I've seen people that capture their screen as they're playing a game. How do I do that? Like say there's a special Movie like they have in between game play to further the story along or just while you're playing, is there a way to capture that and save it as a file?

hi,
i recommend you google fraps.
you can get the trial but it has the logo on the video and it only lasts 30 seconds.
you could also find it on a *cough* torrent but it is not recommended.
your choice..

Answer
It takes component video input. You can probably work out a way to get your video card's output converted to that, but it would likely to be a bit fiddly as they say, and what kind of video quality you'd get might vary depending on what you ended up doing. Most video card HD outputs are either going to be DVI or HDMI. And you might have to spend more money on stuff to do the converting. The included "universal component cable for consoles" wouldn't be much use I don't think.
I used to have a couple old video cards that came with little widgets that converted DVI to component, but those only worked on those specific video cards. You might have to get an actual scan converter. Or recruit an old tv tuner or dvd player or camera you have lying around that has the appropriate inputs and outputs, or whatever.
Frankly I'd just as soon get a capture device that takes HDMI, but if you've got your heart set on this thing, maybe because it records direct to a drive or something, well yeah you can probably do it, with some effort.
