can you give me like some gaming pc specs? like how much ram what graphics card how much ghz ETC i like games like css and hl2 and crysis fallout 3 GTA4 cod4 etc. It can't be fucking 2000-5000 dollars

Answer
Within a reasonable price range:

4GB of RAM

Minimum processor - Core 2 Duo E7400
Best value/dollar processsor - Core 2 Duo E8400
Best processor - Core i7 920

Minimum video card: GeForce 9800GT
Better video card: GTX 260
High-end video card: GTX 285

Here's a list of parts chosen by Tom's Hardware for a $1250 PC, during their system builder's challenge. You could use that as your starting point and make changes from there.

How much would all my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 things cost?

Paul

I'm in a pickle. I got BF4 for computer and then realized that I didn't like those kind of games on PC. For one, the graphics barely kept up, and I also like having the console feel. I do play PC games though, so I'm trying to keep it all my consoles organized, because I hate having to decide between X360, PS3, or PC. Therefore, I think I'm going to sell my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and then get the PS4 when it comes out. I believe that'd be a good choice, but I'd like to know how much I would get for selling all my stuff on Ebay. Also, not sure about hardware specs for either console, so just give me a general range and I'll clear it up later.

Xbox 360 : Console, cords, 1 controller, Kinect, GTA4, Motionsports, Gameparty in motion, Kinect Adventures, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Halo reach, Crackdown 2

Playstation 3 : Console, cords, 1 controller, burnout paradise, borderlands 2, fifa soccer 13, shaun white, warhawk, rockband 3, rockband 2, the beatles rockband, call of duty black ops, ncaa football 11, call of duty black ops 2, mirrors edge, MW2 (2 copies), Uncharted 2, Transformers, Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising, Tom Clancy's End War 2, and also all of the rockband equipment.

How much do you think I would get?

Answer
Consider selling at a Tag/Garage Sale. 50 to 75% of retail.
pawn shops 5-10% of retail.
GameStop trade values: http://www.gamestop.com/collection/trade...
DiscReplay: http://discreplay.com/faq.php

And, Download Games (and any game âregisteredâ with STEAM, have NO VALUE, as they are strictly licensed to ONE user thus are not transferable..
Otherwise ask for as much as feel like. If they don't want to buy, you can haggle or walk away.

Answer
Yes, absolutely. This is why I recommend that people building their first PC go with an established build, designed by someone with experience. For example, the link below has 3 different builds for gaming desktop computers at different price points of $800, $1300, & $1800. The $1800 build includes:

Part list permalink: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fT7J
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K ($314.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 ($134.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3-1600 ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5â³ SSD ($99.99 @ B&H)
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5â³ 7200RPM ($74.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB â 2-Way SLI ($404.62 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB â 2-Way SLI ($404.62 @ NCIX US)
Case: NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V ($129.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($17.98 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $1797.14

At the bottom of the build, there are also suggestions for upgrades if interested. These builds typically don't include a monitor, keyboard, or mouse like your parts list did, so you'll need to add them.

i wonder if it's worth buying it this exspensive?

its insane exspensive i need a while to fix the money i really need advice if i should change anything as long its not much over then its allready is i am happy.

Answer
it depends. are you using your computer for work or games? anyways, i'll summarize the important components up one by one for you:

power supply: mhmm that power supply is powerful, but will you really be needing all that power? if you don't need a super powered or super fast computer than don't waste your money on this one.

motherboard: i'm not going to say anything about this as a motherboard is like the base of your computer so you can go ahead with that.

processors: reasonable... even if you use it for work ( as you will be needing to use a lot of applications at once and a better performance is needed such as this one). this will be enough for games too, as this is a quad processor.

graphics card: that is a pretty high end graphics card, remember best used for games only, if you mostly use it for work go for a cheaper card, depending on how much work and how much gaming you'll be doing, you might want to consider intel (for work ONLY), or a cheaper graphics card from nvidia or ati.

hard drive: it's also reasonable, depending on how much stuff you need to store on your computer.

extra hard drive: unless you'll be doing heavy editing on large video files, an extra hard drive isn't necessary.

external hard drive: yes, you definitely need an external hard drive. why? to backup your computer from time to time of course.

keyboard: doesn't matter which keyboard, though you might want to save as much money on keyboards for your other components.

screen: that's a HUGE screen, but if you think that's necessary for work or gaming go for it.

mouse: like the keyboard it doesn't matter which one you pick just save money on these

internet security: actually, i don't have much experience with norton. i use mcafee, and it's been doing a good job so far.

operating system: okay as well

webcam: if you really need a webcam go for it.

ok, so your extras like the pendrive, headphones, speakers and anything else on your list that are extras, you need to save as much money as possible on things, to save enough to pay for all those important components. an example would be the webcam. do you really need it? ask yourself that question for your headphones, pendrive, extra hard drive, just ANYTHING extra. can you do without them? if so, you'll hopefully save up enough for the computer.

good luck, and i really hoped i helped.

