i need help building a gaming pc under $600 like i need to get the components but i dont know what to get could someone tell me a list of components i should get proabbly for newegg all under $600....

>You didn't say what you will be using it for, but I will assume that you don't intend to be a gamer here. To build a gaming desktop you should have about another $50 - $100 available. You will have to go with AMD for now to keep the costs down and the video card won't be that great.

Now, this is a nice budget computer. The AMD 965 is still a great cpu! The motherboard had to be microATX in order to keep the cost under control. However, I made sure it takes at least 16 gigs of RAM (I figured 8 gigs for you, more than enough). The video card I picked is a lower end card, but I have read GOOD stuff about this EVGA card, so don't expect to play Crysis 2 on it very well, but for other less demanding games, it probably will be ok. This includes a NICE Rosewell case so it ought to look sharp. I think, overall, it will do you just fine. The AMD 965 in this one comes with a stock cooling fan - another item I had to go with, a stock generic cpu heatsink and fan, and I made sure you have some standard thermal paste in case it doesn't come with the cpu in box.

OK I'm looking for a decent gaming computer for about £500-£600. I want to be able to play the majority of games on quite good graphics, and it would be cool if i could run things like Crisis on good graphics. Would be good if screen was included, but i know that's asking for quite a lot :D
Would also be nice if someone could basically explain what i need to look for in a gaming PC, 'cos i don't really understand about the components :P.
Now I've heard that it's cheaper to build your own computer, which i would be willing to do, but again, i don't know much about the parts of PC's...

The formost thing you need in a Gaming PC is a good graphics card. The GTX 460 will play all games just fine. I think it's helpful to have a quad-core processor and a halfway decent power supply. I would compile a shopping cart to see if it is cheaper to build your own.

here's the 9 parts you need to build just the tower.

-Processor
-Motherboard
-Power Supply (600w minimum for gaming)
-RAM at least 4gb
-Graphics Card (at least a GTX 460)
-CD/DVDRW disk drive
-Hard Drive
-Windows 7

In your case, you probably be better off spending a month educating yourself on how to build a PC. Perhaps in that time you can save up an extra 100 pounds for your build.

Alienware? Yeah, you're paying an extra $500 right off the bat for just the name. Dell bought out Alienware and then people who used to manage Alienware started iBuyPower.

People say that consoles are cheaper but I dont get that. You buy a console for $400 and you still need a laptop and you add $400 to that as well. That costs $800.

My gaming PC is $600 and its more powerful than next gen consoles and it does better job of doing work tasks and playing games at the same time!

I completely agree.Not only is it future-proof but it'll save you a great amount of money from buying newer consoles every generation and it is also true you can upgrade any decrepit computer to be able to compete with any new generation console.For a decent PC build it will usually cost around $200-$500 to obtain a decent build, it all depends on which pieces of hardware you are investing in and overtime you can continue to upgrade these components in your computer, something you cannot do with consoles.

In the end,PC gaming will be more cost-effective then console gaming.

GPU -> CPU.

I would write more,but that's basically how it works for games. Grab yourself an average CPU with good overclocking potential and pair that with a decent GPU. Don't forget enough ram (2+GB) and a solid PSU.

I have an Hp mini. I want to make it a gaming pc, but I don't know what to do besides add more ram. I tried to run Garry's Mod on it. It had loaded into the game but once it started, the weapons and such you use in the game were stretched and sometimes textures would be random colors like pink and light green. Same thing happened when I played Team Fortress 2. I want it to be able to play games nice and fast.

A NetBook is SEVERELY limited in all aspects that would make PC gaming possible: Processor, Graphics Card, Ram, cooling, etc.

You really need a different computer to get a gaming pc. There are gaming laptops out there that'll do okay for $600-$700, but you can get the most bang for your buck by building your own desktop pc.

I don't think you can upgrade your NEtBook. Plus, it'll probably void your warranty.
