Would a gaming pc perform better than a normal pc?

If I bought a gaming pc, instead of normal pc, would internet explorer, firefox, adobe photoshop, front page, email applications and pagemaker work better? By work better I mean would they open and close quicker, as well as function quicker.

yes it does, Gamiing PC Configuration will perform 200% to 500% better than a regular PC configuration...why? cause gaming configuration PC's usually are twice or 3 time faster than regular PC's .....Gaming PC's use a better CPU (up to 6 cores in some cases) and Video Cards (up to 1gb or more) and a high amount of RAM so games can run smooth and without any problems and any frame drops which make other programs like CAD, Word, Webpages, Photoshop , corel programs and even 3D programs run like speed of light.......

I want a gaming pc but they are high. I got a xp pc and I'm running games on it and it's slow sometimes. But I'm going to get a new computer but it's not a gaming pc. Is their any programs I can download and make it a gaming pc.
