. the game console business changes slower so they keep the same system around for a few years but computers on the other hand are rapidly changing and upgrading. it's unlikely that a person would still be using older systems that run operating systems like windows 98, 95, 2000, or some other outdated operating system. my point is it's easier (and takes up less space) to download steam than it is to download every one of your games onto a new system. yes there still are some games that you can't from the internet that's why they are still available in stores.

Ps3 or Gaming PC? +BQ?

Chicago

Should i build a gaming pc or ps3? Im leaning more on the ps3 since i already have a laptop(but i use it mostly for school) and ps3's are much cheaper. But someone told me that if you wanna play games you should stick to gaming pc's. And pc's are much easier to upgrade in a few years in case the ps4 is released and new games come out. So what should it be?

BQ: is it still worth it to buy the ps3? I mean its like 5 years old and ps4 may come out in a few years.

Answer
Good Gaming PC will cost you $900
Consoles PS3 $250 Xbox $300 "with some free games so it's the same price as the PS3"
I don't think you gonna lose that much if buy the console whatever console you like i personally like the Xbox 360.
The Gaming PC is also good if you can afford to buy a good one, and you need to put in mind that you will have to upgrade your PC at least once every 3years and it will cost around $250 and up for the upgrade.

So i think the console will be a better choice at this point.
