PS3 and PC gaming headset?

So this is sort of a two part question. I want to get a pair of gaming headphones for xmas and want to give my parents a heads up so that they have time to look for them. Does the ps3 controller micro usb give gaming options like the xbox does? I want some headphones that will work on my PC, iPhone, and my PS3. Is there is a pair of headphones that will work, or will i have to get two pairs? I have seen pairs that are universal but i have never heard of the companies. Any help is great thanks!!

Gaming headset for PS3?

I'm considering buying a gaming headset for my PS3 and I am torn between the Turtle Beach PX21 and the Tritton AX180. I want a headset with stereo sound that has a microphone, but I want to keep the price tag below $100 if possible and I want something that will last more than 6 months. I mainly play COD MW2 online right now and usually play about 5 hours a week. Anyone have either of these headsets, and if so, would you recommend them. Or does anyone else have a different headset they recommend? Thanks.

X12's are not compatible with PS3 and X16's don't seem to exist.

I have the Turtle Beach EarForce X31s, and I must say they are AMAZING. They have 5.1 surround sound, are completely wireless when it comes to game sound (voice chat requires mic cable), and have very good bass, as well as the capability to be used with any system (Xbox, PS3 and PC). They are also very durable, I have dropped mine many times and they still work perfectly. They are very comfortable, and the mic cable isn't that big of a deal when you're playing, or if you prefer not to talk to anyone, then just unplug it and enjoy a completely wireless experience. They do use batteries fairly quickly, but if you get yourself a decent set of 4 rechargeable AAA batteries, then you can just charge 2 while you use 2 in your headset, and changing them only takes a couple of seconds. The X31s go for only $100, and the X41s (same thing except 7.1 surround sound, digital audio, and a bigger wireless receiver) go for $160.
