Gaming PC under $1200?

I am buying a new PC and have $1200. What is the best I could get from either newegg.ca or memory express. And it will at least take me a week or something to buy so please do not include the current deals , just include the normal/regular price :) THANKS :) and yeah i heard memory express has the price match so please keep that in mind :) THANK YOU :)

The cheapest option is to build it. It's easy to do, and you could build a good pc for gaming with less than that. The specs on the one I have now are (that I can name off the top of me head)

16 GB DDR3 ram
Amd phenom 2 black edition with (I think) 4 or 5 cores
Nvidia GTS 450 GPU (oldest part on the computer that I got last year and took out of my old computer)
Lazer 800 watt (I think) PSU
And I can't remember the motherboard.

Built it for 700 bucks (including the price if the case and excluding the price if the GPU which I did not buy with the rest if the parts) I am able to play every game I have on Mac settings.

The HD7950 that you're eyeing to get can play all games on max settings on 1080p, thus is a very decent card although I am pretty sure that your $700 budget would not be sufficient because the card alone is already $300.

I'm looking for a good list of specific PC parts i could use and would be compatible for video editing programs and other media based programs, and high performance gaming.
I know you should customize whatever suits your own needs but id like a good list to reference as i look into PC parts. as long as it would be good for high performance Editing and gaming. And at a rough price of hopefully under £700. I'm not experienced in the technical side to PCs in any regard.

I would like something that can run Starcraft 2, Borderlands 2 and games with a similar demand in high/ultra settings. Intel is not an option. A solid state drive preferable, Radeon HD 7000 series preferable, and quad core is required (Preferably an A-series or Phenom II). I have "mapped out" and priced pc's that are under this total (not sure if everything was compatible, mainly PSU) so I know it can be done.
I certainly love the advice so far. I have minimal experience with Intel (usually because of price, however, a dual core is not enough to handle EVERYTHING I do. Please suggest and Intel/Nvidia build if you think that is better. Ignore what I said above. :)

Why is Intel not an option... price? Or is it availability in your area?

I mention this because Starcraft 2 is a particularly CPU-intensive game that runs WAY better on Intel processors than AMD. Even older Intel processors like the Core 2 Duo/Quads have a clear advantage over AMD. The 2nd-gen Core i3 smokes a quad-core Phenom II X4 or Bulldozer FX when it comes to running Starcraft 2... The A series is just outmatched.

So for the game titles you've mentioned so far, AMD isn't ideal. You can still go with AMD and have good performance, but you'll get lower bang/buck than if you spent the same amount on an Intel/Nvidia build.

By the way I don't think an SSD really fits your budget... you''ll be much better off putting that money into a higher-end GPU or CPU. All the SSD does is make your Windows startup and initial launching of games faster, it doesn't affect performance once they're loaded into memory and running.

I think this setup is one of the best I've seen so far, check it out. The hard drive and optical drive are included, so the whole setup without HDD and DVD drive will cost around $680.

My brother and I are trying to figure how to build a Gaming PC under 700 maybe 800 dollars as I know how to build a great PVR PC for under 450. Anyone have a clue on this as well as any websites to help him. I used a book back in 95 to teach me but he is much younger and needs to learn how to do it and the books these days are useless!!

I'm looking to purchase a gaming pc that already has a monitor with it for under 700 dollars. I want to be able to play games like assassin's creed and skyrim on medium to high settings with reasonable fps. I am not looking to build my own pc as I am a noob and do not feel comfortable messing around with a computer. I know pc experts will be pushing me to build it but i simply do not feel comfortable with it. I am looking at cyberpowerpc and could someone recommend a model they have and some modifications they would make so I could play games and have an easy instillation. I literally know nothing about pcs.

This setup is strictly gaming, it won't match up well in media rendering and what not compared to other cpu's but gaming will be fine:

i3-3220
Asus P8B75
Gigabyte HD 7950
7200rpm HDD
4GB ram
500W psu
Cheap case

Total Cost: ~$700. Depending on deals and sales and what not but that is the general idea. Along with the HD 7950, if you purchase it through an applicable retailer, you also get Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for free. That's 3 free games and you are still at the $700 mark.

If you would like a better processor upgrade to the i5-3570k and the price will increase to about $800. The i3-3220 will fair well in gaming because you will be getting such an amazing GPU so the processor won't really be a game breaker for the most part. You may get better frame rates occasionally with the i5 over i3 but not enough to warrant worry.

I need help picking out parts for a desktop gaming computer that won't break the bank. Budget wise, I want to stay under 700 or 800 dollars. I kind of want to run graphically intense games like Skyrim on decent settings. I also want a fast processor to do all of this. If anyone who is an "expert or good" with this kind of stuff I would really appreciate tips about the subject. If possible could i have a list of parts/components to work with and instructions to build... thanks

This is what I could come up for you. What you could do initially is spend a bit more on the core specs of the system and temporarily use the integrated graphics (which really is not made for gaming) on the CPU then you could upgrade to a better graphics card later (That's what I did). So if you can wait longer to game on it then that would be your best bet.

Also alot of these have mail-in-rebates so you can save money as long as you buy them before they expire, and then there are promo codes but newegg will only allow 1 promo per order. With Windows 7 64-bit OEM it might be a bit over budget initially maybe as much as 20$ after promo minus the rebates if you catch those. If you decide to do this you need to download the PDF's for the rebates before then expire which can be found on the item page. here are the instructions...

#1 Click on where it says "after mail-in rebate card"
#2 Click "print rebate" (you need adobe acrobat reader)
#3 Either print (printer icon) ,and, or save (the floppy disk icon) the pdf file to your documents folder

Most of the computer packages in Best Buy got good CPU's and RAM's but does not have a dedicated graphic card which is really important when it come to PC gaming.

I'd say a 512 MB graphic card would be able to run most of the latest games @ low~med settings.

Good gaming desktop's are around 850$