Wanted to buy a new laptop because this one is crapping out on me. Anywho have any advice on which laptop to buy? I would like it to have a good video card because I want to be able to play current games on it like Fallout 3 or something.

Answer
I understand that you want a gaming laptop that's under $800, but under that price tag won't get you much. If you want to buy a good quality gaming laptop, I'd recommend that you should spend at least $1200. Gaming laptops are expensive because it's hard to put good graphic cards into computers. Most laptops run the graphics from the motherboard, but a separate graphic card can be rather pricey. The best brands for gaming are Alienware (Made by Dell) And Voodoo (Made by HP). with these brands, just DESKTOPS start at around $1200! For $800, you'll be able to get a good Toshiba, Dell or HP, but for sure not a gaming computer. If you want to save money and get a real gaming laptop, then build one yourself. IT takes a bit of effort and may take a bit longer, but you will still be able to save some money, and you can buy the parts separate so you'll get exactly what you want.
Overall, I'd recommend to either spend about $1200 and buy a gaming computer or about $1000 and build your own gaming computer. $800 will get you a nice laptop that can run your games, but the graphics won't be as good. So you decide, and I hope that I helped.

Happy 'top hunting!

I would recommend any of the four PCs listed above for some medium - heavy gaming. These PCs are by no means considered to be enthusiast but below $800 they are quite good. If you are looking to save $50-$100 on anyone of these machines then you can go to a custom PC building site such as cyberpowerpc.com and configure one with the same specs as the ones i listed. Also when you go to a custom building site they will usually throw in a mouse, keyboard, and some cheapo speakers for free.

Hope this helps!

I can't afford a top of the line gaming pc, however, i keep reading comments that it is cheaper to build a gaming pc than it is to buy it already made. would it be possible to build a gaming pc that can handle great graphics at around the 500-600 dollar area. I want to use my pc to play system emulators as well as be able to play current games at good speeds. Please any help will be appreciated.

Answer
I just so happen to have a nephew (age 14) that has been trying to answer the same question. If i were to try to build a gaming system with the amount of money you have, one sure way is to visit the compute flea markets. You can usually snap up some pretty good bargains. I would never try to buy any gaming computer new. Unless you're willing to spend triple what you have budgeted, you'll most likely be quite disappointed.

How long would a top of the range gaming PC last me?

Hi, just wondering how long a top of the range gaming PC would last me?
I am taking about the best possible CPU, GPU and most RAM you can get on Windows 7 (24GB).

I am taking about before I could not play a game on high or max settings, that is when I would call it outdated.

Answer
Top of the line right now, good for about 4 years I think.

best gaming pc for 700 pounds image

Joe Sloper

Title says it all, basically 600-700 pounds to spend on a computer + monitor or laptop. Mainly playing World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2.

Thanks

Answer
I would recommend you personally build the PC yourself. It is much better and the performance is greater for less money. With 600-700 you could buy a low end gaming PC but if you were to build one for the same money you would get a high end gaming PC. Buying a laptop would be waste of money and would be a stupid decision because gaming laptop tend to have overheating issues when playing games and will damage your motherboard plus if they break its a waste of £700 because there difficult or costly to repair unless you get like 5 years full warranty.

Building a PC is pretty simple to be honest, you get an instructions manual which will show you where to connect the cable, where to put your processor ect. Plus there must be tons of videos on YouTube that show you how to build a PC.

Check out http://www.cclonline.com. They are pretty cheap and have a custom PC configurator to makes things easier http://www.cclonline.com/systems/?utm_source=Homepage&utm_medium=LeftBanner&utm_campaign=Configurator. If you decide not to build it yourself they can build it for you for a charge of £45. They also have pre built systems which are better than PCs made by manufacturers. They also offer a Guarantee on their products and systems.
In my opinion this is a better option than buying a PC from a manufacturer since they have many faults at times.

