Gaming PC specs from mid 2012 - how long will it last?

So I'm wanting to get a new gaming PC as my current one is quite old, I've done some research and I know the specs of the one I'm wanting to get were quite good for early 2012, but how long will it remain good for considering that it is now late 2013?
Specs of second hand one I'm wanting to get:
asus rampage 4 extreme
intel core i7 3930k hex core
Gainward gtx 680 phantom edition
corsair h100 liquid cooling
corsair dominator gt16 gb ram
corsair ax1200 watt psu

You have a monster on your hands, but it's already outdated before it even comes off of the shelf. You've probably already heard that, too.
The problem with staying on the very leading edge of electronics/computers is that you have to spend a ton of money to stay up with the new gear, which runs all of the new games - and then it's outdated within a year, maybe two.
I've always approached PC gaming from the strategy of staying a year or two BEHIND the bleeding edge, just to save myself hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in the longer-term.
Patience, my young grasshopper! Those games that cost $60 brand new will be on the second-hand shelf next year for half price!
