If a game isn't a sensational seller, the game manufacturers will more than likely drop the price sooner to help move the games.

In this case if the game had some expansion packs, they will usually package them with the game, and you can really get a great value. If a game is usually more than 2 years old, you can really really get a great buy because they will usually end up in the bargain bin for around $10 (at least on PC games that is).