Hope this helps.

Can i play latest games like CoD WAW and other games on this PC?

Connor Bri

i dont have it yet but im planning on getting it. http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/Gallant-AMD-555-94p1023.htm will this be ideal?

Answer
Yep, looks like a great deal. You can also potentially unlock the 2 dormant cores on the X2 and turn it into an X4 !!!

The GTX 550 Ti is a mid/high range card that will max out WAW (it's not that demanding, my old 9600gt can max it out!)

It's not ideal, but neither is spending 700 pounds versus 400!

Does anyone know any good gaming pcs under $800, because every time i look one up, they're always 1-3 grant which is really annoying. Also I want a gaming PC that will play the upcoming game Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4, and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag. Also give me links of good gaming pc or tower desktops that are on canadian websites such as Amazon.ca, NCIX.ca, etc. Thanks!

This is the only gaming pc in your budget range http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009O7LZXQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=390961&creativeASIN=B009O7LZXQ&linkCode=as2&tag=allthesale-20
but imo If $800 was my budget I would go for this HP Pavilion 500 PC Desktop (AMD A6-5200 (Kabini), 8GB (DDR3, 2 DIMM), 1TB (7200rpm), 802.11b/g/n (1x1), Windows 8 http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00CPG7URI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=390961&creativeASIN=B00CPG7URI&linkCode=as2&tag=allthesale-20
which currently is $399 leaving me $400 for a decent graphics card like the Evga Geforce Gtx770 Superclocked 2Gb Gddr5 256-Bit Dual-Link Dvi-I, Dvi-D, Hdmi,Dp, Sli Ready Graphics Card 02G-P4-2771-Krhttp://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00D78Q2D6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=390961&creativeASIN=B00D78Q2D6&linkCode=as2&tag=allthesale-20
The key to a good system is always a good graphics card.

What part should I replace in my laptop to fix issues with it shutting down?

best gaming pc power supply 2013 image

I have a gateway P-7811 FX. It's a very capable laptop, complete with a dedicated video card.
Under normal use (Word, Excel, Chrome, BlueJay, Eclipse) there are never any issues whatsoever. But when I use it for any sort of gaming, it will shut down after anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half of use. It has shut down on lots of games including high spec games like GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony, and low spec games like Surgeon Simulator 2013. It shuts down when it is plugged in, as well as when it is relying solely on the battery. I think it might be an issue with either the power supply, or the use of the dedicated video card, but I really don't know for sure. I am looking to either find a way to remedy this issue, or replace the faulty part.

Answer
Your computer has a feature that it will turn it's self of when it the CPU over heats. It does this to prevent frying the CPU and destroying other hardware in the computer. I recommend if this pc is a gaming system to look into adding or replacing fans, or to get a new heatsink. You might want to check into watercooling system.

I got a budget of 27000 Norwegian Kroner which is about 4594 dollars.

I need a PC that's able to play most games at least on high and maybe, but not necessarily Ultra.

I'm new to PC gaming - you know i'm the typical Console boy or whatever.. lol so i dont understand much of the pc language.

BTW, I've been looking to buy the Razer Blade Pro when it comes out, but it seems like they aren't shipping to where i live

Answer
For your budget you could get TWO Asus or Alienware (Dell) top machines with good graphics chips. Then you could winter in Majorca or the Canaries with the rest of that budget.

How to make usb pc controller work with emulators?

D

I have a generic usb pc controller that I got off ebay a while back, and it doesn't seem to react to my game emulators. I have the old system ones, nes, snes, genesis, etc. Is there something special I need to do to make it work, or do I just need a better class of controller? For reference, I'm running windows 7, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Answer
Did you configure the controller or did you just hook it up and try to play cause it sounds like you need to configure the controller. Go to options, configure controller plugin or input, whatever it says, and select your controller and setup the controls. Now it should work.

Talk about money for PC Gaming's and how much cost we spent for every parts that we buy. We have list of Computer parts pricing? "We need to be a practical person"

Answer
You do not state your country, and given that it is 2:15AM here in Las Vegas, NV, USA, I expect you are elsewhere out of the US. PCPartpicker.com has shopping and PC design compatibility assist in the US, UK, Australia, and possibly Canada.

Many countries have import duties and heavy taxes on sales, so you cannot take USA pricing and currency translate.

