Is there a PC game controller? like the ps2's or XBOX's?

There are plenty of game controllers on the market for the PC. I personally like to use my xbox 360 controller. They are USB and Plug and Play with windows, meaning that you don't have to install any software. Here's a great site to find some controllers.

I can't figure out how to get my controller to work properly with my pc games. I've installed the drivers and everything is done correctly, but the controller won't turn on and work. Is there something I'm missing here?
I have a wired controller and plugged it in, sorry i forgot to mention that.
I'm just trying to play some older games, using the keyboard is just taxing for those games lol. I am on a laptop and I plugged it in the back usb port.

Only a wired 360 controller will work, any wireless controller can be plugged into a PC but it is only the battery that is connected to the USB to allow it to charge, so yeah only wired controllers will work

-Hmm Im not sure then tbh mate, mine just plugs in and works, did you try putting it into a different usb socket, preferably on the back of the pc as appose to the front case usb sockets? also what game are you trying to play with it? mine works with most emulators and modern games that want to support it such as fps games, im not sure it would work on an RTS game like command and conquer etc.. though you say it doesnt even turn on.. so yeah Im not sure why that would be tbh mate

I have a laptop I use mostly for gaming, I also have a wired 360 controller I use with it. My laptop has 3 usb ports and was wondering that if I bought 2 more controllers could I play with my 2 friends on my laptop?

Do you like Tomb Raider games? If so, Tomb Raider Legend is a lot of fun, as is Tomb Raider Anniversary. The Prince of Persia series is fun as well. As far as racing games go. Flatout is amazing!

How to make usb pc controller work with emulators?

I have a generic usb pc controller that I got off ebay a while back, and it doesn't seem to react to my game emulators. I have the old system ones, nes, snes, genesis, etc. Is there something special I need to do to make it work, or do I just need a better class of controller? For reference, I'm running windows 7, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Did you configure the controller or did you just hook it up and try to play cause it sounds like you need to configure the controller. Go to options, configure controller plugin or input, whatever it says, and select your controller and setup the controls. Now it should work.

I have a psx and ps2 emulator on my computer. the ps2 controller is more expensive than the pc controller, so i was wondering whether you could play the game using pc controller.

If the PC controller has the same controls (i.e. two analog sticks that can be pressed as a button and all the other buttons), then yes.

Otherwise you will have difficulty in games that use all button layouts.

For games with a simple control layout it will work fine.

First I know nothing about playing games on pc using xbox 360 controller, I just want to play games on pc using a controller. So what do I need exactly? Is there like an "xbox 360 controller for pc" or something? What do I need to buy and How to use it?

You buy the game. Plug in the Controller. Install the driver that is on Package CD or sometimes doesn't even have and you go to the site to download driver. (or even some controllers/joystick it doesn't need because it has own controller the driver and it install automatically when you plug in)

Now is depending which game you should play. Like Sonic Heroes for an example:
Go to in the game and go to Settings/Options to controls and you'll see if your controls working.
If it's working then play it. Some games doesn't even have an options for the controls but it is still working for some games too.

Newer games would really work out for Xbox 360 controller on PC. Even some oldest too.
