Is it more efficient and inexpensive to make a PC by yourself or pick good parts from a gaming PC company like Alienware?
Answer
It's always better to build yourself. You get exactly what you want at the price you want to pay. Most top-tier companies like Alienware, Falcon NW and Voodo charge rediculous amounts for their PCs. Even lower ones like CyberPC charge you 30-40% more than what it would cost you to build it.
There are TONS of install videos on youtube and great guides and help forums at sites like

I mean, do you think the guys working on the assembly lines at Dell/Compaq etc are skilled labor? Get real.
You can build a basic tower with a dual core CPU, 2gb RAM, 250gb Sata HD, DVD burner, etc for $300. A decent gaming PC that can play most games on high settings at 1280x1024 can be built for $600, and every few hundred dollars more gets you noticeable better performance/parts. $1,200 will get you a quad-core and a top of the line graphics card that will push most games at 1080p with all the "eye candy" turned on.

What company should i go with to get a decent gaming pc?
Daniel
I am looking to get a decent gaming pc nothing super. I have read so many conflicting things on different companies. Should I go alienware, ibuypower, or cyberpower. I am kinda computer illiterate so building my own is not an option. Any suggestions
Answer
Cyberpower builds are the best that you can find that are not way overpriced compared to other brands . So Just go to newegg and look into their cyberpower PC's that are currently on sale =P