Here is one fairly high end build, in the USA as US$1865:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/huCv

You can do a budget minded build using an i3-3220, a B75 or H77 Intel compatible 1155 socket motherboard, an HD 6870 or GTX 560 ti, a good single rail 80 plus efficient 550 watt power supply, 8GB 1600 speed 1.5V DRAM with heat spreaders, 1TB SATA III 7200 rpm HDD, DVDRW, a reasonable case and hold it at about $600 or so in the US

Anything in CPU at least 2nd generation core i3, or FX-4100 or 4170, or better is OK
Any graphics card of at least HD 6670 level
A power supply that won't crash
DRAM for Windows at 4GB and anothe 4GB for graphics shared ram
AT least 500GB HDD
makes a gaming PC. Then it is a matter of how good and strong a PC, and they can get to $2000 fairly easily.

How to make the iPad as the audio source on my pc?

best gaming pc sound card on How to choose the best Sound Card? | Computer For Dummy
best gaming pc sound card image

Diaboro

Hello,

I want the sound from my iPad to come from my pc's sound card. To explain, Let's I'm playing angry birds. I want the Audio that is coming from the game to go into my computer live so I can record it.

I want this for live streaming purposes. This means I can't use a prerecord file. It must happen on the spot.

I this possible?

Answer
Get a cable to connect the two, if your pc sound card has standard 3.5mm line in or mic in socket then you would need a cable with 3.5mm jack plug on each end (same as on end of headphones). Plug one end into the ipad and the other into the pc. Select line in or mic in on whatever software you are using to record with. Mic socket on pc is usually pink or has a microphone icon next to it.

Terminator salvation PC game could not start because it needs a sound card?

I have a sound card in my computer already so does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Answer
What it means is you need to get a higher quality sound card than your pc already has so go to your local electronics store (Best Buy, Radio Shack, Geek Squad, etc.) also bring the game and case with u when u take it and they will recommend the right card. also its gonna cost around 60-100$

How much does a good gaming PC cost, and what is the best kind?

Megan

Hi, I really want Portal 2, but I hate using our XBox so I want it for PC, unfortunately neither of my parents will allow me to put it on their computers, so I'm looking to buy a quality gaming PC. I need to know how much a good one will cost, as well as what brand I should buy. Any ideas? Plz help!!!

Answer
It really depends on what you plan to do with your gaming PC

Do you want GOOD, GREAT or the BEST?

A GOOD gaming PC should cost about 600$. This is enough to go on mostly high settings at a mainstream resolution. Basically a normal home computer but with a dedicated GFX card.

A GREAT gaming PC should cost about 1000$. This is what you'd get if you want to use a single monitor and play games on their highest settings at a high resolution. You'll either use 1 top-of-the-line card or 2 midrange cards working together, and you'll want a pretty good processor.

The BEST gaming PC should cost above 1500$. This is for people who use multi-monitor displays, 3D effects, or absurdly high resolutions. Prepare to purchase multiple graphics cards, at least 2 high-performance hard drives (for RAID 0), a sound card, and liquid cooling systems.

BUT REMEMBER, THIS IS ONLY FOR THE PC TOWER COST: YOU STILL NEED TO BUY A MONITOR, MOUSE, KEYBOARD, AND OPERATING SYSTEM! I personally spent 350$ on those (200$ monitor, 100$ OS, 20$ keyboard and 30$ mouse) you may also want to buy headphones, so keep those in mind too.

If all you want the PC for is to play Portal 2 and maybe some MMORPGs, then go with Good. if you plan to get into Steam and build your library, go Great. If you have too much money on your hands and want to surround yourself with the best, go...Best.

What Specs Should I Look For In a Gaming Desktop?

I'd like to get my first gaming desktop. I'm not completely adapt at computers, but I can understand most basic things. I'd just like a few questions, such as if I would need an i7 or I would be fine with an i5. What is the main difference between Intel and AMD? Most discussion boards I've visited about the topic usually have people saying Intel is better because it's "the next generation". I play quite a variety of games such as LoL, WoW, Counterstrike, Diablo, Starcraft, GTA, and hopefully more after I get my new computer which could run all of them at optimal settings. I'd be able to put around $900-$1000 into the computer and want one in which I wouldn't have to upgrade things very often, hopefully coming with a top of the line video card installed. Any tips or suggestions about what to check out or what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
First, you ask yourself some questions.
1) Build yourself, buy completed, or custom builder?
Building it yourself will take research of good from bad, and advice on your part list.
The pcpartpicker web site, already mentioned in other answer(s) is a shopping and compatibility tool that helps you to also get all the parts you need. You save a variable amount of money, and can choose your own goals. Custom build is normally the highest price, selecting from their part list and they assemble, test, ship. Buying completed takes some shopping. In all three you should still learn good from bad, or take someone's word for it.
2) Your goals in the system?:
Best performance for the money spent, or quality-stability-reliability, or cosmetic features, or upgradability. Some of these overlap, but you get a different result based on your desires in each area.
3) Total cost including what part set?
Base computer, monitor, cables, speakers/headset, keyboard, mouse.
A different total cost yields different results, and even mentioning the $900-1000, what does it include?

