What is a good laptop to buy right now that would be able to play most pc games?

I am just now looking into pc gaming and I wanted to know what laptop specs I should look for so that I can play most pc games. I would be looking to play popular console games, nothing too complicated.

I would also like to know if pc gaming would deliver the same quality of gaming as consoles. Do pc games lag or have any notable limitations or setbacks? Would any laptops under $600 or $500 suffice for good & reliable pc gaming?

A REALLY good laptop could be a Sony VPCEG27FM Notebook PC! it's really good and it's about 300 or 200 dollars.It can support over 300 games

Looking for a complete PC (all parts and an OS) for under $600 capable of at least mid - high gaming graphics. The thing is that I don't know a ton about computers. I'm buying this as a gift for my nephew, and I've personally been using the same PC for going on seven years just fine. I know it's asking a lot of anyone to find me a PC considering the tremendous amounts listed on eBay, but it'd be appreciated if you could at least steer me in the right direction.

That's a far superior site when it comes to price and quality. Also, gaming on mid to high quality isn't cheap. $600 will get you an "okay" computer.
