I have been planning on selling the PS3 to save for a EXCELLANT gaming PC.
I have no idea on what I need to complete the package to have a finished rig.
I dont need it to DO ANYTHING but play games with sound.
Minus Keyboard,Mouse,Monitor,speakers.
Whats everything I need to complete this goal. ?
Also could you tell me what parts I should invest the most $$$ on.

You might be wondering, why have i choosen graphic card with so high price, but this is the graphic card with the best performance in todays maket. It can easily outperform PS3 or any other consoles in gaming.

This card can play future games till 7-8 years. So no need to worry about gaming. If you truely want highest gaming performance then go for it.

If you want other cheaper cards then GTX 260, Geforce 9800 GTX are also a good option.

$300-350 Budget for gaming PC?

Tomorrow I should be getting a paycheck around $300-350, and I want to use all of it to build a pc that can play games such as BF3, Skyrim, Deus Ex:Human Revolution, The Witcher 2, Diablo 3 and many other game alike on graphic settings near upper medium-high with 60fps, the computer I have just wont cut it anymore for gaming.
Whats the best build for my budget? Is $350 enough of a budget to build a PC strong enough to run those types of games near high at 60~ fps? If not, what kind of budget am I looking at? Thanks.
Im not looking for ULTRA settings or 120fps.
Medium to high with 45-60 fps is all I need, and I already have a decent gfx card.

Ultra cheap gaming pc?

Q. I need a ultra cheap gaming pc, it should have 8gb ram. I don't mind amd or intel. I have a harddrive sorted. By ultra cheap I mean £200 and below. I don't need a monitor, speakers, keyboard, etc. In the £200 windows (which is like £70) needs to be in there. I need to play minecraft while recording with fraps at 20+ fps if possible. Thanks. Where can i get a nice gaming computer for $1200? Preferably UNDER $1500, NO HIGHER. Monitor, speaker, keyboard, and mouse not needed, i already have some from my old PC. I want to buy from retail stores, but if i must need to buy @ online, then pls gimme links. i really dont want to buy online cuz my parents dont trust the internet and ill have to find another solution for payment. also from my previous question a person told me to build one- but idk how to build one cuz im only 16 and im completely clueless on how to build and i dont have any computer degree or experience with computers. i just need a nice pc thats going to handle crysis and bioshock really nicely!!!!! plzzzz help!!!!! also no macs sorry

look for the video card.
All of these PCs have video cards such as the 8800 GT and GTS. A high end video card is what makes up a gaming computer.

Building budget gaming pc?

I want to build a pc for gaming at 1024x768
I already have a decent 450w psu, monitor,speakers,etc. I just need the build. My budget is Rs.20000.
won't a 5770 be an overkill at that resolution?
I was thinking along the lines of 5670, 6670, etc.

A 5770 would definitely be an Overkill. Get a 6670 1GB, preferably from MSI.
If you're going to game at that resolution, then an AMD Phenom II X2 560 (Rs. 4650) Processor is best.
An Asus M5A78L-M LX ( Rs. 3000) Motherboard. A single Kingston 2GB stick of RAM at 1333Mhz ( Rs.1500).
And if you need a cabinet, a Cooler Master Elite 310 is good. (Rs 1900 )

I know that doesn't count up to Rs.20000, But If you're willing to spend that much, add a few more bucks and get a better monitor ( which supports more that 1024x768)
because the 6670 is capable of handling latest games upto 1280x720 (or a little more) smoothly.

I've heard from people that I can get one for $300-$400 easily but I don't know how and where to get the right one. I would appreciate f you could help me.

A "good" gaming pc depends on your definition of good. To someone who really cares about uping those framerates and chisselled graphics then i laugh at $300-$400 for a "good" rig. Especially if you dont already have a keyboard/mouse/hardrive/cdrom/dvdrom/monitor/speakers.
However $400 could get you a "decent" computer to play games on "decent" graphics. You by all means wont impress your friends with max graphics on a game like crysis, however, you would be able to play most games on medium graphics and high performance games on low graphics. If your looking for a "good" gaming rig you are going to need a powerful processor/videocard and lots of fast ram. That alone for even cheap ones will go over you $400 range. It does help to have a buddy build it for you though cause you save out on labor costs and installation charges, which will cut a huge chunk out of your bill

