A Gaming PC usually defined as a PC that is capable of playing the latest 3D games without any slowdown that can affect gameplay or reaction time.

To accomplish this you will need:
- Good CPU (multi-core processor so background process does not slow down your game).
- Ample RAM (so the game can load entirely into RAM and avoid swapping to hard drive).
- Good Graphic card (one that can play games at your desired setting at 30 frame-per-sec or better).
- Good PC case (one that is silent and have good airflow to cooldown your high performance components).
- Good Monitor (low latency and high refresh rate to eliminate ghosting and slow response).
- Gaming Keyboard/Mouse (can't play without a good, responsive input device).
- Gaming Headset (if you like to chat online and immersed in the 3D environment).

What would you recommend?
Looking towards a mid range gaming pc that can at least run Battlefield Bad Company 2 on max graphics at around 40-60 fps
Price range would be around 600-750$ for everything.

if you are going to make a pc for gaming you are going to need a fast processor. and its going to have to be dual or more if you want it to run smoothly. secondly you are going to need a lot of rams, but that is very easy and cheap to upgrade or install. thirdly you are going to need a graphic card to run games at an awsome display and speed. ussually the least would be 1gb graphic or more to run some of the modern game real well. but after all that is placed you are now going to need a stronger power supply to run all this upgrades, or you will atleast need to set your bios to handle this.

there also other ways such as overclocking your system thru the bios
but it dosent work on all of them

oh and for the proccesor it is going to have to be atleast 2.0ghz dual core

If i bought some DDR3 ram the was clocked over the amount my board could handle would it clock it down?

I was looking into making my first gaming pc so obviously ram is important. The mother board I am looking at supports 1333mhz so if i got 1600mhz of ram would it down grade for me or would it just not be compatible?

I think you will find it will only recognise what it needs to any any surplus ram is ignored.

I am planning on building my own gaming pc to handle games like Skyrim and Far Cry 3 on ultra or high settings. So far these are the parts I am choosing to buy.

AMD just came out with a new video card series to replace their aging Radeon HD 7xxx series. It might be a better value to get a R9 280 when it releases on October 15th ($250) or get a R9 280X that is almost the equivalent of a GTX 770 for $300.

You have a 950 core i7, which means you have a Triple channel RAM controller on the CPU. What does that mean, you are best off getting RAM that is meant to be run in Triple channel. If you have windows 64-bit, you will get a Triple channel DDR3 kit that comes with 3 2GB sticks for a total of 6GB.

4GB is the sweet spot for dual channel RAM, but you have the 950...

so there you go.

Im looking for a gaming pc that can run games like Battlefield 3 and Skyrim a little past recomended settings. Maybe a pc with 8 gb ram, quad core, and better than ATI-Radeon HD 6750. Im hoping to find one in under $900, or if possible, under $800.

Here's a great PC, it has an AMD 965 B.E. (Quad Core) which is still a fairly powerful processor, it's not a i5 2500k by any means but it will definitely get the job done. Also it has an AMD 6850 (Far better than a 6750) which is what I have in my system, I play BF3 and Skyrim on High settings with 40-50 FPS, it runs so smooth.

Also you can design your own PC if you want, and you said you're not much of a PC wiz, these guys offer free consultation, so they will work within your budget to get the most bang for your buck.

Hello, so next week I am going to buy parts for my gaming pc build and I was wondering if this is a good setup. I will be running games such as Battlefield 3, Black ops 2, Skyrim, GTA4, Far Cry 3 and Starcraft 2.

CPU: Intel i7 3770 LGA 1155

Its a very good pc but if you are ready to spend so much why not add an 128 gb ssd along side that hard drive for faster loading and a much faster boot.

MOBO: Gigabyte EX38 chipset or newer
CPU: Intel Q9450 or higher
RAM: (here's the debate: if you use a 64bit OS get as much ram as you can. If you use a 32 bit OS your stuck with 4 GB) I used a 64 bit OS Windows 2008 Server x64 and I have 8GB of G-Skill PC2-1000 Ram, Make sure your RAM has a speed equal to or higher than the FSB speed of the CPU it will help decrease the bottlenecking problem for the data speed from the CPU to the RAM
Cooling: I prefer fans over liquid, but it is truly about choice.
Hard Drive: 3 in total 1) 80GB Western Digital SATA II (for OS only)
2) 1.5 TB Western Digital SATA II (Docs, photos,
and anything else you want to put on it.
3) 1.5 TB Western Digital SATA II ( Movies, or
virtual drives for your games)
Graphics card: I am a ATI fan and love the new HD series cards, but make sure it has a minimum of 512 MB of RAM on board and a cooling fan. I have two GPU's on my system and I run 4 monitors.

Now what I just listed if you bought it retail would run you about 3500.00 to 5500.00. Dependent on your location. I built this system last year and I spent just over 1500.00. I can now buy all of this stuff for well under 900.00. USE EBAY!!!! I have since learned how to find great deals on EBAY and love it. But if you don't have the cash don't bid. Make sure you also have a good power supply in your rig, I used an Antech Quatro True Power 850 Watt PSU. It is not cheap but it is worth it to have the power there when you need it.

If you want to build it your self have fun, it is a great and rewarding experience to build your own system, but if you don't want to build it your self, send an email to jdptechnology@yahoo.com, they will build what you want and do it cheap. I know this for fact because they just built a system for a friend and it had a diamond viper Graphics card with 512MB RAM on the card and had a n ECS MOBO with a Q6600 CPU and 4 GB's of ram and memory card reader and a DVD burner for under 400.00. It is a sweet machine.
