Help with gaming pc!?

Juan camil

Hello.
I have a simple question, I want to buy a new gaming computer and I have around 1000 dollars for the pc, but I don't know if I should order a custom computer in webpages like Cyberpowerpc, Ibuypower and others or buy my own pc components on amazon and build it, but I have no experience doing that and I don't know if it is worth to buy the components and build it my self.

Answer
Well, building a computer is a lot easier than you'd think if you take a little time to learn the basics. It is definitely worth it to build it yourself.
Why?
- You'll learn about the parts of a computer and how to build one.
- You'll be able to spend your money on better hardware than you get with a pre built.
- Generally, even pre built computers advertised for gaming have low-mid end graphics cards that do not max newer modern games. So they will run but not always the smoothest or with the best visuals.

So here's what you should look into watching to get a good idea of everything first:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls (How to build)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWsYKW-dRXU (A different, shorter how to build video)

NeweggTV has great videos! However, there are tons of other good videos on YouTube that can teach you everything you need to know. And there are lots of places online like Computer forum boards where people can answer any questions you may have.

This all may seem overwhelming but it is definitely worth it in the end, believe me.

Now here is a gaming build that I listed for your budget:

A few points:

- If you already have Windows 7 64-bit use that extra $100 to upgrade to a 7970 graphics card.

-You don't have to buy from these vendors, it's just a list but I do suggest shopping where it's cheapest. For example: Amazon usually has Hard Drives and DVD Drives cheaper than Newegg, etc.

-For a DVD drive you don't have to get exactly what I listed just get what is cheapest from where you're buying ($17-18 Lite-On, Sony, Asus, it's all good)

Video Card brand typically doesn't matter either, what matters is the numbers, ex) 7850. Just see which is the cheapest and still has good reviews.

I know this is long dude, but I hope this helps

Building a Gaming Pc?

Hello i was just wondering what some of the options today for about $2100 in building your own gaming pc....

Answer
You can build your own super gaming rig for that kind of money. If used wisely you can build the equvilant of a 4 to 5 thousand dollar computer from a boutique computer vendor. Processor is your fist concern. I would not touch anything with less than 2 cores. A dual core processor will out perform a single core cpu on most new games and applications. Next is going to be the videocard. The rest is what you would like to use. I will speck out a great gaming system for you.

quad core cpu (4 processor cores) $294.00

Asus SLI gaming motherboard $299.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131074

Ram (Memory) 2GB $90.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098

Video Cards nvidia 8800gts 2x$279.00= $558.00
(2 for sli video processing) If you want you could buy just one to start and then upgrade later.

Hard drive(s) $110.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073

DVD Burner $75.00

Case $110.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811103010

Power Supply (SLI) $130.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817189008

Floppy Drive $7.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16821152005

Total $1673.99

This config will save you about $400 off of what you were planing to spend. You will need to buy a copy of Windows. I would go with Vista ultimate. You are top of the line here and will be able to run all direct x 10 games at high settings. You could take this to a computer shop and have them build it for you. I would rather build it myself, they will upcharge you on the prices and a fee for assembly. I still think that you would come in close to your budget if you had it built.

Hope this helps
