There is some major info missing to judge effectiveness for gaming or value. At extremes, if the CPU is a Pentium D 820 Dual Core and the video is a 6200LE, the price (and system) would be horrible, while a 960 and an 8600GTS would be a poor price and a fair system. This sounds old enough that if it is at a store, they really want to get rid of it. It is a closeout and should be *way* under $500. If it is some person selling a used system, maybe half of that.

push the CPU to AMD 5000+ and the video to 8600GTS 256 DDR3) and you would have a good game system for under $500 w/o monitor. Add a 22" wide for well under $300 (My 22" wide westinghouse was $220 at a BestBuy sale) At under $800, THAT would be a good gaming system at a very good price.
