JAMES

hey guys, i know nothing about computers like parts and whats hot and whats not soooo i was wondering if anyone can find me a decent desktop for under 300 that can run diablo 3 fine until im able to upgrade later

like idk what was good here http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=10&name=Desktop-PCs

thanks

Answer
Sorry friend, but you cannot get a decent gaming PC for that amount, $300 is pretty low since the OS is $100 already and the cheapest monitor you could get at newegg (if you're lucky enough) is about $80 but usually good monitors start at $100.

So try saving up a bit more, lets say up to $700 to $800 to get a decent gaming PC that can run ALL GAMES on high-max settings and it would be better if you could build it yourself (much cheaper and well balanced) or have someone build it for you ( like a friend or a local computer shop).

Here is an example for you:

The video card is not something to be proud of. Okay, just to help you get a better idea of what better parts to get with your $800 budget, here is a list of parts from newegg I came up just for you:

Intel Core i3-2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I32120 - $125

GIGABYTE GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - $55 ($45 after rebate)

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL - $22

HITACHI HDS721050CLA362 (0F10381) 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $80

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom - $70 ($45 after rebate)

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100314-3L ) - $160 ($150 after rebate)

Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $50 ($40 after rebate)

LITE-ON Internal 24x DVD-Writer 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model iHAS324-99 - $22

inland 70126 Black 107 Normal Keys USB Wired Standard Keyboard / Mouse Combo - $15

Pixxo SP-5100 2 Watts RMS 2.0 USB Stereo Speakers - $10

AOC 2036S Black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 60000:1 - $103 (1600 x 900 )

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM - $100

TOTAL: $812 ($766 after rebate + SHIPPING), Okay friend, with this build that has an HD 6870, you could play all games on high-max settings especially because the monitor that comes with this build has a very decent 1600x900 resolution (just like my 20" LED samsung syncmaster).

Newegg parts and prices.
