I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC.
I am trying to play Diablo III.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer
The only thing you offer for information is a family of HP laptops known to have cooling issues and noisy fans, and have not stated the CPU and graphics of your specific laptop. Intel Graphics HD 3000 has been reported to play Diablo 3 on low settings with the Sandy Bridge Core i5 or Core i7 if you have an x768 pixel screen. With the higher definition screen, it is too much for the graphics. You also may need a laptop cooler, at least 6GB of DRAM, and IOBIT Gamebooster while it is still free.

You would need to uninstall any unused programs, and turn off the antivirus.
If you have any level below that, it cannot be done. Very few laptops can get graphics upgrades or CPU upgrades. You generally get what you want when you buy it.
I have been advising Lenovo Ideapad Y570 as an ideal budget gaming system at under $700.
I don't know what you have, but if you update, or understand what I wrote, you will know.
CPU Passmark scores are here:

and a second tab has G3D grafics scores.
The Intel graphics is not enough according to the manufacturer

But, since an i5 is powerful, it makes up for some of the graphics weakness and seems to run on a 720p resolution screen when on paper and any of the system checkers will say it does not run. You should try to borrow a copy to try it.
If you have a lower level than Intel Sandy Bridge i5, it probably cannot run on that laptop.
Be sure to add a cooling pad with an HP DV6.

What is a good laptop for gaming under 1000$?

I want to get a good gaming laptop that can play games like fable, Diablo and other high grade PC games. I looked at Alienware online and to order a Pc from dell online is crap. You end up paying 3000$ for a laptop that costs 900$ without customizing it. I don't care if it's a Mac or a Pc as long as it can play games and is around 1000$

The ASUS N61JQ-X1 is $950 on amazon. it has a core i7 1 GB AT 5730 video card 4GB of RAM.
Tech is not going to swallow this thing up in a year. No games require a quad core processor, you can upgrade this to 8 GB and most games will run with a 256mb video card. You can even upgrade the processor down the line to a more powerful one.
This laptop plays any games with med-high to high settings.
I have one of these and have never been happier.
