What is a good gaming/home PC under £750?

I'm looking to upgrade my computer, so I thought I'd buy a PC. I need at least 4GB of RAM, Intel Core i5, a graphics card which is capable of supporting Skyrim on High/Ultra and a decent sound card. It should be able to multi-task, and play games such as Skyrim and assassins Creed. The total cost of the PC, OS and the monitor should be no more than £750. Any suggestions (and don't suggest Mac or HP)?
I'm not going to buy internationally. UK based only.

Try going to cyberpowerpc.com. Build the computer to your specifications. If your going to play Skyrim I suggest getting at least 6GB of RAM preferably 8GB. You should be able to build a pretty emaculate computer with just shy of $1200 (USD), or about 750 (GBP). You will assembly every part of the computer. Or even try checking out some of the pre-built ones that might be on sale. Don't worry they wont be Mac or HP, but they will be PC based computers which are better for gaming. You pick what you want to go together and alerts will show if certain parts are not compatible.

Should I buy a gaming pc in parts or all at once?

I'm trying to build a gaming PC that's around $1400.00. I'm on a tight budget so i was thinking i could buy it in parts. This would allow me to splurge a little on better parts. Problem is the return policy is only good for 30 days so if something's broken, I've just got a bunch of expensive paper weights lying around. This is my first time doing this and I'm curious as to how it's normally done. Any suggestions?

$1400 isn't a "tight" budget for a gaming PC. In fact, I would consider a budget over $1k quite roomy. A common midrange build goes for around $750. The tightest budget gaming build I ever worked on was ~$500.

So with $1400, buy it all at once. There is absolutely no reason to do otherwise.

Number 1 thing I'd look for first is a good graphics card you can go with ATI or Nvidia. Newegg and Tigerdirect usually have good deals on 550 ti or 560 Ti cards which are Nvidia.

Ram go with 1600 or higher. With at least 8gb. I have 12 but never use it all.

Hard Drive go with 7200 rpm or get a solid state drive (SSD) and put your OS on it you will have good boot times and then you can put games or whatever on a different drive.

Motherboard - make sure it's compatible with your cpu if your getting a 8 core/quad core AMD will be AM3+ and intel will be LGA 1155 I believe.

This summer I plan on building my own gaming PC and assembling it at home because it is cheaper and I like to customize things myself. It is an 850 dollar computer but the specs are exceptional. For the motherboard and processor, I am following a YouTube tutorial. In the YouTube video it says only 500 watts of power are needed, but in the comment section somebody (who was picked for best answer) claims that you actually need at least 630. Thus, for a system with a single HD7850, a good branded 600W PSU is the ideal one to get and since your mobo does not support crossfire, then that 750W is too much for that build since Xfire is already not possible.

BTW, for Xfire, amd recommends 600W minimum, thus 700W is the ideal one to have (just an added info).
