Good usb PC Gaming headset?

The Duke

I'm wondering what is the best headset for gaming/music on the PC? Preferably one with a USB soundcard because I don't have a soundcard. Or I can get a headset + a cheap soundcard.

Answer
PS3AC EX-01 Wireless Headset is a pretty good one. I needed a new headset and for $20 I couldn't pass this one up. The audio quality is decent and the headset fits decently on your ear. Overall I would recommend it.

What is a good PC gaming headset?

Eric

Budget around 150

Answer
I'll recommend a Logitech headset, which is very good for PC usage, with surround sound. Here you can find an actual user comment on the headset, talking about its great features and comfort-ability:

http://www.amazon.com/review/RJ1SYU4WFW59Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003VANOFY&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=armas9-20

This headset is within your price range and have great features like:
Wireless with decent range.
Charges in about 2 hours for about 8-10 hours use (with 7.1 surround whole time).
Sound is great and flawless.
Light weight for long hour usage.
G keys.
mic auto-mutes when rotated up
Surround works great.
Build quality
Mic works well.

Mackenzie

top 10 wireless gaming headsets?

omar

For durability battery life and comfortability . My price range is 160-230 dollar . I need them mainly gor playing cod and mw3 . I want to hear foot step clearly

Answer
If you want them for CoD or any shooter for that matter, don't get wireless. Not only is there a very small delay in wireless receptions (controllers/keyboards/mice/headsets, they all have the delays), but they also seem to have very hit or miss receptions too, and they're often times more expensive.

The first thing I'd need to know is the platform you're using, whether it be the PS3, Xbox360, or PC.

Multi-platform headsets

Tritton Universal headsets - Will work with all 3 of the said platforms perfectly. They've recently come out with newer editions of their headsets for 7.1 surround sound.

Astro A40s - A50s are wireless, but practically identical. 7.1 surround sound

PC Exclusive headsets

Logitech G930 - Wireless headset built directly for gaming. It's wired G35 counterpart would be my recommendation, but I went with this because you suggested you were looking for a wireless headset.

Anyone know of a wireless PC gaming headset that has a removable microphone?

Gregg

I like to watch movies on my PC while laying on my bed and the $180 pair of (wired) headphones I had broke for the second time because I fell asleep while watching a movie. The power cord keeps cinching and the ear now crackles. So I want a wireless headset that has a removable microphone so that there will be nothing to break if I happen to snooze off during a movie.
Also it has to have a charging cord, not a stand. They have to be usable while charging.

I'm pretty sure no headset like this exists.
@Christopher - Thank you, these were really the only headset that I saw that came close, but it is always advertised with the charging stand so I figured you needed to hang them up to charge. In fact these were the reason I added that clause for needing the cord, but if they can charge while in use, they will be perfect... so thank you. :)

Answer
I'd definitely recommend the Tactic 3d Omega. They're wireless and cross-platform so they'll work with all systems/consoles.

The range is rate at 40ft but I've gone well over 50ft and still been fine. the mic detaches and the earcups pulse in a subtle blue glow - looks really cool. they can be used while being charged as well. i've owned mine for almost 2 years and love them.

good luck and happy listening :)

What's a great wireless gaming headset compatible with xbox 360 and PC?

FrankG

I'm looking for a great wireless gaming headset compatible with both xbox 360 and PC. I play a fair amount of games on both and want something I can just easily switch to the other. I've read some terrible reviews on turtle beach products, but the word on the street is that they're awesome. Any advice would be helpful!
Edit: if that's just not possible, what's a good WIRED one?

Answer
Astros A30 or 40s.

I am looking to buy a really good quality gaming headset for intense PC gaming but I do not know what to buy. My budget is maxed at 400$. What is the best gaming headset I can buy for 400$ or less. Thank You for the help!

Answer
I'll recommend an Astro headset, which supports both PC and laptops, with surround sound. Here you can find an actual user comment on the headset:

This is one of the best wireless headset which is within your price range and have some cool features. The features, aesthetics and comfort are all solid on the A50s. The virtual surround sound really enhances gaming experience. You can easily mute the mic by moving it in the vertical position. Mixer and knob quality is both ergonomic and solidly built. The volume knob feels great and is easy to fine-tune without accidentally blasting the sound level too high. Headset does create a little bit of discomfort when paired with 2 glasses such as 3D glassed over normal glassed after prolonged use however in normal usage like with single glass for eyesight and without glasses it is most comfortable.

You can also check out Sennheiser PC 380 or Turtle Beach Ear Force XP510 they are also great headset and are within your price range.

What is the best sounding gaming headset?

Grant

I'm considering buying a gaming headset for my PS3 and PC games/movies. The only things i'm looking for in it is it has good bass, its comfortable, and can get loud without losing quality. I'm thinking about buying a Turtle Beach DSS or just getting a Dolby Compatible Headset so i can get better, directional sound out of it. I'm going to play Black Ops and hearing the enemies all around would be awesome. Any suggestions are great

Answer
You should get the TB X41 or DPX21. Both are Dolby 7.1 headsets, have tons of features and sound AMAZING. The X41 is wireless and the DPX21 is wired and comes with the DSS!

I currently have $3000 to spend on laptop and games. I want to buy a very good gaming laptop for all the Starcraf 2 games, and battlefield games. Those are the only games I like right now, and I can't find any other games I like. So is it worth it to buy the best gaming laptop or should I just find a decent laptop? If it's worth it, what's the best brand? Should I spend money on gaming accessories like wireless headset which cost $200?

Answer
Starcraft2 hardly requires a high end laptop. One that's around $1000-1200 is going to be plenty powerful enough and still have a 17" screen.

But...why buy a laptop? Dollar for dollar, they aren't as powerful as a desktop, can't have their hardware upgraded as much and I find they just don't last as long either.

For $800-1000 you can put together a very good PC with a mid-range video card. Later, you can either buy a 2nd identical card for a SLI setup, or upgrade to a newer single card. In fact, you can upgrade the other parts as well although personally, I think once you start considering a new motherboard it's time to just build a whole new system. The other advantage with a desktop is you can buy a nice keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers and reuse them on your new system. I'm still using the same speakers from over a decade ago, for instance. My current monitor is a 32" 1080p HDTV which I expect to last me at least 10 years.