Always check system requirements for a game. Battlefield 2 wants video card with 128 ram NVieda GeForce 5700 or greater. You have 8 channel audio and stereo speakers. Spend for better speakers, at least a subwoofer but preferably a 5.1 setup. It is a fine system. I like the power supply, which could handle a 2nd video card in SLI mode. How many open bays? How many open slots? How many open PCI Express slots? How many USB ports? How many firewire? Do you burn a lot of DVD? If so, you will want a 2nd drive to read from. Does it really matter what color the neon is? One year parts and labor huh? Is that on site or send it back and wait? How long a wait? Install CDs or Recover CDs? I notice that CPU is 800 FSB but the motherboard is 1333 FSB. It is an OK machine. More than enough for the games you run today.

How do I use the mic on my Xbox Headset and have the sound play through my PC speakers?

I have connected my Xbox 360 controller to my computer and am currently using the mic for it in games such as Counter Strike.
I want to be able to use my mic and have the sound play through my PC speakers (or another headset connected to my sound card) instead of the Xbox headset.

If anyone could help me, that would be great.

For the mic:

You will need a 3.5mm adaper so it will fit properly into the microphone jack.

For the speakers:

One of 2 things will happen:

1. Because the headset is connected into a mic-only jack (if thats the case), then it will not be detected as an audio playback device, and so will only function as a microphone, and audio will come through your normal speakers.

2. It supports headsets with only one wire, then all you have to do, is on the taskbar of your pc, right-click the speaker icon, then select "playback devices", and this should show you a list of audio devices available to the computer. Right-click the headset, and then click "disable".

A simple 3 tray cabinet for extra cooling
normal keyboard mouse
normal 2.1 speaker
550 W power supply (depending on what graphics card you installing)
A Genetic USB Gamepad like frontech JIL 1731 will do ( Use x360ce app to stimulate it as xbox 360 controller ) Can play almost all game (I Did played all till date , you can find proof on my youtube channel MrNeroYoung)

and company of RAM , HDD, Graphics card wont matter when building entry level gaming PC. Just compare few of manufacturers and get the best out of it in ratio of price and performance that suits you best.
Plus Minus you can make changes. It will cost around 35k-40k rupee in India which is aprox. 600 $ plus minus 50$.

If you want a laptop for gaming then got for HP Pavilion 15 n013tx, the best at it's price, around 733$

Yes, It is, IF you choose the right spec and build it your self. And If by "under a grand" you mean under 1000 $, here's my recommendation :

Yeah maybe that price is a bit...high, but you'll be able to play heavy games like crysis 2 on full HD and high settings without lags or something like that.

The Phenom II X4 970 is a beast at gaming and so is the GTX 560. You'll be spending about 199$ less if you go with this setup.

What I'm looking to do is having Ventrilo audio playing through my USB headset, and have music/World Of Warcraft running through the PC speakers. I figured since it's a USB headset, it may work. Any help is appreciated.

Interesting thought, but probably not going to work ...

The only thing I can think of if You cant use the start, control panel, sounds and audio devices setttings would be to see if there's a an actual headphone jack on the front of Your particular CD/DVD drive.

Some of the older ones had an option to plug in a set of headphones directly for listening to audio CDs while using the system, but I believe they shot down that option.

Next option, using 2 programs at once, like an MP3 player (not WMPlayer) and the game at the same time - but they will both try to lock the audio hardware for use, and You can only have 1 MAIN program running at a time even though Windows is a multi-tasking OS.

Just a thought, why not hook up a portable MP3 player and use some cheap speakers and the headset?. Or possibly a headphone splitter jack of some sort?.

Processor: Intel Core i5 2500K or AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition.

Hard Drive: 500GB or 1TB

RAM: DDR3 4GB would be sufficient but 8GB wouldn't hurt.

Graphic Card: GTX 560 Ti or the GTX 570 would do.

PSU (Power Supply Unit): 700W or 650W. (PSU is needed to power up the graphic card.)

Gaming Cabinet: Any cabinet would do, but a gaming cabinet has a pretty better built in cooling system. iBall's 'Thunder Bolt' cabinet is pretty sweet.

Mother Board: If your going to get the AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition, then get the ASUS M5A88M. If going for the Intel Core i5 2500K, then get the ASUS P8H 67-MLX.

You'll need a sound card and a pair of speakers.

A UPS.

A Monitor. I recommend Dell monitors.

A mouse and a keyboard.
