DIY Desktop under $900?

Hello I was trying to find a DIY Desktop on newegg.com.

I was trying to find a combo pack that came with a AMD Phenom II X6 2.8GHZ or higher, 4GHz of ram or more and a motherboard that can run crossfired Radeon HD 6850's, a great case, 500 GB Hard Drive or more, and all of the other items I need for a computer.

I was going to put on a Radeon HD 6850 on it for now then later put crossfire it.
I want it to last me a while and run my games maxed.
Also I have a windows vista disk that I got with my laptop can I use that?

if not I can just barrow a windows XP disk from a friend
Or if I get into the IT acadimey I can get a free copy of Windows 7.
also would i need to purchase cables?

As An Answer: If you're asking wether it is a good computer or not: Yes, it is. However most games won't use more than 4 cores. So you'd just be wasting some money by getting a 6-core processor.

I have no knowledge about how to build a pc. Should I attempt to build it myself, or should I choose the custom parts on iBuyPower, CyberPower, or another custom build site and have them build it? I really only plan on using it for simple games like minecraft (with mods), Armada 2 (with the DayZ mod), TTT, TF2, etc.

Build it yourself and here's one that is under $900 BUT not considered as an entry level gaming PC:

FX6300 - $120
Asus AM3+ mobo - cheapest is around $55 at newegg
seagate 500gb HDD 7200rpm - $60
corsair builder 600W PSU -$50 after rebate at newegg
GTX 760 - $250 at newegg
g skill 4 gb RAM(2x2) 1333 MHZ - $37
Thermaltake V3 blk edition casing - $30 after rebate
DVD writer - $20
Speakers - $10

the USB keyboard and mouse is around $25 and a good 1080p resolution monitor is around $140 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009422 and windows OS is $100 also.

SO TOTAL = $897 + TAX for a complete decent build =P

This is maybe over your budget a bit because of TAXES but I assure you that this will be more worth your money and this build can play all games smoothly on max settings on 1080p =P

Go to this website first--PcPartsPicker.com--This gives you prices and compatibility of parts. I always buy parts from Newegg.com for the best store. Buy a Rosewill case and power supply for best for the money. Buy a case with 3 fans(120mm), a power supply(psu) with 700 watts. ASRock extreme 3 motherboard with the same socket number as your processor for compatibility. Core i5 Intel processor-you don't need an i7 cpu for gaming. I use an AMD FX-4170 which works for me and costs less than the i5 although many gamers like the i5. 8GB of DDR3 ram 1600MHz. Sony optical drive dvd reader and burner for about 20 dollars. SATA 500GB or 1TB hard drive 7200 rpm 32MB cache or 64MB cache. I just bought a Radeon 7870 2GB video card at Newegg.com for $214 and it is great for the cost. Most people upgrade the video card every 2 years or so like I do. Thats why I stay in the 200 dollar range since in 2 years the 200 dollar one then will be twice as fast as the 200 dollar one is now. And an OS, get Windows7 for about 100 dollars-Home Premium is good for gaming- as W8 doesn't have the bugs worked out yet, you can upgrade in the future. I bought W8 for only 40 dollars but went back to Windows7 for now till w8 gets a service pack. You should be able to build a good one for under 900 to 1000 dollars.
All the parts and wires go into the only place they fit. There are 7 tiny wires from the front of the case to the mobo that have to be exactly right for it to start. The mobo manual will have a diagram that shows how to get them right, this is the trickiest part of pc building. Put the optical drive(dvd) in the case and the hard drive b4 you put in the mobo. Then install the power box and ram and video card.

GOOD power supply!! I mean good, don't go by it's specs (don't believe all your told lol) Google power supply's and how to choose, read reviews.

This is THE most important component in your build, without it nothing works! I have seen so many failures and so many strange hard to track problems that end up to be .....yep power supply. Do start with one and work your way up, you won't regret it.

Get an idea of spec you want for your rig CPU, Graphics, Drives, Accessories (Lights?) USB Devices to work out wattage, add a bit, no go find a GOOD supply.

I am trying to stay under or around $1000 and still run like a desktop. My wife and I are getting a Nikon D80 Digital Camera for Christmas and we also download a lot of music. We are not into gaming, however we would like to be able to watch and burn DVD movies.