Your current games are relatively low requirements. I do not see Battlefield-4, Crysis-3, or even Skyrim. There is a list here and laptop measures of graphics cards, and some Desktop if you select Desktop+Laptop GPU, select games, RESTRICT.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

The general guidance of performance is that settings and frame rates will depend on the graphics card unless bottlenecked by the CPU or RAM or even display (60Hz=60fps).
Will you want to overclock the CPU (even if it gains little in performance?) ?
Digital Storm is a high quality custom builder and they also sell Vanquish as a pre-built in various levels:
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/vanquish.asp

About AMD vs Intel CPUs, the actual gaming performance for the price is very close, although in recording gaming or other applications of non-gaming and multitasking, AMD is often a better value. However, if your eventual goal is a tier 1 system, you can only get there with an Intel CPU.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
You can get great price-performance using an AMD CPU, especially that motherboards are often better featured for the price when adding CPU+Motherboard. AMD CPUs do use more power and are generally less efficient.

i5 vs i7 and CPUs of over 4 cores: Only Crysis-3 with its Cry-3 engine fully utilizes the CPUs capabilities. Games you mention use only one or two cores, and newer games to 4 cores. Skyrim uses 2 cores fully and 2 cores weakly. Hyperthreading virtual cores of i7 are for Crysis-3 and multitasking (like game recording) and editing video. There is little difference in gaming performance starting with 3rd gen Intel i5 through all the i7's.

There is some disagreement about the FX series of AMD versus Intel i3, but once at i5, you have surpassed all AMD in gaming (exc Cry-3 engine). In a build of best value for the money, you start with an i3 or FX-6300. In a build of a future performance at top level, you can start with an i3 and upgrade or start with i5 and be done with it. Haswell Intel is about 6% better than its similar Ivy Brodge, and the motherboards of Haswell generally are better but cost more. Once choosing Intel, you need to decide Ivy Bridge or Haswell. The i5's of Ivy Bridge are adequate for ultra for every game. More CPU power does not increase gaming performance (except if recording). K version cpus are overclockable and must mate with Z motherboards to do the overclocking plus a good CPU cooler. You can still damage the CPU.

In that my answer is running out of space, GPU upgrade is similar to GPU selection:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As3_bG9s1FBTBnMCpx0UZebty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20130816021720AAgXVjJ
There are good value pre-built by Avatar, CyberpowerPC and iBuypower at Newegg.com, but they will often use some lower grade components.
To Crossfire/SLI 2 graphics cards in the future, you need a dual slot board pcie x 16, and SLI needs x8/x8 capable and that runs better in crossfire.
A high quality power supply is very worthwhile. Bad supplies make mysterious issues and very bad ones can wipe out your system when they blow.
You would have to look through some Q+A in my history to learn more, or email me.
Are you near a Microcenter with discounted CPUs?
First pass Intel Ivy Bridge overclockable and SLI/CF capable build, now $940.90 after promos and rebates, some expire today:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1zg1V
and, a $970 Haswell i5 based:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1zg88
each of which can be edited and swizzled.

I need a good gaming desktop or games like skyrim(with mods, when it's released) and crysis 2 that's around $800-$1000? Or should I just build my own on new egg or something, and what parts should I get?

Answer
Build it on your own. It's always better value for money and you get to hand pick your stuff.

http://gamingrig.blogspot.com/
Check this link. The $1000 gaming PC config can smoke any game today at maximum settings, and it will have no problems dealing with Skyrim. Crysis 2 is not very heavy on graphics. Even the $600 gaming PC can play it at max settings with around 30 fps.

