Answer
I will put original release date and system since many of the older games have been re-released for newer systems like ps3, ds, and as apps.
Final Fantasy 1: Dec 18, 1987, NES
Final Fantasy 2: Dec 17, 1988, NES (never released outside Japan)
Final Fantasy 3: Apr. 27, 1990, PC (never released outside Japan)
Final Fantasy 4: July 19, 1991, SNES/ PS1 (released as FF 2 in North America)
Final Fantasy 5: Dec. 6, 1992, SNES/ PS1
Final Fantasy 6: Apr. 2, 1994, SNES/ PS1 (originally released in North America as FF 3)
Final Fantasy 7: Jan. 31, 1997, PS1
Final Fantasy 8: Feb. 11, 1999, PS1
Final Fantasy 9: between July 7, 2000 and Feb. 22, 2001 depending on location, PS1
Final Fantasy 10: between July 19, 2001 and Jan. 31, 2002 depending on location, PS2
Final Fantasy 10-2: Mar. 13, 2003 to Feb. 20, 2004, PS2
Final Fantasy 11: May 16, 2002 to Sept. 17, 2004, PS2/ PC and Apr. 18-20 for Xbox 360
Final Fantasy 12: Mar. 16, 2006 to Aug. 7, 2007, PS2
Final Fantasy 13: Dec. 17, 2009 to Dec. 16, 2010, PS3/ Xbox 360
Final Fantasy 13-2: Dec. 15, 2011 to Feb. 3, 2012, PS3/ Xbox 360
Final Fantasy 14: Sept. 22, 2010, PC, to be released early next year for PS3
Final Fantasy 3 is for NES (in Japan), DS, iOS, and android.
Unless you mean what is actually Final Fantasy 6, that is for SNES, PS2, GBA, Virtual Console, and PSN.
Final Fantasy 4 is for SNEs, PS1, DS, GBA, PSP, Virtual Console, WonderSwan Colour, and FOMA.
That really is only a few of the games, there were so many spin offs and other versions of the series (eg. final fantasy crystal chronicles).

Answer
New MacBook Pros are coming out with IvyBridge processors by July. So waiting is basically pointless. Get it now, if you can wait for extra performance, less power consumption (by IvyBridge Processor) Also with a newly REdesigned aluminum unibody for macbook then wait.
Choice is yours!
