Is it possible to play PS2 games on PC?

Kyaw Thant

Ok, I had a PS2 about 2 years ago with new consoles coming out and my PS2 broke I was wondering if I am able to play PS2 games on my computer (Desktop PC) with PS2 game Disks. Is it possible? Please tell me if it is.

Answer
It's possible. Fist you need to download pcsx2 0.9.7/0.9.8 with bios & plugins. You have to see a video help in youtube for guide & config. Now a little advise : It will be too harmfull for your DVD rom or writter, if you play ps2 games in PC with disc. So you should save the disc as iso or nrg file using UltraISO full version, then run the iso file by pcsx2 & play. Enable speed hacks to high volume in pcsx2 settings, if your games run slowly. Enjoy............

Is it possible to upgrade a regular desktop pc to the levels of gaming pc?

Kwasi

If its possible then what would i need to buy?

Answer
Yes, any desktop can be upgraded to a Gaming PC.
Make sure your stuff is compatible, some old desktops have outdated stuff like DDR2 RAM, etc.
Also be sure if the processor is compatible with your motherboard.

Upgrading your pc to a gaming pc requires upgrading these things:
Video Card - Important to a gaming PC. The ATI/AMD Radeon 6850 ($150) should run current games smoothly. GTX 560 is $50 more and is more powerful.
RAM - Recommended 4GB DDR3.
Processor - To a Quad Core for smooth gaming. AMD Phenom II or Intel i5/i7 depending on your PC.
Hard Drive Space - Optional if you have 500GB or more
Power Supply - To power the whole PC, since a good graphics card takes a lot of power, you need to upgrade from your current one. Corsair recommended and 500w.