Here it is:
Best gaming PC for 2012:

Buy all parts on newegg.com, they even have instructional videos on how to build a PC:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw&feature=player_embedded
All prices are in $USD, from newegg.com, and current as of April 2012..

Processor: Intel Core i7-3960X, today's best processor ($1,050)
AFTER MARKET CPU WATER COOLING: Corsair H60 or H80 Hydro cooler ($70)

It's never good having 2 cards in SLI as lots of problems and imperfections result from the 2 cards competing against each other to render parts of the same image. Just one good card is enough.
RAM: 16GB (four x 4GB) G.Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600 ($90)
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda SATA III (6.0Gb/s), 7200rpm, 64MB Cache ($115)

Is iMac i5 quad core best? Only serious answers please...?

best budget gaming pc july 2012 on Gaming Desktop Cases Computer Builds 2011 2012 - small computer desk
best budget gaming pc july 2012 image

Amardeep

As question tells all about, I am going to buy an i5 iMac this Monday. As I have some money in my budget for that :) It has quad core processor. 21" screen. As I read somewhere that Apple may release new models of iMacs in June-July, but it don't meters as I am crazy to get one :) I like the design of iMac. However I don't need it, but I like it and want to have one.

At the moment I have good Laptop with i3 processor and 1GB graphics card and 500GB HDD. I also have desktop computer with 22" LCD screen. But, I had seen iMac of one of my friend. And I liked the design very much and also wanted to work on Mac OS X Lion. For more information, I am web developer, and I don't need heavy software, I only need Photoshop, Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver. Which I think it can run smoothly. But I also like some games in my free time, not too much heavy games, but small ones are enough to pass the free time, Games don't meter though.

Oh yes, I have choice too to chose one from two iMacs. I need good answer and please suggest me which one I should get. I know many will say "You can take a very good PC with half of the iMac price with good hardware". I understand but try to understand me, I already have them, but don't know why I can't stop myself to avoid iMac :D May be I wanna try Mac OS X, I know you will say "You can install Mac OS on your computer", but It is illegal and also there are problems with hardware like sound will not work, if it will work, will not work correctly, but I don't want to do that on PC. I want it on original Apple computer.

So, here are 2 iMac computers with price for April 2012:-

i3, Intel core 21.5" iMac, Price = $970
i5, Intel quad core 21.5" iMac, Price = $1230

Please take your time to answer this question, I need detailed answer with full attention! :)
And your kind help will be highly appreciated, And If you satisfy me with a good helpful answer, I will love you forever. I will never forget. Please answer..!!

Thanks a lot in advance.

Answer
I use iMacs and Mac pros at least 3 times a week so I can answer you this . I'm more of a of guy but macs are still great pc's no doubt in my mind . And to answer your question it depends on your perogative . The i3 iMac will have enough power for the programs you mentioned , however it doesn't have a good graphics chip . It won't game well at all and you mentioned you may want to game on some off time . So if that is the case the i5 one is by far more powerful and also has decent dedicated graphics . So if you wanna game I'd reccomend the one with the i5 since it has more processing power and a dedicated gpu . Neither will be game maxing beasts but the i5 one can play new games at moderate settings . :) hope this has helped

What would be a good desktop computer for me?

pup_e_paws

Umm, I'm not a serious gamer or anything, but I play the Sims 3 and I have all the expansions for it, and I play the Sims Medievel. I am looking for a desktop computer that can handle that, but that isn't too pricey. The most I'm willing to pay is $600. My friend bought her computer for $300 and she plays the same games as me as well as Skyrim, so don't tell me that I won't find a computer within that budget. I just would like to know what brand is best. Thanks!

Answer
Well, the problem with a prebuilt system, even for minor gaming use...
is that they all come with integrated graphics OR a seriously crippled dedicated graphics card.
Even for Sims use, I would recommend you build your own system.
http://www.hardware-revolution.com/budget-gaming-pc-july-2012/
Check out tier ".75" at the link above. With an OEM copy of Windows 7, the cost to build will be just over $500...and the performance will literally CRUSH the $300 computer that your friend bought.

But if you aren't ambitious enough to build your own system, the best you can do is buy a pre-built system and add a decent graphics card to it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103455
That's a good brand with very good specifications, other than lacking a video card. So...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150581
There's a very high quality video card that will give you a good gaming experience, cheap. And it has a low-profile bracket included, so it should fit the case of the Acer system linked above.
Total cost about $430. It would be tough to beat that for value. You'd have to build your own, to do it...
