Q. Hi I am building my first gaming computer. Here are my parts that I am thinking about putting in:
Video Card:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604
Hard Drive:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042
Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136247
Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271
CPU: hhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
This totals up to be $750. I have a budget of about $800 I currently play games including: Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, and League of Legends, but I am considering to playing games (if I build this desktop) such as: COD 4 and BF3
Some questions that I have:
Am I missing any crucial parts?
Will this computer be able to handle those games?
Will I be able to use Screen Capture Software?
Are there any other better parts that you recommend?
Can I use this video card instead? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625
Thanks!

Answer
Your build is an incredibly huge over-kill for those games. But if you're planning on playing more graphically demanding games like Metro 2033 or Crysis, it's fine.
You could get a build for much cheaper...
A build like this would be much more suitable for your needs:

Which gaming laptop should I buy? JUNE 29 2012?
Q. I'v got a desktop already for gaming, but I want a laptop because it is portable.
Can you give me some ideas on what to buy? please don't tell me to build my own.
I am thinking about Samsung series 7 gamer and Toshiba Qosmio X870 but no Dell/Alienware/Hp/Razer.
I game a lot, and can the laptops I mentioned game Battlefield 3/ Crysis 2/ Diablo 3/Starcraft 2 and the upcoming games of the year on high/ultra settings??

Answer
Get the qosmio is better. It should runs Battlefield 3/ Crysis 2/ Diablo 3/Starcraft 2 at high detail setting.
