Would this gaming PC be okay for less than £300?

James

I'm thinking about building a gaming PC but I only have a £300 budget. I have composed a list of items that I have found on Amazon. Would these items fit together to play the latest and upcoming games?

The total of the PC is:

£294.95

Case: K3 Gaming ATX Case with HD Audio
MoBo: MSI H61M-P31-G3 Motherboard
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 7770 DirectCU Graphics Card
RAM: Intel Pentium G620 2.6GHz
PSU: 500W (comes with the case)
DVD Drive: LG GH24NS95.AUAA
Memory: Western Digital Green

Answer
Not a bad pc for the price but it certainly won't be able to play latest and upcoming games even on low settings. (Here I am talking about modern games like bf4, crysis3, skyrim, gta5 etc)

If you want to play all the modern games then i would recommend you to save another £300 or £400 and with £600 you can get a PC which can run all games.

$300-350 Budget for gaming PC?

Spencer

Tomorrow I should be getting a paycheck around $300-350, and I want to use all of it to build a pc that can play games such as BF3, Skyrim, Deus Ex:Human Revolution, The Witcher 2, Diablo 3 and many other game alike on graphic settings near upper medium-high with 60fps, the computer I have just wont cut it anymore for gaming.
Whats the best build for my budget? Is $350 enough of a budget to build a PC strong enough to run those types of games near high at 60~ fps? If not, what kind of budget am I looking at? Thanks.
Im not looking for ULTRA settings or 120fps.
Medium to high with 45-60 fps is all I need, and I already have a decent gfx card.

Answer
of the mentioned games BF3 is the most demanding, so i put together a setup good enough to play it on medium-high

cpu: Intel i3-2120 LGA 1155 ($125)
mobo: Biostar H61 LGA 1155 ($50)
ram: G.Skill 2x2GB DDR3 1333 ($25)
hdd: Samsung F3 500GB ($80)
odd: LG DVD burner ($20)
psu: Cooler Master GX 450W 80Plus Bronze ($45)
case: Antec Gaming Series One ($50)
gpu: assuming you have something in the range of the GeForce GTX 550 Ti ($000)
total $395 (prices taken from newegg.com)

this is without OS, monitor, speakers, keyboard & mouse

How to get a good gaming pc for around 300?

Q. I'm a poor fucker who can't afford to build a laptop or get a alienware. The only reason i can put his up is because of my neighbors internet. And being a fat fuck without a job and I'm not going to get one!Is there any way to get a alienware for around 200/300 dollars. And don't say craigslist cause i live in albuquerque and this town is poor as it is, there's only about 5,000 people in this town with a job.

Answer
Alienwares are a ripoff anyways. But you can't build a decent gaming PC for under $600 minimum

$300 gaming pc upgrade?

Madison

I currently have an older computer I built ( e3400 Intel wolfdale cpu, Asus p5641-mlx2/gb ) with 2gb's of 667 ddr2 ram). Now obviously this isn't a gaming machine, but I would like play some of the newer games. MY budget is $300, I was looking on newegg and I was able to get an a8-3850, 8 gb's of 1600 ddr3 ram, and a fairly cheap motherboard under $300. I'm not a fanatic gamer, I have a ps3 and am pretty happy with the graphics on it. The questions I have are: how well will this system perform? Would my $300 be better used somewhere else? I've seen people playing with the a-3850 online and it seems to do okay, the only thing I'm not sure on is on the future, I know a motherboard like the AM3+ will be supported for awhile but I'm not sure on the FM1(I understand neither of these are compatible with my current CPU). Please read what I put thanks so much.

Answer
I was in a similar boat about a year ago, and I was able to build a new one for under 300, and I still get usually over 60fps in most games -I ripped the cpu out of my other pc (only 3.1ghz amd dual core), and found a motherboard that would fit it, but if you can afford a new cpu, that tends to be the bottleneck in most gaming rigs. Here's what I got:

You might start with only 2 or 4gb of ram, I don't think any game really needs 8, but you're on the right track, newegg and tigerdirect are best for putting shit together

Would it be possible to get a good gaming pc for lower then 300£?

Q. hey,I'm looking for a gaming pc for less then 300£,is it possible?

Answer
to buy new then no.
but.
can you build one, its really easy.

have you got a pc now?
if so just upgrade it. just reuse the monitor and case

if its an intel p4 or dual core then
get a better processor like an E5400, E6600
or amd get a phenom X3 or X4. these go for around £50 on ebay.
buy a used hd 4850 £50
2 gb ddr2 ram (minimum) £40
400W psu (power supply unit) like a corsair cx 400w £30 used or £50 new.
or get a better case.
the antec 300 is around £50
thermal paste for processor £5

as long as you dont change the motherboard, then you wont need to reinstall windows.
also here is guide for assembly with pics or just use youtube
