What is a good list of specs for a gaming pc?

Walter

I want to own a gaming PC for various reasons my main driver now is pretty good but it is a everyday computer it is fairly new so it plays games at a fairly good speed because the specs are pretty good but I want a gaming PC that is dedicated to just that games the main reason is because I like to play emulators and when I try to play the Wii, play station, game cube etc. emulators it is unbearably slow with certain games and I wonder what I would need to have something that could handle them at full speed. any advice will help

Answer
everyone here is pretty clueless lol

for wii emulation you NEED a i5-3570k/4670K (or an i7-3770k/4770k but it doesnt help much over the i5), period.
there is NO other cpu which can handle wii emulation. even a 5.0ghz fx8350 can NOT handle wii emulation at full speed (i know from personal testing as i had one).

and for pc gaming, you want a decent graphics card.
so a gaming pc build which can play pc games and wii emulation id suggest:

i5-4670K (overclocked to 4.0-4.2ghz)
coolermaster 212 cooler (or better)
$150+ or so Z87 motherboard (to handle overclocking w/o any trouble from weak vrm or capacitors)
8GB ddr3-1600 memory
gtx 660/760 graphics card or an r9 270X or an amd 7870 ghz edition.
atleast a 650W quality pus like a corsair TX650 or HX650 or better.
any decent mid tower case such as corsair 300R will do fine.
1-2TB 7200rpm HDD
120GB SSD (optional, used for main boot drive and used to store your installed programs on. should be enough room for a few games which you wish to have fast load times. mmorpgs benefit greatly)

benjamins build is one of the worst ive ever seen :/
a logysis psu? shoot yourself now... it wont even power the computer at idle...

and moist is completely clueless about everything...
ssd do NOT make textures render faster... the textures are loaded into ram... and then passed to your gpu.
do you understand how SLOW SSD are? they are like 1/10 the speed of your ram, and like 1/50 of your gpus memory...
your pricing of cpus is way off, and ram memory capacity isnt in gigabits :/
you need to learn how to better use google....
