How would i get started on building a custom PC?

Im looking to build a gaming PC with the budget of around £750 i want high FPS and MAX settings on most games im going too play. The thing is how would i start learning about how to build a PC which has the best Processors, RAM, GPU etc.. I need as much information as possible so i know everything before i buy the parts and start building it. Also i wanna know how to know to actually put it together and get it up and running.

First, choose the place you are gonna get your parts from. Then you could probably start with the case, or the motherboard, whichever is of higher priority to you. then just get the parts to fit that. google will get you many different tutorials to put it together. you'll want to get building kits too.

I intend to put together my own gaming pc :
- dual Geforce 9800 GX2.
- Intel core 2 Duo E8600.
- 4 Corsair XMS3 Dual channel PC DDR3 1333Mhz 1024MP.
- XFX nForce 790i Ultra sli motherboard.

Is there a complete water-cooling system to handle all of the components, and if not what is the best alternative ?
