What does a PC need to be able to play games like Assassin's Creed or Watch Dogs? Do these things come with the PC or do I have to buy them separately?

Or is it as simple as putting the PC game CD into the CPU?

Does the PC need a modem to work?

What I know is that I have to download adobe shock wave player and adobe flash player. Is this information TRUE?

Gaming systems prevalent today have the latest chipset, a large power supply, powerful processor with up to 6 cores, 16-32 GB of DDR3 memory and multiple GDDR5 video cards that support latest OpenGL and ActiveX versions with as much graphics memory as possible and latest ports to connect a HD or 3D display.

Upgrading an old desktop to these specifications would mean virtually replacing everything on the old system. Your old system might not support the new components. You may have to replace the power supply, motherboard, processor, memory, video cards, hard drive and probably even the chassis. Therefore, it would be less of an upgrade and more of a new build. It might actually make more sense to leave the old system as it is, maybe sell it or use it elsewhere, and build a new gaming rig with new parts.

If you want an OEM gaming system, you may check the Alienware series of gaming systems. As budget is not a constraint, you can get the latest and most powerful one on offer. Check the link below to explore:

I'm going to upgrade my pc within this week....

the configuration is....

Processor - Core 2 Quad Q9550
Motherboard - Asus P5q Pro
Graphic Card - Palit Radeon HD 4870 1gb sonic
Power supply - CoolerMaster Extreme Power 600W
Monitor - Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22-inch

But the Problem is I hav decided not to upgrade my hardisk...

I'm going to use my Old 160gb IDE segeate Hardisk....
Will it effect my Gaming in ANy way...???

AND also please comment on my configuration....

it depends on how old it is. originally IDEs bandwidth was only 16MB/s which would limit your gaming as most data trasnfers at ~25MB/s. now, IDE can reach 133MB/s which wouldnt bottleneck your harddrive at all.

however, if you are concerned about it, a new 500GB hard drive is only $50-70 but I understand you are probably on a budget.

If you really want a good gaming PC, you'll need to build it yourself.

As for your questions..
1) 3 GBs.
3) Not a dell, their horrible. I recommend Gateway, I've never had a problem with them.
4) Depends, a lot, probably.

Intel GMA X3100, this is the graphics > and it's awefully HORRID
even if you configure with the highest cpu, it does not help one little bit

now as far as putting a graphics card into it ... think i got to stop you day-dreaming
there is no spare room inside ... no slots to plug the card ... so ... dead end
laptop graphics are pretty un-upgradeable, save the rare exotic gaming breed

so please get your build right in the first place

a decent gaming laptop will set you back $1000+ and again it will not be upgradeable
a desktop will make for a far better choice

I am a college student and need a decent, reliable computer that will last me at least 3-4 years. I will be playing SOME games but the priority is having a solid, fast computer. Only issues are that the CyberPower has a AMD processor while the Dell has an Intel i5. Should this be an issue? Also how do CyberPower computers perform reliability-wise? I don't really plan on building my computer and just use it the way it came...

The Dell i5 is Intel integrated graphics. Forget about gaming with it at all.
And, the Cyberpower PC at Bestbuy has graphics that is no better. It is a piece of crap GT 520 with the FX-4100.

Your other bargain priced gaming PCs
When a desktop fails, you can replace the failed part.
A normal sized ATX mid-tower can also be upgraded.
That often takes a new power supply and graphics card, unless starting with an OK PSU, which Dell and HP do not (nor most other common brands).
To know how "fast" a PC is, compare it to one you know, by checking its CPU and ram level.
If you need wireless, you add a card (or dongle in a pinch if totally lazy)
Solid? that takes business level or build-your own.

Cam I run the PC game Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition on my Dell E310?

I have a basic Dell E310 that has never been upgraded and I don't have the option right now to upgrade it or get a new computer. Will I be able to run Oblivion on it? I don't care if it has to run on the lowest setting just as long as it runs smoothly. I have Sims 2 and it runs fine on it.

if it barely passes the test then the game still might run slowly.

If money is no object go to dell.com and look up the alienware gaming rigs. They are the top of the line as they come and they are worth every penny. they should last you about 8 years before they become old. If your more conservative you can go to any major pc website like dell, sony, Toshiba etc. and browse through many of those gaming pcs but they will all vary in specs vs price.
