Playing games from Puket on my PC, will it work?

Q. Hi,
I am travelling to phuket not long from now, and I know they sell PC games very cheap there. If I bought one and tried to play it on my computer, would it work without modification?

When I went to Thailand a couple of years ago, I bought a bunch of games and tried to install them. None of them worked. I thought they would, since a few years earlier I had gone to Singapore. Everything I bought in Singapore worked just fine. Nothing I bought in THailand worked.

Hello there,

I'm finding retailing shops to feed my needs for this following games,

- Sally Spa

I saw internet selling them, but i'd rather buy them in the retail shops in Singapore.

Just wondering because i know a lot of GBA pokemon games are fake but i dont know about these ones. is this an offical copy of Pokemon Yellow?

I'm not able to look at the link right now because I'm on my phone. But look at the picture on the game and determine whether or not it is the same as the legitimate games. If the picture is overly shiny or the colors are too dull/faded, beware. Make sure the item is not located in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, or Singapore because it is very likely to be a bootleg. Anything from the U.S. is usually safe. Make sure that the seller has a feedback rating over 99.7%. Look at the negative and neutral feedback the seller has received and check to see if there are any complaints regarding the authenticity of the items that have been purchased from the seller.

EDIT: I looked at the game and it looks legitimate to me. I own a Pokémon Yellow game that looks exactly like that.

What do i need to know if i wish to build a normal pc that is value for money yet give good performance?

What will an average pc of today need inside it ,in terms of hardware? Also, what are the current standards of hardware components, which are value for money, and deliver exceptional performance. Pls advice on brands of the hardware also. How long can they last? What other addition can be made and their purpose.Preferably like to hear views from singaporeans and malaysians since i'm living in Singapore for prices and availability of components.

This question has no answer. What you consider an average PC and what I consider an average PC and what Dell and other makers consider an average PC is all relative. What I mean is when building a PC you have to know what you plan to use that computer for. If you want to play all the latest and greatest games and have a decent online experience then you will need a dual-core cpu and mid- to high-level video card and may even consider SLI and RAID. If you are building something to fucntion as an office computer with average gaming abilities then you don't really need dual-core and a mid-level video card would suffice.

I currently have 3 complete systems. My main system which runs games and a lot of other software is as such:

ASUS A8N5X Motherboard
AMD Athlon 4800+ X2 CPU
2 (1024) Dual-Channel XMS RAM
BFG 6600 PCI-e Graphics Adaptor
2 400GB Western Digital 7200RPM Hard Drives (in RAID0)

MY second system is almost identical except for the cpu which isnt dual-core and video which is a 6200 and the motherboard being a Gigabyte.

My third system is:

MSI K8MM-V
Athlon 3200+ 754 Processor
BFG 6600+ AGP Graphics
2 200GB Maxtor Hard Drives in RAID0

all three of these computers vary but all three can run any game on the market. They can also do a lot of other applications. The dual-core system is actually a waste as few, if any, applications actually take advantage of its full potential.

Also, all three of these systems can and do run Vista as I have the beta RC2 and have installed it on all three without any problems. All three are also 64bit, but since there are software issues with 64 OSes I dont use it.

Hope this helps though doubtful.

Studying
The kids( like are they nice?)
the places and things to do there
Hazards

Studying: Its a VERY competitive and stressful education system in Singapore. I'm not exaggerating, its true. But if you put in effort and study and attend classes you will not repeat a year of studies like me! lol

The Kids: Ok, Singapore is said to be a multi-racial country where the people live in harmony. Its true to some extend, but there are haters around. So watch out for idiots who might make fun of you. Don't get into unnecessary arguments. 95% of the kids are cool and you will get along fine~

Things to do: There is not alot of things to do in Singapore im afraid. There are parks, a zoo, a place called sentosa(not bad) bird park, shopping malls, lan shops to play games, arcades, movies ect. Whatever you can get in the states is much more i guess. You are too young so you canot enjoy the night life~ No pubs and clubs fer ya~

Hazards: Alot of rules to abide by.. Everything gets you fined and stuff. You will learn as you go..

Games: Yes you can get the games here that are available in the states at the same time. ESP for PC games. Check out Sim Lim Square and Funan Mall to buy original games. Movies we might be abit slower tho. Not as slow as UK tho~

Singapore is hot and wet... Its boring.
